Get well soon. The 1st few days are rough, but after that so long as you plan your movements it's not bad. And as I said, Mr. Ice Pack is your friend. Don't try to tough it out without the pain meds. I didn't 'need' them but it did make some things just easier to do.

Just avoid lifting heavy things (1-2 kg are really a thing at that stage). Also try not catching a cold or coughing that hurts like hell... I wishing you a good quick recovery mate!

The 3 entry wounds on my side for the endoscopic surgery are not swollen and my but I think the will scar just a bit. All in all not terrible experience. I go for final follow up on Nov 21st. So surgery was Aug 5. BY Sept 10 pain was gone By Oct 1 belly button appeared fully healed By Oct 31 three endoscopic entry wounds fully healed with all swelling gone. Umbilical Hernias caught early are easier to fix and this was an okay experience.

glad youre feeling better. this old age thing.. used to be i had to do something stupid to hurt myself.. now i can sneeze and blow my back out for days. looks to be a single level fusion sometime next year is in the cards for me. heck even sitting in a recliner i can feel things go *pop* in my body. they need to hurry with the life extension goods while my body still has some OEM parts in it.

Happy to say full recovery zero pain very happy I did it.
I was very motivated because I saw what happened to my dad and my father in law due to the both of them waiting far too long to do it.

Follow up it has been one year and eight/nine months .
Recovery is even better I can lift full 12 card gpu rigs. I also shut down the mine and moved a 26 foot truck filled with gear . More than 10,000 pounds of gear..
I just did new surgery on my deviated septum about 11-12 days ago it sucks but not the same way the hernia op did.

And the deviated septum (baseball to my face at 12 years old) Is almost healed. April 19 to May 21 very close to normal. Very glad I did it as my ability to stop being a mouth breather is greatly improved.

But, in the hospital @ 7:15 home by 12:15 and posting while high on pain meds @ 1:30 so yeah for modern medicine I guess.
Happy holidays all.

Man had mine, right side, like 15 years ago, and now while hiking i still feel like a light cut in the spot there. I lift haleavy things now but the first year no more than 5kg max, first half year was like 1 kg or something.. So DaveF needs to just relax the next year ... there's no other way .... Merry Christmas ppl

So 3 days and a few hours post op. Still rough. Meds do help but I am trying to keep them to 1/2 a dose every 8 hours instead of 4. I think it's a bit worse then last time *but* I am 4 years older and from them post - op surgical report it was a bit bigger then the 1st one and that was fairly large.
But I am binge watching some stuff. However, Netflix and chill is more of Netflix and Ice Pack. And I made myself laugh a bit with that stupid joke and it hurts.....
