Well even if we don't agree about him being the pound for pound king, he is already listed on the #1 list and was followed by GGG. These speculations will not stop even if GGG will decide to hang up his gloves because the people wasn't really convinced on the 2nd fight specially that Canelo haven't gave GGG the trilogy he asked. Now, it's already too late because we know the outcome but still I know that Canelo will still have a hard time figuring out GGG's weakness and style.

Everyone has its own opinion about that, even Canelo will beat GGG in this upcoming trilogy fans of GGG will keep having

those reasons just like that, not in the prime or something that will continue to boost their trust in GGG, but everything will be on the

side of the winner and look what happens to Mayweather he retires without any losses, more haters but more money in his pocket.

But I do agree that Canelo didn't reached this position because he takes his opponent lightly. He knows that every boxer he fought has a chance to beat him so he trains hard and not underestimated his opponents. There is no animosity between the two in the face off though, unlike his previous fights in Plant and BJS wherein there is a lot of trash talk and we've seen Canelo break down this two boxers.

Regarding the fight, it's common to see low odds for Canelo as you said, he is the Favorite. Even Bivol is an undefeated boxer and a Champion too, bookies think that Canelo has all the edge on this fight that's why we are seeing odds like that. I'm seeing that way too and we can't deny the fact that Canelo is expected to be the dominant here.

Not the very best but at least closed to that. Defeating Bivol will give him another pound-for-pound achievement.

About fighting against GGG, there will be no massive request for the trilogy if Canelo's win over GGG is not questionable. And on the other hand, a trilogy is really necessary as their first bout is DRAW. Anyways, let's not talk about that. Canelo needs to pass Bivol first before they can talk about the trilogy with GGG in September.

Alvarez has one iron chin, it hasn't been broken, even GGG didn't broke it when they fought twice. On the other hand, Canelo is just steamrolling on his past opponents, all champion in 168 lbs. So if there is a chance to score a knock down or even a knock out, it will be Canelo, in my opinion.

I like how Bivol praised Canelo while at the same time, saying "Every boxer has their strengths and their weaknesses. Nobody is perfect. My goal is to focus on my strengths and use them to my advantage."

He is right about that and I like his determination. The goal now is how to unleash that strength while at the same time, protecting their weakness. I hope that confidencece will be shown once they finally faced in the ring.

Bivol must be a strong contender at this moment. And it seems like he is now very ready to face the king days from now. He should be very confident. A little doubt in his mind would be like a tiny leak that would break everything eventually as more pressure comes. His confidence should be kept intact and whole when he is already inside the lion's den and feeling the strength of Canelo's blows. It is one thing to say you can defeat Canelo while sitting down, it is another when you are already being hit by his punches.

There is no turning back now, just watched a few clips of Bivol, however, I'm still not convinced that he might pull the biggest upset in boxing this year.

One of his sparring partner, Benavidez who is also been groom to fight Canelo in the future says that he is a 1-2 combination guy. If that is his strength then for sure Canelo and his team has a plan already on how to counter that. So I'm not sure if he is going to hurt Canelo with that combo and Canelo might time that to hit a counter left hook to score a knock down or knock out.

I haven't seen Bivol train recently but if we take the words of Benavidez testifying that Bivol remains to be the 1-2 combination guy, I am afraid he cannot defeat Canelo. I have seen a number of Canelo fights in the past and it is always amazing how he has an excellent head movement. This slugger could penetrate an opponent with just his head movement. I don't think Bivol will prevail over Canelo if he will stick to his 1-2 strategy.

Of course, no one could defeat Canelo if he is not better than Canelo.

He needs to train harder to match the hard work of Canelo because this guy is on his prime and he is making it look easy every time he fight. Bivol has to protect his belt, he is the champion and should not be intimidated by the power of Canelo, and it can only be achieved if he is very serious in winning.

Training is one thing, fighting style is another. Power is another. Professional experience is also another. These are just some of the factors that should be taken into account. Of course, Bivol should be training the hardest now that he is given the opportunity to face no less than the king, Canelo. But more than that, he and his team should develop new strategies that are specifically planned for his fight against Canelo.

I don't know if it is possible for the kind of Bivol to feel not the slightest intimidation when faced with the likes of Canelo. But I agree that he shouldn't.

Does the face off matter whether who is intimidated? No wonder there are fighters who goes closer to his opponent almost kissing each other just to intimidate. There was a MMA fighter who did it and  it didn't end well even before the fight started.

Underdog winning in a fight all of a sudden mostly happen on MMA, it rarely happen on boxing but it must be a huge win for betting an underdog and won. Bivol by KO is  8.20 that's a good profit.

Bivol obviously do have power punch, but we're still doubt how good his defend is because all of his fights he's dominating in the ring. Canelo isn't an easy opponent to give him pressure, so if Bivol get dominated... I don't know how good he is. Even Canelo have a good KO percentage, but since this is his first fight on light heavyweight... I feel Canelo still doesn't have enough power to knock out Bivol. In the other side, Bivol has a higher chance to knock out Canelo.

I really hope Bivol pushes Canelo backwards and be the aggressor throughout the fight. I think Bivol will win most of the rounds especially the early rounds. Canelo needs to hurt Bivol in order to change the tempo of this fight. Hopefully Bivol can take some of Canelo's power shots too. I really believe that in order to intimidate Canelo, Bivol needs to hurt him. Or at the very least Bivol needs Canelo to feel his power punches and let him feel that he is in danger too. For now it's hard to predict who will win in this match between this two great boxers they are both have advantages and disadvantages during the fight. maybe bivol will win because of his style he can punch in inner and outside body of canelo  because of his long arm not just easy because we all know that Canelo is a solid and a though boxer their division he can take all those punches by bivol. Bivol is the one who needs to bring an impressive strategy in engaging Alvarez, he needs to find the right timing to knock out Alvarez

Close to what? He is already the pound for pound king for a few years now, IIRC. But yes, defeating Dmitry Bivol this month would certainly make him an unquestionable pound for pound king and adding to his label of being an undisputed boxer.

I somehow agree that losing Bivol this coming 7th of May will literally mean that there's no trilogy or another delay as Canelo will likely go for a rematch.

The necessary power for a knockout has never been a problem in boxing (maybe only for super lightweights) the only problem is to land an accent punch. And judging by the statistics, Canelo has developed this skill much more than Bivol. There is always a chance for a lucky hit, but if you wait for a knockout, then Canelo really has a better chance of doing it.
