I came up with this idea because some people feel that the special thread for rank up celebrations is already quite annoying in some section of this forum be it on Beginner & Help boards or Reputation boards. This idea existed without anyone's encouragement and entirely because of my intention to make it more organized.

Rules and who can participate?

• Junior to Legendary Member
• You can do it multiple times each time you rank up ^{[low rank member]}
• Write a few words that you think deserve to be celebrated with this community
• Don't spam this thread

I know that we have a dedicated thread on [LOG] The ranked up members - Congratulations! moderated by Coin-1, but I hope this thread comes up with a different idea. There is no list, but each member will celebrate their rank up success. It's much better if you can also promote to other users so they no longer create custom thread for the rank up celebrations, these threads are made to be more organized.

It is not bad for someone to rank up and create a thread about it, but just that the thread can be created on reputation board. It is just a special day for some members and there is nothing bad about that.

I personally would want to see the ranked up thread of quality members of the forum and they deserve a thread to celebrate their achievements on the forum. What majority find annoying is when such threads become hackneyed and users create them seemingly for the purpose of getting attention and maybe merits.

A celebratory thread like this would be avoided by members who want the opportunity to rack some merits, and the legitimate members deserve a thread to celebrate their achievements if they wish to, in the appropriate board.

I'm also not saying that it's a bad attempt, but when it's done by nearly every member who manages to rank up full member or higher then I'm sure people start to see it as something less fun. I've expressed my opinion here for the celebratory thread. I know not everyone will agree with this, so we really need to think of a good solution to keep it organized.

In the moment, I'd love to hear more thoughts on this idea from you. If this thread idea doesn't get enough support then I think I better lock it in future.

In essence, people will create their own thread to celebrate their rising rank in the forum regardless of whether the forum has provided this facility or not. I haven't seen it as something that has a bad impact on forums especially when they can inspire other users to change their posting behavior for the better.

I admit that I was able to reach Legendary due to some other user's celebration thread. I have no desire to change the bad habit of my previous post until I find the thread. Of course some of the threads that are created are very inspiring, but problems will arise when the thread is created just to attract the attention of others to give it a merit.

That's not true all the time. It's fun to share the excitement of ranking up with everyone. I remember I was so much excited that day when I got the full member rank because I was desperate to have the ability to wear an avatar. I guess the trend of posting a ranking-up thread was started as proof of "ranking up is possible" while it turned into a habit for everyone once they achieve a rank.

That problem will solve itself: if enough people find it annoying, they won't earn Merit from it anymore.

I guess it won't be; some people are so annoyed with this as I have observed from the beginning of my presence here while some other aren't. It won't be too much annoying anytime soon.

Merit records and rank up are different but if they have enough merit, they will rank up sooner or later. If they don't leave the forum because they must get enough activity as well as merit to rank up.

I see people celebrated their rank-ups many times  in Beginners & Help.

Personal topic or this topic about rank up should be published in a Reputation board.

Take the Meta and the Beginners and help section as an example.

Check how many merits were sent when the merit system started, check 6 months later and now.
Do the same with who was starting a topic, and who were sending merits.

People got bored with the merit prostitutes and their useless topics good enough for the kindergarten

I'm one of those users who haven't created a celebratory thread after the merit system was introduced. I managed to 2 times rank up so far (Hero and Legendary) but I don't think I should celebrate. But I don't think the Legendary celebration is something ridiculous, it's good to prove that the merit system doesn't prevent them from achieving Legendary.

I'm not sure your idea will get much support from those who rank up because in reality you're not the first to come up with an idea like this. Tthread with the same idea has been ignored by many while others continue to create celebratory thread, so this is not the best idea in my opinion. _BlackStar, I'd rather you start learning more meaningful things to increase your knowledge of bitcoin and other more useful things than thinking about issues like this. You can't stop people from having an opinion while you're also free to do whatever you want as long as you don't break any rules.

I don't think anybody is kicking the excitement of ranking up celebration, we all know that it's not easy as we think via ranking to another level of community position, making a post of rankup is appreciation symbol of achieving another face of life, someone can as much he can provided that their is a welcomed development, so relating it to civil service workers, immediately they ranked up to another step they do call for celebrations, so in the community here celebrating achievement of new position is not a norms here but it Worth it because of time wasted for research and innovations of new things that worth emulations.

The emphasis should not be on legendary only. In most cases, the joy of a Jr member becoming a full member or a full member becoming a Snr member is higher than a Hero Member achieving a legendary rank.
In most cases, lower ranked members especially new era genuine newbies have many things to prove.
Apart from putting together what would be seen as quality posts, they still need to prove that they can be trusted, in some cases prove that they aren't someone's alt and even has to make their usernames familiar as many of them don't know anyone in the forum.
But in the case of a Hero Member to Legendary, he must have overcame some of the above challenges, leaving him with only the challenge to make quality posts, earn merits and activity and rank up.

I know there is happiness when a member ranks up because I already ranked up a few times and had that feeling. No one can say "I am not happy because I just achieve something today, rank up for example".

But I get a point discussed above that if the forum does not have merit system and merit is not taken into algorithm for ranking up, such celebration topics will be less created. It is a good point. Furthermore, if ranks don't have any beneficial thing, people might not care about it too.

The average of the thread of celebrations ranging from member rank to Legendary, there will be motivation for other users. Some of them make it pretty good, while others don't where more people aren't interested in joining in on the celebrations. You will get something different from a Legendary celebration than a low rank member celebration because I think Legendary celebrations no longer expect more achievements "thanksgiving-only" while low rank celebrations will usually require more support and motivation for the OP to do better so they can get more merit to be promoted to the rank above.

COOLCRYPTOVATOR, I don't deny creating a new thread for celebration because basically I managed to reach Legendary rank starting because I was motivated through the celebration of some other users. But anyway if the OP celebrate a trivial achievement like getting on the list of the most earned merit then I think it's going to be a bit harsh on some user opinions. I wouldn't think celebrating ranking achievements would be prohibits or would be regulated by the rules as it was a way for someone to express their joy after they succeeded. That will be normal in some forum, but in a good manner and interesting.

_BlackStar, your idea won't get much support in the end and I think it would be best for you to close this thread and forget about it. Look at the thread you refer to, it should be the reason why this thread is not needed because basically people will express their happiness in their own way, including by creating a celebration thread.

Initially this idea arose because I thought the ranking celebration would be more regular if done in a single thread, but when I realized that there are different goals for each user who creates their own thread, I started to believe that custom thread like this don't get much attention. I never thought that thread celebration was a bad attempt, but getting them to fall into a single thread is much better. It's fine even if you don't want to support it, I'd consider the suggestion of locking threads for lack of support.
