Majority of the vote, voted for Alvarez but I wouldn't surprise with that I look at his footwork and agility training as well as real match footage you would see that he is really a good fighter but Bivol is not also an easy opponent with a 19-0 standing with a 58% KO ratio.
Let's see, Canelo has defeated plenty of undefeated fighters in the past, so this is not new to him, and the fact that he agrees to fight Bivol, that tells us that he can handle the power of Bivol. I still think he would win this fight, maybe not by KO but his boxing skills will dominate. You are right besides Canelo has more fighting experience than Bivol we maybe can't see a knock out but I am sure Canelo would win this match but we can't be sure about it maybe if Bivol would be lucky he would get a good punch and knocked Canelo but just like Safari said he has a good footwork and good agility it will be really challenging for Bivol.

Canelo has never been knocked out in his career, he had one loss and that is against Mayweather because he got outboxed, therefore, Bivol has a lesser chance of winning if he cannot outboxed Canelo because Canelo is way faster than him.

But experienced, wise, Canelo has that huge advantage against Bivol, he can use that to prevent any possible attempt from Bivol. Let see once both of them are inside the ring and starting to throw their punches.

I think it's not that he can handle the power of Bivol, it's more of his talent against the best of this division. He has conquered this once, and for sure he knows that he can do it again even against the best of this division. That's why he is willing to fight the champion which is Bivol. And again, his granite chin can hold against the best of 168 lbs or even at 175 against Kovalev. So I wouldn't be surprised if Bivol's power doesn't have any effect on Canelo.

He already tastes those heavy and solid punches before it's just another little adjustment for him, and with the skills and talent that he has from this sport, it isn't hard for him to do it. Though boxing is not a sure deal, there's always upset that can take place. We can only say who's the winner is when the announcers read the name. Still equal, unless we saw them fighting and see who's making or converting solid punches, might not see a KO but a toe-to-toe fight would add the entertainment to all the fans and viewers.

They are both equal in terms of strength based on my observation and people just think Canelo will overpower Bivol because they only know Canelo by name and Bivol is not popular for them. Bivol's achievement is impressive and if he is just nothing, he shouldn't have those good records. This fight is equal and who's the one be able to stand for long will be the winner.

To spice things up and another set of discussions: Canelo Alvarez Enlists Oleksandr Gvozdyk as Sparring Partner for Bivol Bout The 34-year-old Gvozdyk, a native of Ukraine and bronze medalist in the 2012 Olympics, was regarded as one of the top light heavyweights in the sport for the years that he was active, from 2014-2019.
While the Ukrainian is stylistically different from Bivol, Gvozdyk’s size, power, and reliance on using distance and straight punches should make him a more-than-adequate sparring partner for Alvarez. As a professional, “The Nail” rarely went the distance in his bouts.
https://www.boxingscene.com/canelo-alvarez-enlists-oleksandr-gvozdyk-sparring-partner-bivol-bout--165450And so Alvarez training is in full swing, hired Oleksandr Gvozdyk to bring the best out of him in the LHW division. Although the style might be different, he need to have a good sparring partner and as big as Gvozdyk not to emulate Bivol, but to gauge the power in this division. Bivol was even asked about Canelo sparring heavyweight in preparation of their fight. And Bivol smiles and said, doesn't matter, Canelo can even spar with aliens, LOL, how can you not love this guy? And they also said that sparring is sparring and they can get anyone they want, but come fight night it will be very different from sparring.

Yes, he fought Kovalev as 175 lbs, Kovalev was tall and obviously the bigger guy and it took Canelo 11 rounds to finished him. And it is an old Kovalev, but against Bivol, who is also in his prime, so this is really a good test for Canelo because he said in the past that he will not fight anymore with this weight category. But I guess everything has change now for him.

Canelo doesn't have any choice but to face GGG once he wins against Bivol. It's already a talk that they need to win their respective fight. I don't think Canelo will change his mind as he also likes to shutdown GGG once and for all to truly send the latter into retirement.
Before he can do that though, he needs to take down Bivol first who is also a strong boxer and currently a champion.
Canelo already has experience fighting at Bivol's weight class and I'm sure he can handle it.
What about scenario, if Canelo looses to Bivol? Canelo has experience fighting in light heavy, but against Kovalev, who (most experts think) stepped in the ring for a cheque or to sell his belt for few millions. Bivol is younger, faster, more hungry than Kovalev, who is more interested in punching women than Canelo in 2019. Even amateur career of Bivol is more successful than Kovalevs. Even though Canelo has experience in LH, this fight is going to a serious test for him. I do not think it makes any difference, if Canelo were to lose to Bivol would GGG be less interested in fighting Canelo at that point? I do not think so, and what about Canelo? He may even need the fight as a way to recover some of the reputation that he would lose under that scenario and then challenge Bivol again, this is why the victory of GGG was the key for the fight to happen, as a defeat at that point could have allowed Canelo to avoid him by claiming GGG was a shadow of his former self.

The point is not that GGG is less interested, but Canelo sees no point of making a third fight against GGG. For Canelo, GGG is already a beaten opponent. If Canelo looses to Bivol, I dont think fighting against GGG will be a recovery. Some might disagree, but I think that will be a step back for Canelo. Canelo would have gained, fame, if he would fight GGG if not same year, but at least in GGG. I think GGG will box for next few years only, maximum till 43. Only fans are interested in Canelo vs GGG third fight, but not both boxers.

That's what I think too, since the boxing fans really wanted to see that fight, they won't really hesitate to do it no matter what the result of their upcoming fights. This is the last chance for Canelo to shut all the critics about his great boxing career because GGG is at the peak of his career and postponing the fight furthermore, might jeopardize the fight and it might not happen at all. The best time to approve this fight is this year because we already saw some great fights a few months ago which excited boxing fans to want to see more and ahead of us is the fight between Inoue and Donaire, which gonna be a match of the year if there will be no Canelo vs GGG this year.

We are going to see that, however, I don't think that Canelo will just allow Bivol to hit him. He has a good timing, head movement and everything that makes him win the fight. They are big boxers, they are not fast but Canelo has that ability to dodge the punches and go for the right counter punch. In short, Canelo is a smart volume puncher.

Canelo has only tasted a lose once in his whole boxing career and it was just a decision against Mayweather, and take note that that time Canelo is just 23 years old but managed to stood his ground against Mayweather, that alone is already a factor that Canelo is born and built for this industry and I don't have any doubts that he will stop at Bivol nor can be defeated against Bivol especially that he is still in the height of his prime.
Canelo had the best career as the best boxer so far even though the boxing match in 2013 was defeated by boxer Mayweather, but that motivated Canelo to start a new career to become an undefeated professional boxer. Based on Canelo history, there is little chance for Bivol to beat him because Canelo has a good defense and punch to attack with good accuracy, even Canelo has won the match due to a heavy hit on the stomach target.

Just because of Canelo's history, you already concluded that Bivol has a little chance to win? Bivol is already in heavyweight class since the beginning of his career and successfully managed to get a clean record. I'm with Canelo Alvarez to win the match but I don't consider Bivol as a super underdog in this match. I don't treat and consider boxing history to conclude who will win in this match. I'm more of a technical analysis and their capability.

Canelo really has all the advantages in this match. But for me, it's not that Dmitry Bivol is nothing. At least, he might give Canelo a tough match and not an overall dominance. They are both champions in their respective league and Canelo really targets Bivol therefore, the latter is really a big deal for him. It's just around less than a month before this fight happened and all our speculations will now turn into reality. I hope a close bout between these two and not a landslide victory.

For me, a Decision in favor of Canelo might be the highest chance of happening. If Bivol knows that he can't handle Canelo fist-to-fist, he will switch mainly in pure defense just to avoid being Knock Out. Bivol will also be under pressure as losing to Canelo will be the first loss of his career. With that pressure on Bivol's mind, he will do his very best not to get beaten by Canelo. If Bivol thinks he will lose that fight or anticipate it during the fight, he will do everything to survive the match in a Decision result and not via Knock Out.

It's Bivol territory to defend. He should prepare more for this contender who's challenging his belt. Like what many of us wanted to see a close match and not a jab and run, Bivol would be a nice one to face Canelo. If he can take those solid punches, his chance would be better beating Alvarez. Though, it's really a tough job for him knowing how good Canelo was, but it is worth the try if he upset and wins this fight. In less than a month, every speculation will be concluded.

Not sure though how Bivol can switch to defense stance as he himself loves to attack and knock out his opponent. So early this might be a toe to toe match, to test how each other power is, and maybe if Bivol is hit by Canelo, he could go on defense, but he also wanted to test the chin of Canelo if he can handle his power at this weight. So it's a knock out fight between the two and I doubt that it will go on a distance.
