This topic of Bitcointalk is/was down sometimes scares me, would really like to know if this is just a minor technically issue that users shouldn't be scared of and is like a normal thing that happens each year, I don't get it? But why?

Once again the bitcointalk was down today and this outage was for a long time. I do not know exactly but when I tried to reach bitcointalk it did not open and then I tried after half an hour it still failed to load.
Just checked now and we are back up again.

At beginning of 2022 when I registered here in the forum, I really get confused whenever this happen and thought someone or people were trying to hack the forum that way this error keep happening but as time past I begin to understand that it's actually normal because I have come across this not one or twice so I don't get tripped by the server or system being down anymore .

I didn't notice the site went down today because I wasn't online. If the site went down for 1 hour today it's going to affect users who've started complaining more. If the servers down time's gone from minutes to hours it doesn't show the problem's under control. Is it getting down time because of attacks?

This is the same thing I had in mind when I noticed it, I had to start far from my device just to avoid that panic feeling disturbing my stomach. After some hours I tried coming online and it worked like nothing happened. I just see these constant behavior as a normal thing now but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be concerned or worried about it.
What should be the issue, must it always happen every new month? Or is that a way of telling us happy new month?
To be sincere with you, I think something need to be done to stop it completely, not that easy but it should be.

I've made this post but the site went down again for 1 minute.

We don't know if it's getting down time because of someone or ppl trying to hack the forum. The server's been hacked before so it's possible it's happening again but it's suffered attacks before so I wouldn't be surprised. In the end it starts working so we're able to enjoy access to the forum but it's got to be bad waiting for ppl who find it offline.

This is the third time I am experiencing this gateway timeout I don know if it has been happening since this forum was create or is it a new experience? The last one that occurred lasted close to an hour, and i most confess this timeout is not good for this forum health most especially its frequent occurrence. Is there any possible solution to this issue, if there is, I think its time to put an end to this. Mr Theymos please if its in your power to put an end to this please this is where you come in, my first two times of experiencing this I taught the forum has cut me off the forum

It's strange because I couldn't load the forum but other tabs didn't have the same problem. When it doesn't load it's for short times before connecting again but this time I didn't see the Cloudflare page. It's happened for a few seconds today so if it's my browser loading I'll say sorry because I've misunderstood but if it's the server other users must've noticed it.

Bitcointalk was down for around 10 mins or so. Did anyone noticed?  Any reasons, Server glitches or DDOS attack  

I also confirmed from downforeveryoneorjustme to be sure the problem was not at my end.

I have never faced such problem, so it might be due to network problem and sometimes development works. Especially since I just watched all the episodes of Pahela April Fool. The forum is working on a special type of development so it is normal to have forum downtime for some time.

It was a bit longer than that, as according to ninjastic.space there is a gap with no posts between 05:29 UTC and 07:11 UTC so ~1:40.

Still, we do not have the exact reasons for these downtimes but anyways the good thing is that we are back online and there is nothing to worry about.  

Afaik, we never got an answer what exactly is causing it.

There was a 504 error. One of the possible causes of this error is server overload due to a sudden influx of traffic. So, I guess it might have just been a DDoS attack.

If it was a DDoS attack, it is better for the server to shut down rather than allowing unwanted people to enter the server.

The same thing happened to me just right now, I thought it’s my internet connection because the Bitcointalk page usually doesn’t take more than a second to load. This time I tried Like more than five time to load it knowing all other websites and apps are working fine.
The coincidence is that I found this topic when finally got in, going go Show unread posts since last visit and this topic appeared first just to read that many of us having the same issue that’s something to really worry about beside it’s so annoying and different than the cloudflare error we use to get.

Believe it or not, I have the feeling that over the next few months, there will be a lot of these types of attacks.

I share the same feeling, something or someone powerful is behind this is trying to lock Bitcointalk for good or at least cause harm to it.

No, it means there were no posts for 3 minutes. I tried much more often.

If it was a DDoS attack, it is better for the server to shut down rather than allowing unwanted people to enter the server.

A DDoS doesn't give anyone access to the server. And I don't think it's a DDoS, if so, Cloudflare would jump to crazy Captcha mode. Cloudflare worked just fine, the server didn't.

There's no how there wouldn't be any form of glitches on the means to get access to the forum or internet as there's no assurance that things like this will not keep happening, though it may mean nothing but it's better that we know there will occasional experience like this, regarding the downtime, sometimes it may be due to the upgrade made to the forum or the other related internet connectivity challenges from accessing the forum, but the good thing is that it's all nothing to worry a about.
