Hello Wampum Nation, we have some good news, and some new news to talk about.  Here is what is going on

A. I am in talks with 15 exchanges to get listed with them so all of you miners out there can start trading your wampum.  I am waiting to hear back from a bunch of them.  In reality I expect wampum to be listed with a good 3-4 exchanges with good volume here shortly.  If anyone would like to climb aboard the Wampum train and help get Wampum listed faster on exchanges just let me know.  Big Bounty involved for that.

B. We have clothing coming out in the next few weeks that can be ordered with the Wampum logo on it, I will update on that as the time approaches.

C.  On the bonuses, anyone who is mining Wampum, or has mined wampum and not gotten the bonuses yet from me them please email me at wampumcoin@aol.com and give me your wallet id so I can send them over to you asap.

D.  We now have wampum being introduced into the Chinese, and Russian markets as well now thanks to our translators.  So that should be a big boost for the volume of wampum.

E.  So far we have 13 Charities we are going to be donating to.  I will post the full list once I am done talking with everyone.

WampumCoin is growing strong, and getting stronger everyday.  I like slow, and strong growth compared to just developing any old coin and doing a pump and dump which is what is happening with 80% of the coins out there now.  I want wampum coin to be around a long time, that is why I am taking the slower approach to growing wampum.  But the exchanges are coming for all the miners biting at the bit.  Everything will get done, please just remain calm and support wampum at every stage of our growth.

More to come

that appears to be true -- but, frankly, it's just another example of "shaking out the weak hands". Bitcoiners are always so apt at pointing at "how tough a trader" they are and yet many of them become worried once a coin isn't there on all the exchanges to be pumped-and-dumped in an instant :)

Rather, I think it's a good thing, keeps out the riff-raff, and could make this an even better coin in the long run.

I personally thought this coin had a lot of promise..  It was recognizable, and got a lot of press when it was announced.

I planned on mining it.

Then I decided to dig into it a little, and what I found wasn't good.  It took a little math and I saw a glaring problem.

Here's the original post about it:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=462991.0

Quote
Max Coins: 25,000,000,000 billion

Block Time: 60 seconds

Confirmations: 2

Difficulty re-target time: Difficulty re-target every 100 Blocks

Mac, Windows, and Linux Wallets

3 letter code--WAM

Pre-mining: 2%

Payout
Blocks 1-100,000: 150,000
Blocks 100,001-200,000: 100,000
Blocks 200,001-250,000: 75,000
Blocks 250,001-300,000: 50,000
Blocks 300,001-350,000: 30,000
Blocks 350,001-375,000: 20,000
Blocks 375,001-384,400: 10,000
after block 384,400 it will make 3500 more blocks at 3,500 until it hits 25 billion

Now the math comes in...

Blocks 1-100,000: 150,000  --  100,000 blocks at 150,000 coin per block totals 15,000,000 (15 billion)

Blocks 100,001-200,000: 100,000  --  100,000 more blocks at 100,000 coin per block totals 10,000,000 (10 billion)

So the total is 25 billion already...

Then there's:
Blocks 200,001-250,000: 75,000
Blocks 250,001-300,000: 50,000
Blocks 300,001-350,000: 30,000
Blocks 350,001-375,000: 20,000
Blocks 375,001-384,400: 10,000
after block 384,400 it will make 3500 more blocks at 3,500 until it hits 25 billion

That is over 34 billion coins produced, when it says only 25 billion.

I'm not making this up...  Do the math yourself before you waste a penny or a GPU cycle on it.

WTF, if the dev can't even set that up right, how can you trust anything else about the coin?

you're right (unfortunately)...

I did not actually sit down and check and reiterate through these calculations (dumb of me). I am glad you did and brought this up.

This needs to be corrected as it could undermine that part in which everyone trusts in a trustless Crypto world: the underlying math. So the devs need to come up with a fix for this ASAP and explain how Wampumcoin shall proceed from here. I am not sure though how much this fact is going to affect a coin at such early a stage as the future maximum total is a thing of, well, just that: the future. However, I am not saying it didn't matter at all as it could indeed tarnish this otherwise promising coin :(

It's very unfortunate that this mis-hap is there as I think that Wampumcoin (and the devs overall approach to building a real economy behind the coin) is interesting and it intrigues me, too. It still does. These portions still are very good. I am not "Mr Market" but I am curious to see how wider market reactions are going to be on that once WAM gets listed on coin exchanges. This can probably be fixed, other coins had problems in their infancy, too!

Thanks for your findings, we are glad to announce that On update 1.0 coming out there will be a max coin raise up to the 34 billion.  That will fix the problem.  There will just be more coins to mine , and more wampum to spread around.  So yes the matter has been resolved and will reflect in update 1.0!!!  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Dev,

I spoke to Richie at bittrex last night about adding the coin. Drop them an email and tell him the IRC channel you will be on and he will get with u.

Here is my Wallet Address: Wamyz4Essz7drNB9ikmC47pj5JpWyYZcU5

Thanks for your help, Please drop an e-mail here wampumcoin@aol.com describing your effort and wallet address.

to get listed on the comkort.com exchange, everyone here should support voting for WAM at https://comkort.com/vote/#WAM right away!

Registered users have THREE votes, unregistered passers-by have one vote per hour. Come on guys, we can do it :)

WAM needs to climb just two more places for being included on Sunday next week -- and then you will all have your exchange and trading option for Wampumcoin. I gather this is what everybody wants so bad out here...

Click the link https://comkort.com/vote/#WAM and do VOTE NOW!!

Also, we'll then be able to be included at coinpayments.net (IMPORTANT) for shopping cart plugins and more for online shops and merchants to use WAM in their businesses!

I updated the installer and Qt of build 1.1 with new nodes, checkpoints, and the max wampum coin update.  Yes we raised the coin count on wampum just a little bit. In addition, its built with the newer OpenSSL which fixes the "Heartbleed" issue.  Another node is being added, and the current nodes have been updated as said above.  This will fix any synching problems with the networks and wallets from here on out.

Any updates on this coin bud?  Is this coin still working toward a strong future or has efforts ceased?  Nice to have it on its first exchange but with no interest, it is not doing much there!
