In November, 2019, I received a pop message in my mobile phone says, "You won the Coca-Cola annual online Draw. You email address was selected through a computer ballot system from among other active email address user from the web," the email states.

How to Claim the  Prize : Send you details as stated below to Mr Osca Franklin through email admin@e-claimdept.com"

The email asks recipients to include their full name, country, mobile number, date of birth and occupation.

After the reading the message, I called the company in my country.. https://www.coca-cola.com.ng/our-company/contact and they said, they are not doing any promo or Bonanza. So I discovered that it was scam.

In November, 2019
Nov 2019? That is about two years ago, why still post about it? Especially when it is nothing new, just the usual type of scam.
The email asks recipients to include their full name, country, mobile number, date of birth and occupation.
If you had sent, then the reply would request you to send some money to claim your price, still nothing new.
So I discovered that it was scam.
Yes it is, or was. Still nothing new mate.

Thanks for sharing your experience here, there is nothing like old or new scam, scam is scam because you never know when you will experience it. I haven't heard about this before but now I have knowledge of it.

You know, people are too quick to react when it comes to reputable companies. Most times, they don't know how to verify when a message happens to be legit or from the original source or not.

What makes it even the more sad is that, scammers follows the legit site and platforms of these companies and watch out for a opening, maybe some bonus coming up on a service, a giveaway or an anniversary whatever in order to give back to there customers and quickly, they clone it, reproduce it and its out on the masses.

In cases like this, before you go with anything, you just got to ensure your following the original platform and never give in to anything that isn't coming of there page. Luckily, sites have got a sort of badge to identify verified platforms or pages. Know them and you just might be safe or better still, forget about any promotions if you find it risky.

I patiently read through and was expecting to see where Coca-Cola scammed people with bitcoin or something related to that. But I was outrightly disappointed to notice that there is nothing relating Bitcoin in the OP.
I would have advised that you move your topic to the reputation board, meanwhile the attempted scam was not related to the forum or Bitcoin it's and it happened like 2 years ago. So, it doesn't fit in reputation as well. Maybe you can consider moving it to off topic.

It doesn't fit in reputation board because the crime wasn't committed or attempted by a forum member. Scam topics should be in scam accusations, what I understand from the OP coca cola didn't attempt to scam you so the title is misleading, that's something you should correct. Like kingsden I think this shouldn't even be a topic here imo. . You're right OP move to off-topic

OP you spelled coca-cola as coka-cola.

99% of the time when someone says you won something, it's most likely a scam.
