If I were to judge gambling based on what OP has mentioned, I would right away conclude that gambling is bad. Despite its pros and cons, if people are losing their life savings because of it, it must be bad. It would definitely outweigh the fact that others are making money out of it. I’d rather not have gambling and people making money, if the other side of it are people losing life savings which would mean everything to their families.

One of the pros of gambling for me is the temporary rush of dopamine one feels when he or she allows himself or herself to engage in the activity as a way to escape the harsh realities of one's life's problem. It just depends on how a person will permit gambling to influence his life in either a negative or positive manner. Gambling can be a source of income and entertainment for most people. For some people, this is their one way to generate income and is a way for them to bring food to their table. This also serves as entertainment and ease of boredom especially to those people who don't have other outlets to release stress and to have fun. Gambling brings enormous joy to those who are very much used to it. This could also bring job opportunities in a certain place which could result in boosting the tourist rate and eventually the employment rate. Later on, the boosting of the employment rate could then proceed to boost tax revenue by the state because there are more establishments now that are obliged to pay taxes back to the government. This could cause a positive effect on the economy of a country may it be only a little.

That's right, because in gambling everyone is aware of that. But the question is why if you already know the level of defeat is greater than the victory achieved? as gamblers we are more aware of it for alternative entertainment and not following ambition to win. The only con I can find in gambling is not due to gambling itself but rather to some individuals that get addicted and are not fully in control of what they do or that extend their play beyond what they can really afford to loose and beyond the point in which the fun stops.
