Overclock S9i with OEM Bitman Firmware

Hi all,

I have an S9 and an S9i that are running well.  The S9 is overclocked at 725Mhz by using the OEM Bitman firmware ANTMINER-S9-all-201705031838-650M-user-Update2UBI-NF.tar.gz 

This version of  S9 firmware allows fixed frequencies to be accessed through a hidden interface at  http://.../cgi-bin/minerAdvanced.cgi... thus allowing overclocking of the S9 for free.

I'm wondering if there's an OEM Bitman firmware version that will allow selection of fixed frequencies (thus overclocking) for the S9i?

That same feature is found "hidden" on the S9i firmware version, just look for the same version/release date and it will be there.

Another option would be using the mutli-option version which can give you an extra 2 terahash.

And just so you know, the original s9 firmware works just fine on both the s9i and s9j, that is not true for s9k and s9se.

There is no the same version or firmware with the same date release and all of their firmware for this unit is autofreq.
The only firmware option is that the firmware with multi-option user firmware overclock the miner a bit or flash it with customed firmware.

In fact, I am certain it will work just fine, how do I know? I tried it before (I forgot that I had it in the previous post).

I do not want to advertise any custom firmware, but just so you know, the "overclocking" on the stock firmware isn't all that great when it comes to power consumption/temps, so if you are in a cold place and pay no power bills then the stock firmware is your best option because of the no-fee.

OP, thierry4wd is a trusted fellow miner here, you can use his modified version as well.

For say all ... My mod for all S9 is based with OEM bmminer pulled from S9J multi option firmware, and i juste set option 'fixed' start... just option missing to remove by bitmain 

my mod are tested on ALL S9 model (S9 , S9I , S9J) without any problem !

I agree, OEM multi option is not very good, if you make overclock, this firmware take automaticaly high voltage ! is not good for temp and efficiency of corse...

Multi option makes more sense than fixed frequencies. The chips themselves are not the same, and precisely because the manufacturer started mixing them to reduce loses from low yield chips they introduced the "auto" (tuning) firmware.

You can easily have one single chip unable to go past 650MHz holding all the others down. In reality, it tends to be more than one...

Fixed frequency is useful for the opposite, to use low fixed frequencies when you are repairing a hashboard, which is why you can disable the autotuner in Braiins OS+.
