Check the date , that is 2025. Who knows what will happen in 2025. If they need to ban crypto, why not ban in 2022 ? The fact is that this news are produced only to suppress the bitcoin price and create negatively. Don't know why it is done, perhaps some whales need to buy more cheap bitcoins.

European Parliament Postpones Vote on Crypto Regulations Indefinitely

'The European parliament has postponed its vote on the proposed regulatory package for crypto assets after a leaked draft drew criticism for including a provision that sought to ban the use of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin and ether in the European Union (EU) over energy concerns.

The parliament member in charge, who is known as the rapporteur, Stefan Berger, has asked for more time to clarify the provisions, according to a Twitter post he made on Friday. The parliament was supposed to vote on the draft for the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) framework on Feb. 28.'

European Parliament delays vote on crypto assets bill over proof-of-work debate
https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/135459/european-parliament-delays-vote-on-crypto-assets-bill-over-proof-of-work-debate

It does seem like the writing is on the wall for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, unless they can figure out a way to become more environmentally friendly. Unfortunately the complex calculations the blockchain is trying to solve creates a lot of wasteful duplication and all of the "wrong" answers translate into wasted energy. It comes down to a simple question - is the benefit of a decentralized currency better than existing payment networks. Quite simply they are not for the vast majority of use cases. If you can send a simple transaction between financial institutions already which costs a fraction of the energy of a bitcoin transaction then it will never be justified. It should be remembered that most of the world is currently in an energy crisis right now, so any way to conserve it will be looked upon favorably.

Yes, if intend to ban it, why wait years, and in my opinion, for bitcoin to 2025, bitcoin changes will definitely go further and become more popular and any related issues will be resolved soon.
because there's a lot of potential for bitcoin to become more popular in the future, and I think that's something to really pay attention to. And more and more businesses are starting to accept bitcoin as a way of payment and lots of other good news that I think will continue that in the end many countries have accepted it well.

We’ve been commenting this on my local board, and my view all along was that someone has blown the scale out of proportion, and what was likely related to discussing PoW mining, somehow scaled to an interpretation and echo of banning all services related to PoW coins.

(translated)
Quote
The vote of the EU Parliament on #MiCA will be canceled at my request and will not take place on February 28th. As a reporter, it is crucial for me that the MiCA report is not misinterpreted as a de facto #Bitcoin ban @btcecho.

The discussion about MiCA indicates that individual passages of the draft report can be misinterpreted & understood as a PoW ban. It would be fatal if the #EU Parliament were to send the wrong signal with a vote under these circumstances.

In this context, I see the urgent need to resume talks and negotiations with the parliamentary groups on this topic and to create clear facts on the #PoW question @paddi_hansen.

I will make another attempt with all stakeholders to reach a compromise that provides crypto assets with a proper legal framework but does not challenge #PoW .
https://twitter.com/DrStefanBerger/status/1497151798355898368

Berger, whom I believe was bearing the weight of the proposal, even seems to downplay the PoW discussion. Something to follow, but that likely should not raise all these bells and whistles.

Plus they should be careful. The technology they ban can and will be used against them by entities who would embrace, and weaponize it. Bitcoin’s underlying nature to weaken their strongholds in finance and finance and politics is not fully understood, nor is it priced in.

EU can not ban bitcoin, what will it profit their government to ban it, besides, bitcoin doesn't belong to a continent or country, that will make it difficult for them to ban it,they can only regulate it, in fact if they ban it, it will not have any benefit on their economy, I know before 2025 they will change their minds when they think about good things that bitcoin will offer their economy.

They can “ban” it, with the quotes. But to truly ban a censorship-resistant, decentralized cryptocurrency that you can store in your head through a memorized seed phrase is impossible.

Although an EU ban would be an interesting experiment for the Honey Badger.

European Parliament delays vote on crypto assets bill over proof-of-work debate
https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/135459/european-parliament-delays-vote-on-crypto-assets-bill-over-proof-of-work-debate

I don't really think Europe would outright ban bitcoin because bitcoin has so many users in various parts of Europe. In addition, they get taxes from bitcoin and other crypto transactions which somehow helps their economy. I guess they are just planning and organizing the moves and regulations they will lay down after 3 years which is why it is still so far ahead. I think they are counterchecking ways and other alternatives aside from banning bitcoin just because it is not environmentally friendly. After all, some bitcoin mining is now transitioning into greener and eco-friendly ways to mine bitcoin. Using geothermal and other renewable resources to be their main source of energy and power for the electricity consumption of mining btc is now being adapted in other countries. The pros and cons should be weighed down. And I believe they won't risk eliminating bitcoin usage because people would just resort to other ways of accessing it and making transactions which they don't want to happen obviously due to money matters.

Many times they have tried to ban bitcoin but to no avail. Why? Because they can't manipulate nor control it as well as the will of the users to utilize it. It will just be an endless race. So instead of banning, maybe they will come up with something that will benefit them and will be favorable to the people as well.

I think most countries' governments don't really know the best approach to apply when it comes to btc, I read that the bill to ban PoW has been postponed, I sense the main reason for the postponement is because of this latest development with Ukraine crypto donations, even if they won't publicly admit it, it must have influenced their decision somehow,  they have seen the power of crypto and decentralization.

From 2025? then it is too early to miked up this news. How foolish they will make people! Who can tell what is going to happen in the next three years? Let them sit with their shit paper money. think of Ukraine once in this situation, they have no gold in this situation.
So, with the outbreak of World War III by 2025, paper money will have no value, the only way is to supply bitcoin and gold.

Maybe not, or they'll realize that banning Bitcoin is really not a good idea. They never push through that banning proposal coz they don't have the support either. I see their influence is strong, the government could easily make ban Bitcoin if they saw illegalities in this but they don't, they saw nothing but just a helping tool to the people and also for the economy.
They will surely change their mind and instead of proposing to ban Bitcoin, it was best to support and focus on imposing tax than doing this coz this will only fail. Might be possible that some of these leaders are investing in Bitcoin already.

Banning the existence of btc will just create an underground market but not totally eliminating it. So for these governments, I would say it is best if they can just regulate their crypto businesses so they can get a hold of the taxes from this industry. Also, they have seen that there is no impact when China banned its miners. It may have caused temporary decline in the market, but btc goes up again. So considering a giant economy like China, which has not influenced much the market, how much more of other small countries can do to the btc market?

'Bitcoin will be banned in the EU starting from 2025 if the Commission and the Council of the EU don’t ditch a crippling amendment to the MiCA framework'

From 2025? then it is too early to miked up this news.

They are in a different situation now and what if total invasion of EU occurs right? In this time, this plan is far away from happening unless there could peace talks and all would be normal what it was years ago.

Plus if the E.U and the U.S. truly forces a "ban" on Bitcoin, and refuse to be any part of the network, then how could they help the nation-states that are forced to use it? Like Ukraine for example. Institutions and individuals in Ukraine will need and use Bitcoin.

Statement EU about the prohibition of Bitcoin, in my assessment is almost the same as what happened at that time against China, in fact for now Bitcoin can still be used by the Chinese.

2025, it's too early to say something obvious they can't do it, EU just said but can't do it, I'm sure Bitcoin in EU until 2050 is still fine, see you later if longevity.

For now? Anyone can actually use Bitcoin anytime in China, if they only have the tools and know the tricks. I know someone can say “debatable”, BUT laws cannot stop Bitcoin from being permissionless, and censorship-resistant. It will always be used where it’s needed.

I call it bluff,by 2025 i think we should see mass adoption, like really mass adoption, the average joe is now learning more and more about blockchain technologies and its variants,we they see what is it going to become they wont be out of it,but...in worst case scenario, bitcoin will forever live in the internet, even if the world outside of it ban it.

Why do you think that the European Union cannot ban mining and circulation of bitcoins? Even the reason they announced is that PoW cryptocurrencies are very energy intensive when mining and at the same time contribute to the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere enough that such cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, were unequivocally banned. Governments need to review their industries and take similar measures to prevent abrupt climate change. If they do this with their economy, then believe that the above decision to ban cryptocurrency will be accepted.
Bitcoin needs to switch to other algorithms or look for other solutions to get out of this situation and not expect that something can change for the better.

That's really interesting, as long as the Internet exists, there is no way to stop the use of Bitcoin. If there is technology to stop it, why does Bitcoin still exist in 10 years? Why not destroy Bitcoin, it shows that there is no such technology that can destroy Bitcoin.

Some powerful countries don't want to lose control, Bitcoin represents freedom, they are afraid that people can freely choose anything. They are trying to replace cryptocurrencies with their own national digital currencies. Bitcoin may be banned all the time in these countries, but that doesn't make a difference for Bitcoin. Bitcoin has proven itself over the years.

2025 is about three years from now. And between you and I, we know that this decision will definitely hit the rock. I don't see it coming to light.
Well, if they decide to do so, who cares. China did and the price of Bitcoin ended up soaring. They are just toothless dogs in the fight against Bitcoin. Let them keep fighting, they will always fail.
After China banned bitcoin mining in their country, then bitcoin moved to the United States, Russia and Kazakhstan, if only the deal happened and the European Union banned it again. Bitcoin for various reasons, I think bitcoin will look for other countries, because I believe and believe that bitcoin can never be banned, and the deal will never be approved by all the European Union, there must be a european country that will defend bitcoin, like what happened a few years ago.
