As CZ said in his recent tweet that is where cryptocurrencies shine for humanity. Bitcoin crosses borders with nothing to prevent it.


However, there is something different about Vitalik, such as preventing people from donating as he tweeted. Because there are 2 verified accounts for fundraising. In your opinion, has anyone played the odds in trouble? when Ukraine asks for help but what I'm worried about is a second party trying to profit from it.

The point is Bitcoin has an alternative way that can make it easier for people out there to provide assistance without the need for us to have to go through the queuing process that is held in our country, not to mention that discounts always happen. But with Bitcoin, we P2P directly send it.

You're right, suspicion must remain. Because after all this is a very large number. It will be very worrying that the unexpected will actually backfire for Ukraine. Therefore, there are 2 perspectives that I include. The first is donations that can help our brothers in Ukraine, but the second point is that other parties are actually abusing Bitcoin.

Through this the true meaning of bitcoin is being understood by the people. I'm not into the discussion whether this address is legitimate, if this is being verified then it is good that cryptocurrency played its role in serving people than humanity. In my opinion, referring to the addresses listed, the transactions are quite suspicious, and the incoming and outgoing Bitcoin transfers are quite fast. Do not know for sure because until now there is no clarity as to whom Bitcoin flows until it is divided into several parts. Of course, this is troublesome for us if it is monitored regularly.

If this is really a Donation for Ukraina citizens, I hope the Ukrainian government can transparently announce where this Bitcoin is going.

It actually looked like a scam (like so many already seen) but it seems that its origin is real and more third party confirmation have been received.

I agree with you as well. we already had that experience, lots of scammers are targeting this type of time to fill their bags. Because they know people are emotional and they are ready to give their best for others because that is our nature. I also agree that we should verify all the sources before making any donation. No worries, we can donate. There will be lots of officials who will take this as their work. I will wait for that time. Thats it, but I want to mention one thing. In this case, bitcoin proves its power. Consider another country attempting to manage their funding through a bank account but being able to do so with bitcoin.Bitcoin proves it. This can be the best donation method.

Yes, it's two fold, there could be some entities trying to take advantage of the situation and this is not the first time that we've seen criminals in the crypto space. Even during the height of the pandemic, there are a lot of fake donation address too, so I would be cautious as well. Lets suppose its true and people will realize the importance of bitcoin. In the situation o war, bank and credit cards (plastic money) stopped working. Only cash and crypto in ur personal wallets can be handy all the times. People must have realized by now that money in the bank is NOT yours but crypto in your wallet is YOURS.

Well you're right, I'm still trying to monitor how the BTC goes in and out in a short time. Even now the amount collected is almost close to 20 BTC. Why do we need this fundraising to be stopped 
If the world is willing to help the innocent people of Ukraine, they why should anyone has a problem with this ?  However 20 bitcoin raised so far is a big money.

This situation goes to show the utility of bitcoin as a borderless currency which is immune to regulations, sanctions and the other games of politics and more people would come to the realization of this through such public acts.
I however sometimes wonder how many of the donators are enthusiasts of the cryptocurrency they donated in, or if they simply googled "how to buy BTC, ETH etc with credit card" and would not be interested in looking it up further.

For the time being if at all possible, hopefully, donated Bitcoins are transparent first. It can't be prevented, it's just that many are afraid of the results that Bitcoin will get. We're just trying to wait to hear if the donations actually get to the right hands or feed the scammers. Always put 2 options just in case. Watch transactions in and out of Bitcoin addresses.

Since many of them are already confirming the address I am not much into whether they are scammer addresses or legit. The legitimacy is already been conform by news channels, articles, celebrities and most of the twitter handles.

I would like to point out that crypto currency’s are really making its way through the time like WAR. I mean Ukraine know very well it would be hard to accept banking help because many of them are cutting down the swift codes and business with war countries. The only was is now to have payment with crypto. I just hope this becomes one of the prime thing and helps everyone.

But I don't see this as an ethical or even effective. How can they cashout these cryptos to fiat in terms of war? Also, if an exchange such coinbase or so supports like this, for a war, so it can be exchange and withdraw almost instantly as it is needed so badly.

Glad to hear that, I know how the Ukrainian president at that time had asked for help from NATO countries but all were silent and could not do anything about it. When NATO countries are in crisis facing each other, of course Ukraine cannot hope for more. Fundraising through Bitcoin is the right choice. Moreover, it proves how nothing can prevent the flow of funds from being sent and anonymity is maintained. Even if other countries fear being caught meddling in Ukraine, they can choose Bitcoin as a payment alternative. Things like these are the perfect avenue for scammers to take advantage of an unfortunate scenario. Unfortunately, there are scammers who spread and create fake addresses on the internet posing as donations for Ukraine, but in reality, are scams.

Before people should decide to invest, proper research and responsibility must remain. Be vigilant and remain suspicious until all other sources confirm that such addresses posted are the genuine ones that are created by the government of Ukraine itself.

This is a good news wherein Ukraine will atleast receive financial assistance but at the same time how they will be utilising this fund whether they will be using it to purchase weapons or use it to keep their lifeline going by using it for food? Also we might see so many cheaters who will be taking advantage by posing as fundraisers for Ukraine conflict.

In a simple sense, I think that the Firearms dealers chose to accept bitcoin for transaction which can also serve as a way of misusing bitcoin although it portrays the usage of bitcoin but the interpretation of the general use case of bitcoin may not sound proper if someone states that it can also be used to obtain ammunitions for war. Because War is not a good thing and every other factor used for war can be tagged unclean for so many people that lost their properties in the war that heard of bitcoin during this war.
