What can make a GPU to stop displaying on screen after months of mining with the GPU without display? I was tracking my mining through HiveOS android application on my smartphone but today I decide to insert the GPU in a gaming motherboard but no display, returned the GPU into mining mobo and mining works but inserting hdmi cable I got no display still...

Hmm I have two GPUs in a mining rig that won't display through hdmi output but I don't care because they mine very well so I just connect hdmi display to motherboard direct, pls check your bios settings maybe you are using igpu for display which will deactivate getting display from GPUs direct

What model gpu is it?
Amd?  Did you mod the bios for mining?

Happens no good reason why.  Or there are good reasons.  Do you have a display port on the gpu?

buy this cable

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015OW3M1W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?

plug the display end into the gpu

plug the HDMI end into the monitor

Sometimes this will fix the issue.

If the gpu has dvi output use this cable

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D6RL3VN/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?

This sometimes fixes issues.

other work arounds

strip all the amd and or nvidia drivers on the gaming pc.

try the card in each and every slot to see it it posts and you can view the monitor

if it does load the driver and see if you fixed it.

1. Check the BIOS settings, the display might be on igpu
2. Remove all GPUs from risers and insert one in x16 pcie slot and try again
3. Change hdmi cable to display cable instead
4. Remove CMOS battery 🔋 for 5 minutes and reinsert again, give it a shot this might fix your issue

Most likely one of the display port or hdmi or dvi or however you plugged it into is just not working. Usually there is more than 1 display output and I had instances where one of the HDMI ports was bad.

It’s very rare to have a GPU with no display at all. Usually one of the ports is bad or if you have a damaged GPU when you get a display it will be all scrambled and have wavy lines.

Just try to plug it into another port and see if it works.

Display ports and HDMI ports don't have issues randomly like that and GPUs have more than one hdmi and display ports available try switching the ports first and try another cable either hdmi or display cable just to be sure that the problem isn't coming from there

Unplug your graphics cards and test the integrated graphics. If the Integrated graphics does not work, then reset the BIOS, connect one video card and make settings with it.
HiveOS does not require a working video output for mining settings. You can customize the system by copying the configuration file to another PC.

I faced a familiar issue yesterday and till now I haven't fixed it, I got no display when I connect a GPU to my TV through hdmi cable but if I remove the GPU and use the integrated GPU I get display easily but through VGA to monitor, I'm confused maybe it's the GPU or the TV

Buy a VGA-hdmi adapter and customize your mining farm using a conventional analog monitor.

This method works with all video cards, if you buy on aliexpress, buy several adapters, because the adapters may be defective.

someone told me to put the gpu on the board instead of the riser and that worked, try put one gpu directly on the board in the first slot and hook hdmi up to it.

Install the GPU in your test machine, that has a 2nd GPU with a monitor attached to it.

Boot into Windows 10.  Is your GPU recognized in Device Manager?

Do you have stable drivers ?

If it’s not found, you likely have a dead GPU.

Then you are looking at baking it.

Been there.
