What is the reason for this marketplace

I'm new here and I wonder what this thread is for. If people simply could buy and sell crytos via Binance and Co. why do the buy and sell here?

It's because this marketplace for altcoins isn't just all about buying and selling cryptocurrencies. Stuff that is for sale and the seller is good receiving payments in altcoins, that's one reason for this marketplace. Physical goods that can be paid in altcoins, that's it.
This isn't the only marketplace existing for that purpose, there are many of them actually and in the forum, there are others too that you can see like the Goods section.

Most at times people may not have or want to reveal their identity by doing kyc to some reputable exchange such as you have mentioned above. Reputable escrow service provider can get involved to enable you sell and buy without going through the exchange accounts ect.

Because of several personal reasons such as people prefer to be anonymous since we all know most of the exchanges ask KYC thing to its users, that's why someone would tend to p2p exchange through this forum or others. On the other hand, it could be they are trying to avoid high prices or fees in charge on its exchange platform

The reason is some people may not feel so good to be forced by centralized exchange site like binance to reveal their identity and they wanna keep their privacy and that's why this sub section was exist and i should remind you that if this sub section exist even before binance was alive in the crypto market. It doesn't mean anyone will always be willing to transact their tokens on the centralized exchange site and they didn't wanna reveal their face to the exchange site. The only thing must become the main concern when doing p2p in this sub section is you must use escrow to make sure your transaction will be going smoothly.
Binance and centralized exchange site will not always become the reason and it's not all of tokens or coins listed on binance exchange site.
