Have a couple 1246's, all from the same seller over the past 4 months. Just got one and they said they tested it, sent videos etc. Got it and plugged in and it won't hash. I swapped control board from another working unit, still didn't work. Changed PSU with another unit, still didn't work. I feel like it is something stupid I am missing. Any help appreciated! Edit: one fan was unplugged when the log was copied. {'STATUS':[{'STATUS':'S','When':0,'Code':11,'Msg':'Summary','Description':'cgminer 4.11.1'}],'SUMMARY':[{'Elapsed':120,'MHS av':0.00,'MHS Currently viabtc, but did switch to see if that had any effect, it did not. Any ideas from the log?

It's recognizing only two hashboards and can you plug back the fan? Maybe it can also affect miner operation

Like the above said plug the fan back to your miner and make a new copy of your logs and paste it again here.
It seems the other thing that you didn't replace/swap is the ribbon/data cable? Try to replace it with a known working one.
I don't know if this miner will work only one hashboard like in Antminer but you can try to run only one hashboard and check the logs again for reference and maybe one of the hashboard causing this issue.

I did swap the ribbon cables, but amongst the 3 boards, not with a known good one, will do that later tonight. Canaan sent a new firmware for me so it would run on less than 3 HB, here is the log now: {'STATUS':[{'STATUS':'S','When':0,'Code':70,'Msg':'CGMiner stats','Description':'cgminer It has ECHU code (error code hashing unit) 131073 for the first hash board. 130173 is a bit sum, 1 + 130172. You can find description for error 1 and error 130172 here, see Table 4 ----> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3224256That hash board most likely needs a repair job.

Dumb question, but can't find the answer, which direction do they number the boards?
Looking at the back of the machine, is #0 on the far right, or left?

I don't know, sorry.
I have tried to buy one A1246 from Canaan, so that I could review/guide it. But they stopped replying me.
I'm not a big fan of paying premium through a 3rd party reseller.

Buying a used miner isn't a good idea if both parties don't fully trust one another, a video proof means nothing as far as i am concerned, you could have gotten a broken miner from the get-go, of course, things could go wrong with shipping and handling and whatnot, or the buyer could be dishonest, so the seller can't just refund everyone who claims they received a dead miner. I have tried to buy one A1246 from Canaan, so that I could review/guide it. But they stopped replying me.
Maybe it's for the best, I only heard negative stuff about this model from various sources, the PSU has a very high failure rate, and hash boards are poorly built, overall a bad gear from what I heard so far, which is probably why it sells a lot cheaper than its rivals Whatsminer and Bitmain.

Not only ECHU shows error but also this HASHS[1 0 0] it means the first hashboard is bad. Dumb question, but can't find the answer, which direction do they number the boards?

Why not check the mm board physically it should have something named under the ribbon cable of each board. But my guess is if you are facing on the back the first board should start at the right and if you are facing on the front it should start from the left it just like you are reading a text beginning to the left.

Thanks all! I have identified the board.
As a bonus, the machine is still under warranty so I am working with Canaan on that now. Once I got in touch with them, they have responded within 24 hours to each email from me.
To add to everyone's random information bank....
It appears that the ECHU ( 0 0 0) in the log represents the ports on the control board (looking from the back of the machine) (Left, Right, Middle).

What email did you use to contact them? I had an issue with my 1246 and I'm trying to get a new hashboard. No idea if it's under warranty still.

I used support@canaan.ioHOWEVER, they are forcing me to use my reseller; he is refusing to accept it. Saying China is restricting what is sent through customs, and now canaan has stopped responding to me at all.

I take it you did not use one of their few Factory Authorized distributors such as Blokforge? If not then ja, you may be screwed regarding any official Canaan warranty support. Just as Bitmain, Inno and btmicro do, ALL warranty work must go through the original purchaser or Company that ordered it from the manufacturer. For Factory Authorized distributors/resellers (who are listed on the manufacturer websites), no problem. For any other random reseller - BUYER BEWARE!
