Last holdout of my collection.  I have been tempted to open it a few times, but I would really rather find it a good home.

I am asking 25.5 BTC or equivalent of another major crypto.  

Buyer must come pick it up at the vault it is stored in (North Dakota).

I don't know what the vue of all the forks are.  But wouldn't getting the forks and selling the unloaded 25btc coin be worth more than trying to swing this deal?  Just seems like a lot of effort and risk on your end.  Why not just go that route?

I think that they still would come out ahead by a few thousand dollars (is that worth the hassle I guess is the question).  There's about $7,200 worth of bitcoin cash (dividends), bitcoin gold $700 and likely a few others.  If bitcoin sv is a fork ( I think it is? ) that's another $2k.  The coin by its self worth a $2-3k.. so still comes out a head by a few thousand. 

Does anyone have a website or app or whatever that you plug in a bitcoin amount and it shows you the dollar value of forks?

Just having the old uncirculated funds is worth a lot more than the forks or small premium in my opinion 🤔 but peeling such an amazing collectible woukd be almost impossible  for me also lol  I definitely admire you for offering before destroying 😉

The transaction can be done at the vault it's being held in.  I did this previously last year when I sold my 10 BTC piece.

A trusted courier service is an option. I know there are a few members here that offer this service. From what I understand they charge a flat fee (based on value of item) along with airfare, hotel, meals etc. We do not hear about it much because these transactions are typically not made public.

25 bch = 7152 USD
25 bsv = 2133 USD
25 btg = 709 USD
250 bcd = 199 USD
25 mil xec = 1807 USD

this is about 12,000 USD

of course there would be network fees, conversion fees etc but thats just the top 5


edit - if you import into ballet - DO NOT use their conversion, it fucks up and takes all the coins on the same address - tried it twice and this happened.  So if you do import it, xfer each coin out to an exchange then convert.

so did you sell the coin or opened it in the end? If I had a pice like that I would probably open it. Even though this is probably worth the trouble to get it auctioned in some large auction house?

My understanding is there were 487 total Series 2 - 25 BTC coins, which makes them less rare than the 345 total series 1 - 25 BTC coins (referencing the Ahonen encyclopedia here).

However, it seems you're referring to the "load year" of an S2 coin? In that case, then yes, only 29 of the S2 25 BTC coins were loaded in 2011.

That being said, the coin above appears to be loaded in 2012, along with 196 other coins. Do people really care about the load year, though?

Yeah load year and even load month is definitely a thing.  Find an early ~September 2011 loaded error coin it will go for much more than the same error coin that was loaded months later.  For me personally I value matching load year and year the coin was struck as "more valuable" than ones that are not.  This is just me others don't care either way.

  Hell yeah....Load date should match coin date. First day loading even better and pricier as well.
