I want to transfer btc from coinbase to nano ledger.  I have never done this.  I previously had coins sent from nano ledger to coinbase just to store some there.  I remember paying the network fees only on nano ledger side.  But when you are withdrawing from coinbase, there is a fee right?  If so, what is it?  I remember withdrawing from binance.com and the btc withdraw fee was a flat 0.005 btc fee a while back.

What exactly is the fee when doing this?  Because when I went to coinbase account and clicked on withdrawing btc from my coinbase account on my computer, for some reason I can't choose the amount of btc I want to withdraw. but the USD amount?  Also why does it not show the btc amount that I am withdrawing on coinbase?

Now if I use my iphone, you have to type in the USD amount from coinbase on the coinbase app that you want to withdraw?  It does show the total btc amount though.  But you cannot choose to send a certain amount of btc from coinbase and it needs to be in USD?  That makes zero sense.  I am trying to send the btc to from coinbase to my nano ledger.

There's an "up-down arrows" button at the right-hand side of the send window, it will switch the value from fiat to BTC (and vice versa).

Yes, there's a fee.
A selection of fee rate will be shown after you click "Continue".

Ok just noticed the up and down.  I never seen any site do this.

So the fee rate is going to depend on the coin?  Or is it what the average fee is right now for sending that coin?  Because I don't want a surprise like okay you will get this amount sent to your nano ledger... only for it to be much less because of the fee.

Just like other custodial wallets, it depends on their fee-estimation algorithm that's partly based from the average size of the mempools.

After clicking "Continue", the funds wont be sent immediately, you'll see another window showing the fee rate and the previous info.
There should be a settings icon near the fee where you can customize it.

They'll give you a preview of the fee before you hit send on your transaction.

I think I was quoted either 300 or 3000 sats (so it was a lot cheaper than binance's and many other website's flat fee of 0.0005+)

You mean 0.0005 BTC. 0.005 BTC is ridiculous fee from an exchange that use fixed fees for transaction fees.

Is this the non-custodial wallet of coinbase you are using or the exchange/account, if you bought that bitcoin on their exchange/account then it's probably had to show in your local currency.

Fees may vary on lots of things, but sending this time will only require smaller fee 5 sat/vbyte enough I guess, and I think it will not as high as $2
