Look like there is whole of Africa , many parts of Asia, Canada, Australia yet to discover bitcointalk I highly doubt that's the case and based on certain things, you might be getting inaccurate results [e.g. VPN]... - What you're seeing in your last screenshot, it's just the "desktop" stats for the top 5 countries, and when you expand it [247 more countries], you'll be able to see the stats for other countries as well [requires having an account].

I wonder how accurate is their data when they state Bitcointalk HQ is located in china with 51 - 200 employees (i wonder if they count moderator as employees) .

As with all these sites, they can be seen as having some truth, but also some misinformation. The degree of each will depend on exactly how the information is gathered, how representative it is (ist’s often sample based) of the whole population (Bitcointalk’s Traffic), how the extrapolation takes place and compares to other sites, and so forth. We get some glimpses of what’s under the hood here: https://support.similarweb.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001631538-SimilarWeb-Data-MethodologyThere, it states that data is derived form 4 different sources: • Direct Measurement – millions of websites and apps choose to share their first-party analytics with us. Learn why here • Contributory Network – a collection of consumer products that aggregate anonymous device behavioral data • Partnerships – a global network of organizations that collect “digital signals” across the Internet • Public Data Extraction – an advanced algorithmic engine that captures and indexes public data from billions of websites and apps
The forum certainly isn’t going to be amongst those that share their analytics with them, people using Bitcointalk tend to try to be somewhat private, therefore contributory network data should be a misrepresentation at best. The remaining two sources are darkboxes to me. The only real sources I’d trust would be data provided by the forum itself, which I’d really like to see, especially for trying to determine the weight of unique visitors per country vs local board’s theoretical potential. VPNs though are likely often used here, so even so the data would need to be read with a grain or two of salt.

I think they have also counted the campaign managers, maybe also the volunteer people Otherwise, I don't see how they came with that number lol.

You can get it there Forum's 2020 year-end reportSee details in that post. Here I only reuse the chart for impression stats which somewhat represent the forum traffic stats. I did not update that topic for almost a year.

@tranthidung did you adjust the impressions in Ad stats for the duration of each Slot? As far as I remembered, I calculated average from raw data given by theymos for each round. It's with his old data dumps. - I take average of all slots in each round
- Usually there are 10 slots/ round but in some rounds, there are more than 10, up to 14 perhaps
- I calculated duration of each round by myself and double-checked with theymos data (old style), it matches
- So if there is anything does not match, it is how we calculate per-slot stats
I see recent months, theymos changed the data format but as said I stop updating that topic many months. - You can double check it with current given data from theymos for each round. I don't know what he did in order to get stats for per slot, but believe there are not much difference.

Well, seeing most of the replies here I thought I went on the wrong site to see the traffic stats but then suddenly one thing clicked in my mind. Why not check the stats for the similarweb site and see how many people are using it. To my surprise, they have 5 Million per month visitors (greater than bitcointalk). This made me think is the world crazy following their false stats

It looks like the mapping is completely false because we know that lot of people from third world countries are here in bitcointalk (no intention of offending just for the fact) and most of them are registering tons of posts in the altcoin section especially those bounty reports then how can we assume that no one from there is using bitcointalk. Bitcoin is borderless and internet is a never ending place so we never know people are using bitcointalk from where unless they express it.

This made me think is the world crazy following their false stats If majority of their stats is wrong why do you think the data on monthly visits would be accurate? The forum has almost 3.5 million registered members, this includes a large chunk of brand new member who never made a post and a lot of inactive profiles, it's highly unlikely it generates a monthly visit of 2.8 million, this gives a total reach of about 80% per month which is unrealistic.

I wonder how accurate is their data when they state Bitcointalk HQ is located in china with 51 - 200 employees (i wonder if they count moderator as employees) . Maybe they counted all moderators, staff with theymos, or maybe they counted all DT1 members as employees I don't know who fills this information but I think it's probably some bots on automatic and they are not very smart. They show Russian visitors, but Russia blocked Bitcointalk.org entirely. I don't think "similarweb" can count VPN users.
I don't think that Russia blocked Bitcointalk forum at all, we have many members from that country and their local board is one of the most active in forum. Just to make sure I visited Bitcointalk from multiple locations in Russia, Sankt Petersburg location and it worked very smooth opening all pages and browsing the forum. Ratimov and his fellow local members can confirm or deny my claims.

I come to know about some interesting traffic related stats about bitcointalk and decided to share here. Look like there is whole of Africa , many parts of Asia, Canada, Australia yet to discover bitcointalk Source: Similarweb - Traffic Rank & Website AnalysisThe traffic site for the bitcointalk forum on certain sites may not be completely accurate and may be affected by several factors. It's pretty much the same as the Alexa site. The way the site collects data will affect the accuracy of the results and this is not much different from alexa in my opinion. Apart from that, I think the image size you are using is a bit distracting. I suggest you to edit the image size for a better view. Do it like this as an example

Is it possible for one site to have a lower rank on global stats than in only one state? Or in the global United States rank was not counted? I mean, if US rank says #31765, where all of the first 31764 disappear when we count global ranking? It must be the higher number for sure. Or do I am missing something?

I imagine the low amount of traffic from Asia, and a few other countries is because of VPN, and Tor usage. Partly related to the censorship that these parts of the world are subjected too. Here's a archive of a news site which talked about Russia banning Bitcoin related sites, I'm assuming that Bitcointalk was one of them at this time. So, assuming that this is still the way Russia is handling things, they'd be required to use a VPN which would skew certain statistics. Though, even theymos unless he manually combed through the IPs, and tried identifying the VPNs wouldn't be able to tell you exactly how many Russia users are using a VPN. They could also use Tor, assuming Russia hasn't tried to block Tor too.

The above data cannot be accurate. I also believe that paid analytics services will give more accurate results. The forum’s policy to allow connection by VPN and focus on privacy makes geographical data inaccurate. Perhaps analyzing the data provided here ---> https://bitcointalk.org/adrotate.php?adstats will give us more accurate results although I think what matters is the number of logins using unique IPs which is the approximate number of beginners who join us. I remember a while ago that most of the traffic to the forum was from YouTube, so did the impact increase after the channel was launched?

And if we trust these websites then bitcointalk.org is worth almost $42.87 million ~ 1007.93 BTC also bitcointalk.org is earning $2,068,560 ~ 48.63 ~ BTC per year https://www.worthofweb.com/website-value/https://bitcointalk.org/
