It's been discussed partly before, but I want to add a new idea.
The problem. In the Ann section.
When you are posting an advice, warning or any other information, but you don't want to use your bumping power + bump the project on the 1st page.
The solutions:1.
Making a ON/OFF button when to use your bumping power. Pros: Clean and easy solution.
Cons: Theymos has to make changes, and of course the fear of the "butterfly effect".
2.
A workaround. Whitelisting of ppl to disable the 24H cool down time when deleting posts and then the "solution" Loycev came up with some time ago (se the quote below): Pros: Less work and stress for Theymos
Cons: More work for all of use who want to use that
We don't know how it affects our bumping score (at least I don't know)
I also would like an option to enable/disable my bumping power when replying on threads in such sections.
That's very easy: make a post, delete the post, and post again.
I recently tested it and this works:
Mini bumps
If you haven't posted in a topic in the last 7 days, posting in it adds 1% of your base bump power to the topic's bump score. Deleted posts count against the 7-day limit, but not the topic's bump score.
The way I read it, you can delete your post so it still counts for the 7-day limit, but doesn't add to the bump score anymore. Then, you can post there again, and it won't add to the bump score because you've posted within the last 7 days already.
If it works, this is a workaround I can live with
Unfortunately, this doesn't work if the board doesn't allow you to delete your post within 24 hours.
