• While I understand that some may complain that we are waiting far too long for the new forum, I can't just ignore the fact that someone, some years ago, decided to take on the responsibility to keep things running for an undetermined number of years for a project known to few at the time. He surely had some headaches when the forum was hacked, but the action was quick and afterwards a explanation of what happened ensued. He didn't abandoned his watch when the situation was unfolding. The bills are still being paid, the funds that are meant to sustain the forum for the future are being kept and secured (and increased towards forum ads), and who knows what the future holds? I'm sure that many may have arguments that may not be favorable, I do believe theymos is doing an overall good job and, from my point of view, could be considered to this nomination.

  2. Golden Feather: DannyHamilton

• When I started out finding (and reading) replies from this user I started bookmarking them because I found them so much informative that I wanted to read them with more attention whenever I could. Some of the bookmarks that I still have are here[1][2][3] (I also merited them at the time). I quickly realized that his replies were so good and so complete that I would have a long list to bookmark  so now whenever I can I just read them (sometimes twice) to fully understand the message that's being spread (Thank you for that). When I first saw the Note: on the description of this nomination, this user instantly came to my mind, it's just suitable.

  3. Bitcointalk Ninja: LoyceV

• Development can be interpreted, from my perspective, in two meanings - Developing additional features/improvements in our Bitcointalk forum (as in code) or extend the tools/websites that allows us to have a better reading/understanding of the same forum. With the latter perspective in mind should I name this website[4]? Or these [5][6]? Either way, I think that after spending some time in the forum any user ends up remembering LoyceV and understandably so - he is there where the discussion happens, always willing to go the extra mile to explain his point of view, or to simply expand on an idea from other user[7]. It takes dedication, motivation and effort to have that daily drive, and I think that his behavior makes him suitable for this award.

  4. Bitcoin Geek: gmaxwell, mocacinno

• I feel that these two users, from what I read from, are really "embedded" within the Bitcoin system. Sure there are others within the forum that provides just as good replies/information, but from the top of my mind these were the ones that I just felt like were a match for this nomination.

  5. Event of the Year: TheBitcoinTalkShow

• Since this is an ongoing incredible community effort, I couldn't think of a more suiting nomination. Cyrus is doing a pretty good job, and he's actively receiving and gathering feedback from the community, so I'm really interested in knowing where this project may lead.

  6. Fail of the Year: theymos for mistakenly sending a Cooper Membership excess payment[8] to another address.

• With this nomination I just want to highlight that EVERYONE is prone to have something like this happen (regarding crypto payments). This is to spread awareness to everyone one out there that they really should triple check their address whenever they are making a payment. Newbies that may be reading this : Have you wondered how many transactions theymos must have made by now? I honestly think that it's a pretty high number and still he made a mistake (after all we are all humans!). No matter how many transactions any of us has made, I for sure will have this event has a memory and will continue to diligently check my address every time I have to pay/receive crypto.

  7. Discovery of the Year: n0nce

• To me, there isn't anyone more suitable than n0nce. Ranging from good technical replies, to awesome projects and in-depth reviews, his work is for sure remarkable! If a 1/3 of all new users were like this, I'm sure it would benefit the community greatly. While this is not a reliable indicator, having a +-1,5 merit/post (as of now) has to count for something, if not to show that his replies do "infiltrate" a lot of our thoughts in a positive way right?

  8. Best SpamBuster: Ratimov

• I'm still unsure how can Ratimov achieve this[9] track record. My guess is that we're dealing with some sort of AI that has elevated to the state of self conciscouness and is now operating from a lunar base out in the galaxy. On a more serious note, incredible work and dedication! Thank you so much Ratimov!

• I feel like that I still don't have an opinion on this matter, mainly because I don't browse (as actively as others) the section where that kind of reporting is made... It is something that I plan to do this year, so I hope I have a fitting nominee next year!

• Same reason as above - I usually have fixed sections that I tend to be and I don't have a name for this nomination. Even after reading some that were chosen I didn't felt it was natural for me naming any of them because I didn't had a mental connection with anything that I had seem from them (then again, I should visit other forum sections more often). I promise next year I'll have a nomination for this!

• I do consider that this designation may be too broad (after all there is a lot to be said about moderator/staff work that we users are unaware), so I'll just nominate two users whom I've exchanged some thoughts or I've read many times his/her view regarding a particular topic (related with the forum itself but not only!) - at least compared to other moderators. As an interesting fact (at least to me), and considering Welsh replies, I do imagine him being a laid out guy, thoughtful, calm and someone that we are able to have a discussion almost about anything. I wonder if he will ever give an interview for the future segment in the YT channel?
