I've been running cgminer just fine for about a month and half now, yesterday it did it's last share at around 10 AM (UTC) and then while still running switched to this message: pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid. I've tried different credentials and checked all the settings. the settings are as follows:

D:\cgminer\cgminer-run\cgminer.exe --bmsc-options 115200:20 -o mining.bitcoin.cz:com3 -u User.Worker1 -p password

With several different tries of input on worker and password settings.

I run this one with two Asic 1.6 Ghash antminers.

The pool is working fine, other people there don't seem to be having this difficulty.

I can use GUIminer to mine with my GPU just fine but I never did get that one to work with my Ant-miners.

I disabled Kapersky antivirus and added cgminer to my firewall exceptions but nothing seems to work.

Please help,

John

change mining.bitcoin.cz:com3 to stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 and make sure your username and password is correct.

Hey thanks,

That worked. I don't know why it used to work under the old settings and then all of a sudden didn't.

Does anyone have a theory?

Greetz,

John

You accidentally edited the file and replaced 3333 with com3.

I don't think so. It worked on the com3 setting for months, it was a mistake that was in there from the beginning. It had actually been running for three days when the error occurred. It shared at 10.50 AM and when I turned on my monitor at 11.20 it read the error message on the bottom of its list of last shares. So I know that wasn't it.

I was running CGminer 3.8.1, Is it possible that it tried to update itself and could not run with a faulty setting?

No such thing as com3 that would be recognised by cgminer
