I would say Polygon is a pretty good coin/project to take a closer look into this year  especially with the rising interest in the NFT market a lot of people been using it lately  to list their NFTs on websites like opensea to avoid paying the gas fee as in the case with Ethereum.

Although there are chains that allows nft transaction other than eth but polygon is one of the leading that has been used. It was like polygon is the bsc of defi because bsc is the main coin that is used by the masses even though there are alternatives out there like avax, sol, matic and so on.

I think it was too obvious that polygon is the only one that has an etherium like potential because of close they are to each other. Polygon has been given a big break, thanks to NFTs. This makes people forget about the past issues that polygon have or they have experienced with. I am talking about the increase of the fees and the heavy congestion.

Nothing has been close to Ethereum but at least seeing Polygon is having a good show that makes their investors think they are safe.
Terra Luna and Ava are also performing well this time. Can't just ignore them honestly but have to stop also comparing to ETH coz that never happens for they have a different platform and besides, the ETH network is too big enough to compare.
And about Moonriver, not on my list, maybe in the future.

It's only an option for now because of the transition from expensive gas costs to cheaper ones, so it doesn't matter if you have to look at Polygon just for NFT because basically Polygon can be taken anywhere including NFT even though NFT is starting to get a little dim now

Nice thought, but how long will NFTs stay popular? Do people invest in a coin just for this reason?
In fact, all the coins on the list are promising and good ones, but it is difficult to know how much they will use their potential. In the past years, there were many popular and thought to be good coins, but after the bear season came, they could not return

Avax looks better adn better everyday for me. The reason why they are looking better is not because of them and that kind of makes it a little bit funny. There are other stuff like polygon and sol and so forth that have problems with their own blockchains not delivering what they promised, and there are ones like ADA that has basically no smart contract when you think about it and barely could have it after nearly 4 years of development which is not a good sign for the future.

So, I would say that the worst case for Avax could be just doing something and screwing it up. If they keep on doing nothing and having zero problems, then they are by far the best for me because they simply never failed like others.

checking this whole thread with 108 posts? almost 80-90% are all standing to Polygon(MATIC)  and makes me wonder if this project really may bring good to the investors or just being shilled by holders from Airdroppers and from bounty Hunters that still keeps their bounties? or those ICO investors that still holding.

There are many coins in this industry to trouble eth. Different people has different coins to say but I personally feels that BNB for me us eth killer. This coin has everything to make a one of best coin in future. World best exchange coin has more respect and community behind. Bnb team has always work for their growth. So my opinion is that BNB has potential like Ethereum.  Eth price is only 6x ahead of BNB price this is not a big task in crypto.

This is why it is doing better in the standings right now as well. Not because they did something good, but because they never did something bad. It is not funny or weird, that is actually a great thing for any project.

If you promise something and deliver it and have no problems then people will start to believe in you more and more. ADA was like that back in the day, they were not great and did nothing great but they just showed that they worked on it and had no problems, and that is why it reached as much as third at some point.

Avax is on the same path as well, if they never fail, unlike ADA which eventually did, then I can see it being a solid 4th behind btc,eth,bnb trio.

Matic has lots of positive side and so It won't be bad idea to go for matic as having Ethereum-like potential, IMHO

MATIC is a potentially coin but to become like ethereum? it is not going to happen lol , instead there is none in the list that could get even closer to how ethereum performs , but if SOL or ADA is listed in OP then I would agree in any of those two.

True mate. Agree with you but polygon sounds more ahead among rest of there altcoins that op mentioned in this thread. That's why i choice matic. Crypto market is inceasing again and i believe It'll perform well in long term too

Humm, there was a lot of speculation after EOS, TRX was born and many people predicted them to be ETH killers.  However, so far all developments as well as speculative behavior are still standing and intact for the top 1 altcoin market.  The explosion of scalable altcoins in the last 2 years such as Avax, Dot, Luna, BNB shows that they are maturing and evolving but sustainability over time is the constant development that characterizes them competition.  I guess Luna or Avax will have a very good potential to compete and grow like ETH in the future.

There are many that are lacking from the list OP has mentioned, doesn't mean that they do not deserve to be mentioned in our topics. I am fine because I prefer Avax and Avax is in the list OP has provided, so I do not have any additions. But, if you prefer that SOL should be in that list, then you should say SOL and explain why you think that it should be in that list.

If you believe that something else should be on that list then you should write that name and that would be your way of saying which one should be eth like potential. So in the end, just because OP said some coins, doesn't mean that they are the only ones, you could add more.

Well I heard this project too and everyone talking about this MATIC, in fact --this project belonged to the group of the Ethereum killer which is BNB, SOLANA, ADA, and this MATIC. All of these I mentioned could be also potential like Ethereum, there is so much news that I have read, many of the developers jumped into different networks because Ethereum has a higher fee and they want to break this and find another network that could be used as the same as Ethereum and CZ the Binance CEO already did this.

I agree, Matic is indeed very prominent and deserved, because he provides a low-priced exchange and becomes one of the targets. we know that the problem is that matic is on the ethereum network as well and if only ethereum 2.0 can be displayed this year, we can be sure that matic will fade by itself and will be abandoned.

I like Moonriver. Their MOVR token has a lot of potential, as the smart contracts platform has incredible potential for development. When this project came out, it was trading at $70 at the start and managed to reach $450 per token. Now the token is back to its original values and it's a good chance to start buying it little by little. I'm sure with the growth and potential of this exosystem, this token's price could easily surpass the $1,000 mark in the next bull run.
