I have some KCS on Kucoin and I figured instead of storing them in Kucoin I can send them to my metamask but the problem is when I want to send the KCS I get the following message.

Does this means if I send the KCS to the cross chain then I will lose them.

Need help as I am confused totally.

Cheers,

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Have you installed and metamask and selected the chain on the wallet? If so, I think it's okay. This is a warning only to make sure you are not messing up. Before going for bigger withdrawal, make a small one to confirm everything is okay and try both way. Send from Kucoin to Metamask and again metamask to kucoin.

I haven't tried withdrawing KCS but I don't think you'll lose it because you have the same address on Metamask. It doesn't matter if you withdraw using erc-20 or KCC network (different fees though). I think the warning is also telling you to check if the wallet you're sending to supports the KCC network.

Be sure to set the right parameters:
Chain Name: KCC-MAINNET
Chain ID: 321
Symbol: KCS
RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.kcc.network
Explorer URL: https://explorer.kcc.io/en

KCS was an Etherum blockchain token and now Kucoin launched its own KUCoin Community chain (KCC) and supporting KCC chain withdraws now so if you want to send ERC20 token to your Metamask in Etereium network there will be no issue but when you will select KCC chain netmask address then you will get just notification because some users don't know about KCC chain and only send to KCC chain instead of ERC20 so you can send you KCS to ERC20 on Eterium network and also can send in KCC now, the address will be same for both networks of metamask.

Does this means if I send the KCS to the cross chain then I will lose them.

It says "Please ensure the network matches the network of the address entered !". So you are safe as long as you chose correct network (KCC or ETH)

So if you want to withdraw to your metamask (ETH network if you did not change it) chose "ETH Ethereum(ERC20)" and it should be fine.

To calm you down even more ... previous poster is correct here:

the address will be same for both networks of metamask.

So if you want to withdraw your tokens to metamask, then your founds are safe no matter what network you chose because both addresses are the same. Even if you chose wrong network all you will have to do is switch network in metamask settings to access them.

You can always do a test withdrawal.
