It's been a big trend on social media since the Canadian shared his bet slips containing how much he staked on the super bowl in bitcoin. And how much he will receive in bitcoin if the Rams defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Los Angeles, which is about $2.29 million in bitcoin. The betting industry has a great acceptance of bitcoin. He made other stakes using bitcoin as well. But, what matters is how more celebrities with big fan Bases promote bitcoin. It's such a better way of increasing the usage of bitcoin in Betting Firms.

I don't personally think that it will be a boost to the popularity of Bitcoin because that Drake doing is something not unusual. Not just him but it's not the first time that someone popular places a bet for Bitcoin in the Super Bowl event although I don't have any reference to support that claim.

Bitcoin is also widely used now on gambling and some gambling platform are already popular with this such as Stake, Sportsbet.io, and unfortunately, even the worst 1xBit.

But on the good side, a PR like that is interesting for me since they are promoting a crypto-gambling website, not just a fiat website.

Possible that Stake paid Drake in order to post the slip on Twitter, but knowing Drake's gambling habits, it's not entirely unbelievable for him to place such a huge bet amount using bitcoin. Then again, what's suspicious about this is that most of his bets were on Stake, not only on the sports category but also on other games hosted by the platform. It's sneaky and also deceptive if ever, but legally there's nothing wrong if he didn't disclose it as an ad (I stand corrected on the legal part.)

Celebrities can promote a product without a disclosure there's a possibility that he did get paid to make the bet more realistic but we should not be surprised if Drake is playing and prefer to bet on Stake they sponsor a lot of sporting events and they are popular in Cryptocurrency because of their reputation and how they promote themselves, I'm also hoping that Drake wins and this will promote celebrities like him to choose Cryptocurrency in their sports betting and it's a win for us.

This story is hard to believe despite the rapper in the subject have the money to wager such a huge amount of money but I will only believe the story if Drake comes out and make the announcement by himself because this could be a promotion. No hard feelings but just saying my thought.
However, if this story is true then it means Drake was a long term investor of Bitcoin

Possibly a long time investor or not its still his money and he could play whenever he do wants and as a platform on which if you do know that something popular like Drake is playing on your platform

then its just normal that you would really be taking advantage and trying to announce things because this would really be a good exposure for your business which could really benefit out.

It would be great if they would be posting out the result of such bet which would really be appealing to look at.

This is not only going to benefit the gambling platform Stake but also Bitcoin itself and crypto. This wager by Drake has made headlines in the news not only because of how large the amount is but also because it was made in Bitcoin.

Drake is a famous personality not only in the US but also in the whole world. This is definitely going to promote Bitcoin. Not to mention that Super Bowl is being followed by millions of people also.

If I am not mistaken this bet by Drake has already won.

That is correct, both of them made it famous because it is extremely large and also because it is bitcoin. But, has anyone considered whether that is really Drake's money or whether it is for stake.com, given that it was sponsored? I'm not sure about this, but whether or not it is sponsored, it has a significant impact on the site as a whole, as well as the bitcoin community. Bitcoin is becoming increasingly well-known, thanks to the fact that celebrities are already talking about it.

It is an interesting question. It is very possible that the money used was actually owned by Stake.com, although it is also equally possible that the very rich Drake has indeed made that huge bet on a sport he is a fan of. Both possibilities could be the truth.

But does that matter? This is about marketing. We all know that our favorite artists and celebrities don't actually use many of the products they promote. They don't use the supplement, smart phone, soap, shave, shampoo, toothpaste, etc that they are openly promoting in public. That could very well be the case with Drake's bet.

There's no prior announcement on Drake about him being an investor of Bitcoin, it's just now that he posted on his Instagram that he bets a huge amount of Bitcoin, there's a possibility that he is not the only one and that many celebrities are already betting and holding Cryptocurrency without announcing that they are investing.

First news about Drake winning a bet of $ 1.3 million, I am a little doubtful, information about Drake is very minimal only one source and even then comes from ukraine, As time goes by, the news about Drake winning bets is getting more and more talked about.
Like NEW YORK POST:
Drake lays down $1.3 million Super Bowl bet in bitcoin

I wasn't sure before, now I believe Drake did it on the Stake betting site, win Drake has the ability to bet fantastic values.

No wonder the Stake gambling site is now viral in the discussion on social media, with just one person, Stake soars.

Yes, the more public figures talk about cryptocurrencies and platforms that accept cryptocurrencies, the more widely they will be used. I am glad that recently many countries have come to the issue of regulation of cryptocurrencies instead of banning them and this is all thanks to people who spread information about the positive sides of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies in many areas of our life.

In my opinion, a ban on cryptocurrencies would be useful for their development  Roll Eyes Now they are gradually turning into fiat and are completely under the control of banks and regulators. I do not like it. Better a tough war than strangulation in "friendly" hugs. By the way, as I understand it, Drake made bets using not cryptocurrency but Canadian dollars.

I didn't know that he was betting in Canadian dollars, but in any case Stake got good publicity and it means that they have an influx of new users, some of whom may become familiar with cryptocurrencies.

In my opinion prohibition of cryptocurrencies would significantly reduce the number of crypto-enthusiasts and create quite a lot of problems for miners, validators, cryptocurrency casinos, exchanges, etc. and accordingly slowed down the development of this industry.

Regardless if he's truly betting his own asset or he's paid to do so, we in crypto space benefits from this. No matter if he's advertising Bitcoin or the betting platform, it could still catch people's attention about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

From the look of it, it looks more of a promotion to the gambling platform than just flexing his bets. I'm not a Drake follower but If he's not posting his bets regularly then you know what this means. I mean he's a huge fan of the Toronto Raptors pretty sure he would put a bet more often in NBA if he really do.

I disagree with you, the "crypto space" as you call it, doesn't need bad publicity, it needs positive one. Its image highly suffers from all the hacks and scams in the area. Then if big stars like him scam people by showing fake bets and fake winnings on crypto casinos, it will hurt the reputation of cryptos at the end.

Drake was a figure in the Toronto Raptor'schampionship game against the Golden State Warriors I'm sure in the past he is betting huge with his favorite team but he never announce it for an unknown reason, I think this bet is true because he is a gambler and has a history of betting big amount and he never cared about his losses and his choice of Stake is obvious because this is a reputable online casino but it's indeed a big surprised that he's a Bitcoin supporter.

Rather than solely being a better way of increasing the usage of bitcoin in betting firms and online casinos using cryptocurrency, I think its an overall win for Bitcoin adoption as a whole. Its really up to the so called influencers to spread the marketing for adoption.

Wagering $1.3 million Dollars in the super bowl using bitcoin might be a very good thing for American adoption only though, seeing as other countries don't really know nor care for the superbowl. I have yet to hear a single European being exciting for any superbowl.

Just like that, Drake made a millions as he bet on Rams. I wonder if he only bet on Stake and not with the other site. Also, congrats to those who place their bet, I was able place mine and now I’m happy with the result. Looking forward for the next Million bet of Drake, maybe in NBA next.

I'm looking at the bet slip and it show that his bet is on Beckham to run he'd run 62.5 receiving yards.

Did Beckham got 62.5 receiving yards?

But yeah if he bet straight up with the Rams, he won his bet.

And then Beckham scoring a touchdown as well. So it's a big win for Drake, but need someone to confirm his bet on the receiving yards for Odell.
He has placed three bets. One is on the winning. He won the bet as Rams won the match. The next one is the Odell Beckham Jr over 62.5 receiving yards, and this is a lost bet. The last one is the Odell Beckham anytime touch down, which is a win for him.

Ok thanks for the clarification, if not for Odell getting injured it could be 3 out of 3 win for Drake.

But then again, a win is still a win so this is a classic example on how whales really make huge profits in gambling. Big capital even though the odds are not that huge, the returns are still profitable for them.

I guess the OP can close this thread for good, we already have a super bowl champion.

One last thing though, that halftime presentation, dope, one of the best if not the best super bowl halftime (maybe just next to Beyonce performance).  Smiley

It's the other way around. Banning cryptocurrencies will accelerate the development of the industry and increase the number of crypto enthusiasts. Problems lead to a demand for solutions. At the moment, cryptocurrencies are being absorbed by the fiat world and the number of crypto enthusiasts is steadily falling.

I do not know what solutions you are talking about if the use of cryptocurrencies will face criminal liability. Half of the users will simply get scared of responsibility and stop using cryptocurrencies. In my opinion, the ban will allow only anonymous cryptocurrencies and solutions allowing to mask transactions to develop, which is a rather small part of the cryptocurrency world.

They certainly have the money to do it, if they were able to get so many famous people to represent them, but if anything like that came out both Stake and Drake would lose some credibility. More probably they gave him some discount to play and posting the screenshot was his choice. It was an expensive ad by Stake because he won a lot of money, but I'm sure it will be profitable for them in the long run.
If we're talking legal stuff, do you really have to disclose every single deal you get. Say you get a free tesla from Musk. Does driving it and posting pictures on social media count as paid advertising? If there was no contract between the parties that made you post these pictures, there's no obligation for you to even disclose that the car was a freebie.

News of Drake's victory spread everywhere and it could make many people look and want to find out the truth.
And people will see Stake as one of the popular sites using crypto and Drake betting on that site.
That will make many people visit Stake.com and try to bet there.
It can be a great means of promotion for Stake because they can get a chance to get more members who will gamble on their site.
Haven't seen it in the social media sites that I use but I only see the news inside the forum. It is not a widespread or this news was still early and it can take a couple of time before people talk about this and that's the time it will spread like a wildfire. If they are a curious type of person they will search for every detail of the news for them to know if it is true or not but they should be careful on some sites that doesn't tell the truth about stake casino.

There are fake review sites that tells stake is not a good casino to gamble on. If ever they will gamble and it was their first time they should be careful too because gambling is an addictive thing.

I agree, the effect on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will be minimal, however the effect when it comes to gambling with cryptocurrencies could be important, after all I still remember the days in which I gambled with fiat and it was a pain that every single casino wanted your information and you had no way to avoid it, casinos that use cryptocurrencies are a lot more lenient when it comes to this and will only force people to go through KYC under very specific circumstances, which means that if you are just a normal player then you have nothing to worry about.

US is a superbowl craze and other countries can't match that, lucky stake.com get great promotion from drake. Both parties benefit from this incident.

Yes, there's no announcement about him being an investor of Bitcoin but he advertised an NFT project is a sign that he's somehow into cryptocurrency but I couldn't see Drake making any post on his Instagram about making the huge bet in the super bowl game.

However, if this story is true then it means Drake was a long term investor of Bitcoin
First news about Drake winning a bet of $ 1.3 million, I am a little doubtful
I also doubt the genuine of this information and I can only accept it to be true if Drake makes a statement about it.
