Totally newbie bitcoin user question

Sorry if this isn’t where it supposed to go, I honestly have no idea. :-) I am a blind iPhone user who uses voiceover to do the various things that I need to do on my phone. I’m wondering what is an accessible app to buy/sell/send/receive bitcoin? The bitcoin.com app doesn’t seem to be very accessible to me, as I can’t seem to put an exact number of bitcoin decimal places. Blockchain seems to be good, except the buttons are not labeled very well. I wonder if I buy bitcoin using the bitcoin app, could I then import the fact that I bought that into my Blockchain apps wallet? Sorry for the lengthy/confusing post. This is a very specific case, it is certainly a topic for consideration to adapt the application to visually impaired people like you.

it would be good if you could explain to us what you plan to do with that crypto in the future. you want to be active in the market or you just want to buy some Bitcoin(cryptocurrency) and hold.
If you will have frequent withdrawals from there, you probably need to pay attention to services with the lowest withdrawal fee. You don't want to spend a lot of money on transactions.
Also, the whole thing depends a lot on where you are from. most services have restrictions on certain countries.

as far as I remember https://crypterium.com/ maybe it could be the solution for you. they have a yellow/black colour combination it may be more acceptable to you. they also have their own visa card, which could make it easier for you to use in the future.
I wouldn't ignore big exchanges like https://ftx.com it is also possible to buy a crypto and trade with them. noting that they do not have a withdrawal fee for certain transactions which makes them very attractive.

The coinbase and crypto.com app seem to work quite well with my voiceover software (but I'm using android).

I'd avoid using bitcoin.com as they're not very trusted due to mislabelling bitcoin as bitcoin core (at least in the past, not sure if they're still doing it).

Apps might be easier to use than websites but some websites (like pro.coinbase.com are cheaper so it might be helpful to get someone you trust to help using it instead to save on fees).

Also text to speech might not work well for withdrawing funds to your own wallet instead of keeping them on the exchange so this might be something to consider but might not be much of a problem.

I recommend you to avoid blockchain.com wallet. It's close source and there is no way to know whether the keys are stored on their server or not. Their wallet is also very buggy.

I just visited bitcoin.com. They are no longer doing that. Of course, they are still unreliable.

I think the major place this discussion is suppose to be posted is a Bitcoin discussion board, you can equally move this thread to bitcoin discussion section,but from my own personal suggestion i will like you to purchase Bitcoin directly to am officially exchange like binance instead of using a app that is unofficial and unknow to your understanding, in binance you can buy Bitcoin and also sell, so i think it's recommendable.

Sorry that I replied to you while quoting your message, I don’t know how else to do it. No, color schemes wouldn’t do anything for me, as I am totally blind. Thus, I rely solely on text to speech to get done what I need to get done. I will be buying bitcoin, and then spending at various places. I’m from the US. Yes, you can buy bitcoin on bitcoin.com and many other services and send the fund to any wallet you want.

If you have bitcoin on bitcoin.com wallet and you want to access the fund using other wallets, you have two options.
1. Exporting the seed phrase and importing it into any wallet supporting BIP39 seed phrases.  (In this case, you don't make any transaction)
2. Making a transaction from bitcoin.com wallet to any wallet you fund. (This option is more secure, because you will no longer need to trust bitcoin.com)

So if I wanted to get money from the bitcoin app and then put it into Coinbase or something, or even Blockchain I guess considering those two apps are actually accessible with voiceover on iOS, shout out to the guy who is using talk back with android by the way,  would  I’d be charged any fees from going from Wallet to Wallet? Because it looks like the bitcoin app accepts Apple Card, whereas Coinbase does not.

Yes, you can buy bitcoin on bitcoin.com and many other services and send the fund to any wallet you want.

As I was reading the discussion, I was asking myself, do you have to do this alone? It seems to me things are a little bit more complicated for a blind person like you, at least as far as the current designs of wallets are concerned.

I guess you really need a helping hand here. Surely, though, I believe you are with someone you could trust. I was thinking of seed phrases and private keys and passwords and whatnot and how to safely keep them. Cold storage is the preferred way. I don't know if you can manage to do it alone with only the technologies available to you.

Sorry if you are actually asking to test it out but no legitimate user who wants to buy Bitcoin won't be asking to send some bitcoin for testing. You found the app right? Then there is no hurry just try it when you actually buy Bitcoin and let us know.

His post attracted about thousand plus upvotes. While I was being skeptical about the real state of OP, I saw his reply that is somewhat questionable, right now, I don't even know what to believe.

What do you need help believing? For me anyway, the best accessible app is the bitcoin app. It seems to do everything that I wanted to do. I am blind as well.

You didn’t offend me at all. No it’s not a scam, however I understand your skepticism. I just want to test it out and see how it works before I end up spending my actual money to get some. Also, I’ve heard that it’s not good to store bitcoin for several days at a time. And actually if somebody were to send me some, I’m not sure how I would get that back to them. Is there a refund option or something?

To test you want real money of someone else's instead of yours, which isn't wrong?

You can store Bitcoin for years if you control the private keys of your wallet so it totally depends on the wallet you're choosing and if you are going to use custodial wallet then don't keep too much for long time.

You can refund the Bitcoins to the address from where you received which can be found using the TXid on any blockchain explorer.

Bitcoin.com wallet is close-source and we don't know how much secure it is. Since we don't have any information about it, it's better to assume that it's not secure and go for an open-source wallet.

A thousand  thank you’s for that application recommendation. BlueWallet on iOS works fantastic. Now, here’s a question about fees. What would have the lowest amount of processing/network fees? From what I’ve seen, the network fee seems to be standard at about $.20, though I only checked two apps, and they use the same payment processor interestingly enough, moon pay. And, do the fees vary from day to day/time to time or even from transaction a transaction? For example, if I did it on BlueWallet the transaction fees would be about four dollars and some change,  but if I did it on the Bitcoin.com app it would be about $6.37. Naturally I want to do it on BlueWallet, because it’s lower… also how did the fees get charged, because from what I’ve seen, though I haven’t actually submitted the transaction, I did $50 in bitcoin, and all I would pay is $50, but it said something about having to charge fees. I’m so confused. :-) Also, how much would you receive when you actually do a transaction, would it be a little bit less than what you actually paid, or a little bit more, or does a very even been? Sorry for all the questions.
