Only you can decide that, do the tests, use miners then decide if is worth or not, maybe you find a gem that is worth.

You won't make a dime even if the GPU manages to work with a PoW algorithm, I'm looking at cryptonight coins but that depends if the miner software will support the GPU, too old honestly

I actually had that GPU before it was called Cedar or something like that. And I tried mining with it Litecoin back in the day and I got something like 10kh/s.

Which is horrible when back then a r9 280x pulled about 700kh/s. So even though it had like 1gb of ram which was considered a lot back then you couldn’t mine anything with it really.

These days a 280x is considered slow. So imagine how bad a 5450 will be.

Money makes money that's what i learned in crypto world for 7 years now , no free money no junk hardware mining , you have to pay for a good gear to mine with or pay for a good investment for a good return , trust me now free money here

Yet I still get away with a 7970 mining electroneum coin in 2017, it was so rewarding and I sold at peak of 2018 when altcoins are mooning, later this GPU went cold when many coins decided to abandon cryptonight algorithm, everything is base on timing in this world, anyways that's that

OP you can get 1660 for mining or 6600 AMD I think this are the lowest spec GPU for mining but price? Wait for a while GPU could be cheaper once again

It is impossible to put into words how useless these video cards are in mining. Sell them if you find a buyer. Check out the list of current video cards for mining. But the profit falls very strongly.

Another problem with old GPUs is SW availability. New mining SW doesn't support old cards.
You also need old drivers to support the old HW, and an old OS that supports the drivers.
After all that, if you can get it running, all you have is a space heater.

That GPU only do 12-13MH on Ethereum hashrate and if you OC the GPU it won't go over 14MH, can this ever be considered as a good GPU for crypto mining even if one can find them at MSRP price? I think otherwise the ordinary gtx1660 is way better, the hynix will do 27MH and the Samsung will do 24-25MH

Don't joke like that with newbies because he can do it. Now is not the best time to buy video cards. There are options to purchase video cards in the secondary market, but you need to be a good specialist so as not to be deceived. I wouldn't buy a RX 6500 either.

Highly recommend doing your overclock beforehand, undervolt and upping clock speeds etc. Takes some time to get spot on, but I'm sure you'll find people who have used this card on Google without much trouble  Smiley Cheesy Grin Roll Eyes

I strongly recommend that you first study the capabilities of the video card for overclocking, lowering the voltage, and then make purchases. There are a lot of videos on YouTube and it's free. But beginners first buy a video card, and then think about how to mine on it.
