I totally agree with your opinion, because this really happened with crypto, there were a lot of altcoins that were popular back then and today are out on the exchange market and some don't have a lot of volume and prices have dropped drastically. so in my opinion to make long-term investments must have a grace period and the maximum amount of profit.

Shit happens, the strongest coins that I've seen since 2017 and still have good volume plus liquidity today are mostly those that rise on their own, no ICO no IEO or what so ever, they rely on the support of the community, doge coin is a good example and even some forks of BTC, all these new altcoins that are getting released today are not to be rely on, be careful which one you decide to buy and keep for holding sake they might not even survive a year or two.

indeed, among the 5 biggest coins in the coin marketcap it is the benchmark, I dominate for long-term trading / invest (hodl) between btc and eth I prefer to use bitcoin with the network, of course it allows cheaper fees (affordable)

Yes, bitcoin and ethereum should have the largest portion in our portfolio in addition to having other investment coins. Other coins can indeed rise high and provide big profits but when compared to bitcoin, the profit is still greater in bitcoin, but it depends on how many bitcoins you have.

most of major altcoins that have relatively big market capitalization could still be holding on for long and definitely won’t go down in terms of volume that easily but most of the projects that are having relatively low market capitalization and trading volume
even after quite the moment from they are being listed, definitely have bigger chance of having its fame fading and eventually being left out, I agree, investing in major coins is a lot more guaranteed but definitely remember that the ROI will also be different.

I don't understand your comparison honestly, Ofcourse there will be no risk when you are selling assets in profit. It's a simple take profit, take loss and HODL in trading which is hodling is the only one incorporated with more risk. A balance portfolio should really allocate more on huge marketcap coin such as Bitcoin and ETH but still it depends on the trader preferences in terms of investment. There's an aggresive traders which usually choose huge risk but only use small amount of money as capital, There target is to gain profit in a short period of time to chase the benefits of crypto hype.

There is the conservative trader who is looking for more time, just like what we do here in cryptocurrency trading. The only difference is that we don't put all our eggs in one basket. We try to offset this by buying a huge amount of coins with large market capitalization but still having a portion dedicated to small coins in the market for additional income and earning due to its volatility.

You are definitely right. There are many projects I traded back in 2017-2018 and did pretty well back then, especially the 2017 bull market and I would have thought that these projects will continue to do good into the future but this wasn't the case, most of them are long dead or almost forgotten with low volumes. I strongly believe for long-term investment, Bitcoin and Ethereum have proven to be the best choice.

Do you see from the high price or from the other side.

Surely they are a pair everyone should have. You may be daring to take risks but you should still have a sizeable portion of stablished and trusted coins and Bitcoin and Ethereum are in the forefront. Gowithme was just another ico hype project, with its broad concept and the team where unable to develop it accordingly, am surprise you are bringing that project up because the hype didn't last for too long before the value start depreciating and the community went suddenly quite, it seem the team already had their pocket filled and have no need to further the development of the project,
The success of a project depends on the determination of the team, don't expect to see volume when there is nothing new coming from the team.

Holding both is more than enough and you just need to be a long term holder. For me both are the best, although personally I still prefer bitcoin 70% of the portfolio and the remaining 30% on Ethereum. Totally depends on the development of token. If you are holding garbage tokens for long term and that was a big mistake that you have made. The different thing when you are holding the good tokens. Don't worry as it looks like he is not shilling that dead project because he already highlighted bitcoin and etherium on his title and on his main post. Only few projects that are from the year 2018 have survived this far, I think that is because there are now newer chains other than etherium.

There are even old projects that are based on etherium but are now moving to binance chain and polygon because they see that newer chains are now popular. I think the high fees in etherium is also the reason for this. If the team is willing, they will do anything to keep the project alive. We need to support projects like that, that are striving aside from investing in bitcoin and etherium.

Of course, both BTC and ETH are prime movers, so you really need to hold them in order to make huge profits in the future. 2018 was really bad for the altcoin market, even ETH's lowest low was in 2018, but they have gain so much and for sure if you have stayed with them, you are very profitable even today, even if the price is way below their last ATH. I have never heard about the project, gowithmi, that the OP mentioned. But it is true that a lot of alts and tokens created way back in 2018 were long dead already. Very few are still surviving but definitely BTC and ETH are the frontrunners in this market. Because for one, the dev team behind ETH is really doing their job to innovate this network. It may have high gas fees but the team is in continuous pursuit to improve their services, whereas, most tokens were already abandoned because the main interest of their dev team was to rip off those buyers as much as they can and disappear into thin air once they pocketed the money.

The problem is that many investors specially newbies thought that bitcoin and ethereum are not a good investment because the returns is too slow and you have to be a long term investors.

As compare to many coins that has a lot of promises, so they investment their money on them thinking that they will be instant millionaires. But majority of them didn't even reach have of their dreams because the coins they have invested are either pure hype or simply just a scam.
