If you really think that we are about to see a bear market that will last several years then i think it would be the best for you to don't do anything at all for a few years and once you think that the coins have reached their lowest points you can invest in them. I think bear markets are a opportunity to buy into projects that are already big and established like Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot, Cosmos etc. I would not buy into that coins during a bull market but after a long bear you can maybe get them for a good price. That being said, i don't really think that we are in for a year long bear market or so. Just because it happened back in 2018 does not mean that it will automatically happen again.

No one can accurately predict, and I'm not trying to predict. But I really hope this doesn't happen again. And I believe that this is not a protracted process for several years. You can slowly buy coins and wait for better times.

Smart thing would be to exit into stablecoin at the top. and buy your altcoins when it's bottom.
However, last 2 years have shown us that bear/bull ration of 3/1 doesn't work anymore, not in crypto at least.

For me it depends on your earnings, if you are sure of weekly or monthly earnings, then doing DCA from now wouldn't be a bad idea because we don't really know when the market will make a sudden move in either direction but at least this will be for investing for a longer period instead of something you might want to sell off quickly.

None knows how long the bearish trend will be happening but as long as you have reserved funds and then you can try to take various entry price as you have backup once the price goes down. Can you predict when the market recover again accurately? this must be your big question.

It's quite difficult to determine that. When you are thinking we are touching the deep and market will be going even deeper. So the only chance to create more and more positions to decrease the risk when you wanna try to build your portfolio but I think this is the best time to start it as bitcoin may recover again. I think you forget that if even those tokens are loosing a lot of their value up to 95% but remember that if you have bought some of them like decentraland and many more. You have become another millionaire right now.The key is you must be patience for that and the bearish market will not be last forever. In fact that you must try to understand that sometime bearish trend is needed to be used as the best time for accumulation. Anyone know about this for sure.

Yeah, I think so. While it's still fresh and you're seeing most of the crypto in the market are in bloodbath, you should make up your mind and build your portfolio while you're seeing a surplus.

Most likely, we're going to have the cycle again. It's going to be the same as what happened 3-4 years ago when the bear market was stomping all of us. But those wise folks, they've managed to buy during that time and held as they're patient along the process.

Man, this doesn't seem to be a good story for crypto. it seems like a big down is coming again for crypto and the whole market was dumping their crypto. I'm down almost a half of a million USD lol. You should wait for another bottom coz it seems like bitcoin will be going down even deeper than before. This time is the best time to build your portfolio but remember that you will be dealing with a big risk in crypto. None knows whether crypto market will be recovering again in the next years or not. I can only tell you that if crypto is going down to the deep and this can become our buy opportunity. Im keep accumulating more and more tokens on this bottom. I hope that we will see another recovery next month. I don't think this to happen as soon as possible but if we can see bitcoin to recover next month and this will become a very very good news.

But when will you know a bear market will take over? I find it hard to spot where it is even in my long years in cryptocurrencies.
Because for me, this is already a bear market. Isn't it enough? Bitcoin is down with high percentage and so does altcoins that have been dragged by the power of Bitcoin.
IMO, this might be a good buy point and create a decent portfolio. Go for the trusted coins which always had the higher possibility of growth and with a team to back it up even when its market falls down. Not like coins that are just made for fun.

Most likely the decline will repeat itself if the market trending market can't hold the $40k position, the current drop is almost half of ATH so another 30% is the next downside flow, when market downturn situation occurs it's better to cut loss and avoid holding in coins not potential because the price will fall will be difficult for price recovery.

If we decline to -50% of the last all time high, then definitely we are indeed in a bear market.
So it's like $34k-$34,500 if I'm not mistaken, and we are in the brink of hitting that as well with the current decline. And it's a scary thought that just about 2 months ago we are in a all time high and move forward at the start of the year, we are already taking a beating with almost half of that price already slice up.

Every year there are always different things that happen in the crypto space so you also can't fully take references from previous years to serve as a baseline this year, because what I see at this time the crypto space has changed very drastically.
