I think that bet was just to attract other bettors to follow him and I'm sure a lot of them did just like that as sheep effect can be huge sometimes , especially if a superstar promotes it. I think the gambling that drake did is a business for him. Rich people always think of how to increase their wealth so to be relevant always. No rich person that will depend just on a single  job. Yes, it is clear that his goal is to earn big because he bets in the lower odds and his bets are also huge.
