I think bitcoin is a social movement community where bitcoin uses various media to introduce how it works and what is included in bitcoin, this triggers people to create communities to exchange information and lead to social movements that are allocated to certain goals
I think formal institutions ,are not really needed because bitcoin owners can control and understand the risks faced when entering the crypto world

No, this movement by a group of people is the effect of bitcoin. Bitcoin is not a social movement, if someone names a group of people they just want to take advantage of the popularity of bitcoin to increase their wealth. It is very visible, they lead the opinion of many people, which sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Consensus of trust has been shared by every crypto user because they have learned from previous trends. So the movement was created naturally because they agreed.

In my opinion, Bitcoin is not a "social movement". The concept of "social movement" is a standard of a movement that has a stop/end in time for community response. Bitcoin is completely out of that range. To me, bitcoin represents a new technological civilization that celebrates clear decentralization and moves towards financial freedom. Bitcoin as a revolution in financial consciousness for everyone, it has been going on for more than 10 years. Bitcoin is the future of man.

Bitcoin is still in that range circle, it just lacks a few stops and ends but despite not seeing the end point of the movement and the end time, we can still determine people's response to this movement, very high and not even seen the saturation point, society has no rejection for bitcoin, to be more precise, this once indigestible food is becoming more delicious and people's digestive system is demanding more absorption. According to many predictions, the banner of this social movement is going with the wind and continuing to fly, unable to separate from society and graft it as a new civilization

I think that anything revolutionary is involved in the social movements. Bitcoin doesn't dictate anything to anyone. Its freeing nature is what attracted most of us.

This forum we're using at the moment to discuss supports Bitcoin as a social movement. Anyone can create an organization that supports it, but it's better if we move as a team, in one place. Again, it has to do with its freeing nature; you can do whatever you want with it.

from my own viewpoint I don't consider cryptocurrencies as a social movement I mean yeah government cant have taxes on transaction and we have full control over our earnings and holding , yet
mostly people are supporting bitcoins because of the asset it has become , the returns on investing in Bitcoins are by far the most profitable ,
I believe this world is a profit based ecosystem , everyone is making profit by investing in crypto even big tech giants like Microsoft , tesla

Thanks to the Internet, everyone has the opportunity to join this movement. Working with cryptocurrency, people get to know each other, unite in interest groups, and I don't see the need to create any additional organization to support the cryptocurrency.

Your vision of Bitcoin is a bit weird. There are a lot of crypto enthusiasts from different spheres such as mining, blockchain development, just trading, but not all people want to share that they work with crypto. There are big communities that unite people with the same passion for blockchain, but I don't think that it is a social movement. What would be our goal if it was so?

I guess that at first hand, you need to explain what are the characteristics of social movement; it just needs a organization and nothing else? Does that mean bitcoin satisfies all the requirements of being a social movement except missing a formal organization?

In my understanding come up with such a question because bitcoin is decentralized and there is no central authority or any formal organisation for controlling/monitoring or simply governing bitcoins. Yeah, bitcoin is operated and by people like and you and it is government by set of rules which is predetermined and agreed by those people. So, bitcoin may not be a fully social movement but partially or a social movement with few exceptions.

Exactly, just like this forum or any other crypto forum out there, whether if it's Twitter or Telegram, we form a group of interested people and willing to invest, it is definitely considered as a social movement since Bitcoin was intended for P2P transactions in the first place, no organizations, no government that was involved in the first Bitcoin transaction, so we can all agree that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies can definitely be considered as a social movement.

In fact, Bitcoin really gives influence to many sections, not only financial but also industry, technology, social, politics, and others.

Well, Bitcoin and otjer cryptocurrencies have their communities and all those communities support each ither around the wolrd. Without any formal organization, the communities still can stand tight and awesome to make this world better with crypto.

If I understand the meaning of social movements, I don't think bitcoin was created for that. Bitcoin was created as a solution and is likely to be a friend not a social movement that is against. They should be able to benefit each other, because they have their respective advantages that can cover each other's shortcomings. Unless there was a group of people utilizing it, it could have been used as a tool. But as far as I understand if bitcoin is in line with its original purpose then it is very far from a threat word through social movements.

We must agree that the cryptocurrency originated as a social movement and its main purpose was an alternative circulation in society to the official currencies established by the states, which were used as a means of payment. In addition, decentralized cryptocurrency, in fact, is not needed by states and their institutions. It is an invention of people and for people. But it seems to me that any add-on over the cryptocurrency will harm its decentralization. Such add-ons will pretend to establish some general rules of behavior for users, and this is not necessary for cryptocurrency.
