Bitcointalk was down for around 10 mins or so. Did anyone noticed?  Any reasons, Server glitches or DDOS attack  

I also confirmed from downforeveryoneorjustme to be sure the problem was not at my end.

I noticed this but it was less than 10 minutes, I checked Show unread posts since last visit. The time difference between OmegaStarScream and Latviand's comment was 7 minutes, bitcointalk was down for less than 7 minutes.

Yes, I noticed it about like 50 minutes ago or so?

I usually take a look at the forum before logging in and start writing and this happened to me a short while ago. But it didn't last long as you both say, the next time I tried I was able to read the forum.

This time I didn't noticed , maybe issue resolved quickly. possible reason is update or DDOS attack. Last time forum down for more than hours happen on 19 may this year.

Server updates only cause a few minutes downtime like 5 minutes. Unless it is Windows.

I never experienced this maybe do I say I wasn't active at the time it happened, currently is working fine on my ending sometime it could be network issues.

I'm going to bet it was just some server glitch or a server migration downtime by whatever server service Theymos is using. The server I personally use — Vultr, frequently has maintenance but little to no downtime.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is there even a reason for anyone to DDoS Bitcointalk knowing that there is no other close competitor anyway? Lol.

Well, I wouldn’t notice as the session is said to have taken just about 10minutes and I wasn’t active at the time.
Still, it’s an interesting site you’ve shared being entirely new to me.

I had a quick visit and read on it just minutes to making this post and it clearly shows the site been active at the time and the exception was directed at me with the site being up now. Though, a downtime didn’t reflect in the site downtime records within the last 24hours which implies, there wasn’t anything major about it. Which gives reasons to be cool about these brief sessions!

There operandum is based on the networking of servers as in quote;

There were a few more posts in between those 2, but indeed, it was about 7 minutes between post 62787410 and post 62787411.

One can only speculate, but a DDOS is what forced theymos to move to Cloudflare. Cloudflare is terrible for privacy:

I didn't even notice this technical glitch and only found out about it from this thread. I believe that the majority of such users. I don't think that this is a reason for panic and worries. Glitches happen, so what can you do. If the forum works thanks to the work of the administration, because as you can see, we continue to communicate on it, then everything is in order. Bitcointalk continues to live the same life.

This mostly affects the regular user and other thing why I didn't come realized about the sudden short down could be a time difference, so I suspected it to be at midnight over here that was why we hardly detects it or come to face same issues as others did.
But from experience so far, we don't need to worry over this technical issues as it often comes and disappears.

I didn't even notice this technical glitch and only found out about it from this thread.

Same here, i feel like only few notices this probably because it's sunday — rest day, family day etc. Because if not, people will keep spamming meta for the same reason.

I haven't experienced down time when I've used the forum. Each time I open the site the forum's available there aren't issues. If it's getting problems on Sunday morning it's happening at times when I'm usually not online. I'm glad I didn't see it.

I'm here and wondering what's going on - but wait, I really didn't realize it. But luckily - it was resolved quickly before I posted anything today.

So far bitcointalk seems often have problems. I don't know what the problem is - but on some occasions it is annoying. Could it be that a group of people is planning something bad and attacking bitcointalk - but for what?

Maybe you are just overthinking it, overthinking create problems that are not there.

 It is more of the time technical related issues which is common not an attack of any kind.

It can be worrisome, but try not to be too worried.

That's true but I don't think using the word bitcointalk was down is best in describing the situation, i experience the short outage also but it doesn't last, i think this will be the second time it will be happening in less than two weeks if am not mistaking, aside from the one that lasted upto 3hrs some months back, i think it's more of a maintenance time when such happened and we can regard it as as a period the forum go under maintenance for some updates on it site.

I won't say he's overthinking he can be right in his thoughts on this. There's much competition and with similar cryptocurrency platforms like bitcointalk.org who won't hesitate to take down the platform at any chance giving.

Severally it has been due to a technical glitch on different occasions but we shouldn't assume it to always be a technical glitch when such challenge occurs. We should also weigh other options too.

Yes, I noticed it but I don't think it lasted more than five minutes. It's something many users would've missed without thinking twice anything went wrong. I noticed it because I was trying to do something online at the time. Nonetheless, I think we've been having this issue of forum being down more repeatedly this day. I hope something odd isn't brewing somewhere.
