Which is the better Alt: XLM or XPR?

I am a BTC maximalist (at least to date) and am considering an Alt or two or three to balance out my HODLings.  Two I am looking at are the financial oriented Alts that (maybe?) the banks may use:

XRP (Ripple)

XML (Stellar)

XPR has a larger market cap, 5 times XLM.  XLM was forked off from XRP.

As I am not a banker, I would appreciate any good observations.  Thanks!

Ripple still has a pending case with the SEC so XLM would be the more logical choice between the two for now. I've read some articles saying that Ripple could win it and that the case would be close this year but I would rather wait for the final decision before buying XRP as a long term investment.

@OROBTC, We all know that Ripple (XRP) still has problems with SEC until now, As you said that Ripple (XRP) has a bigger market cap than Stellar (XLM), even 5 times. This means that if you choose to invest in Stellar (XLM), you have a higher chance of making a profit.

talking about altcoins, why don't you choose other altcoins that have more potential (in terms of technology and market capitalization) than Ripple (XRP) and Stellar (XLM)?

Op thinks to make this comparison to get investment advice or just for better knowledge. This should determine what kind of answers we should provide here.
Ripple [XRP] is quite different from Stellar [XLM].
XRP is not fully decentralized, it was first built by some centralized entities (Banks) to submit large amounts transactions between banks in the way to Keep pace with development of the cryptographic technology. The concept succeeded during its early age but then was observed by authorities who track the bank's activities like SEC.
While for XLM, it's a fully decentralized concept which has his own characteristics like many other alts in the market.

Why are you focused only with these two? There are better option available in the market. All of them are at a heavy discounted rated in the current bear market. Ripple please do not invest in it as there is a pending case still with SEC. I would also not recommend you to invest in XLM not much happening with this coin too.

If you just want to search for alternative investment, both XLM and XRP are okay as the price is below $1, especially when the bear trend comes again to the market. However, with the SEC case that happens to XRP, people are afraid to invest in XRP so that will be up to you whether you will still invest in both XLM and XRP or just invest in XLM and leave XRP. But I still have some XRP because my purpose is just to make a profit from the coin and if somehow, XRP finally can not exist in the market, that is the risk that I am willing to take. The call is yours

bitcoin maximalist is good  but you need some altcoin since altcoin can give u thousand of percent in matter of month maybe right now is best to choice since market at dip while we wait further confirmation

u dont give much choice but i will pick stellar  if u can add more try hodl first layer chain like bnb eth solana cardano those all good choice to pick
