I would not be surprised if that was happening but the problem is so many shit coins hunters are making the scammers never feel tired to create more and more scam tokens. this is the exact reason you should make any proper analyzation and knowing the project first before making any decision relating in putting your money for investment.
in metaverse, usually the projects offer a product that is in form of a game like the existing newer projects that are in category of metaverse, they usually have finished products that they gonna be offering.
because of that you could just simply review their products before hand and if you find out any fishy things and maybe even the product itself is that of low quality, you could just refrain from investing in these metaverse projects.

digging deeper and more thoroughly in learning is a good idea to stay away from scammers and this seems to be a good reason. I think there are too many scammers in the name of "meta" because at this time the metaverse is still highly glorified because the market capitalization is still very high.

Ever since I'd never seen these projects will get attention to the majority in terms of profit gain but this only gives attention to how it ends scamming. Yes, if we care about not losing our money, we've better choose projects that are truly profitable, not because of the hype made. I could say that this metaverse project won't give fair play nor it give profit to the investors, but most likely, this will give regrets to them. This could tell that new projects aren't worthy of our trust anymore, we are likely to feed these scammers.

Thanks for your advise, and I would agree and this is so true. We've seen in before so this scammers are just going to recycle because they know it's an effective method. Because there are still gullible individuals in the crypto space who blindly invest their hard earn money on this hype. So everyone should be very careful and investigate the projects that they are going to invest.

Fake projects are every where, if there's a new trend expect them to be there as well.
We should get used to it and know how to avoid them so you can be safe and you will not fall for those fake projects. Metaverse is getting more popular everyday, they are still on their first phase and we can expect more from them. Not just Meta! Also there are projects ending/starting with Shiba, squid game etc. These are mostly scam projects and also a majority of the projects added in pancakeswap, are scams!

Personally, I don't prefer to go beyond top 10 cryptocurrencies to invest. These are super risky and can erode your investment at any time. If you are an investor, look for value investing instead of gambling with new projects.

Im also aware about this and tihs is pretty much the same like when people were hyping the doge tokens. So many new scam doge tokens appeared in the market just like a big waves. That being said if the scammers are always keeping update with what the new trend that has been coming to the crypto. So many shit scam tokens are  mentioning the metaverse on its name to attract the buyers while we know that these scammers have no idea about what metaverse is. As a crypto trader and user and we must always be careful with any new token that used doge, shiba or meta name.
Remember that there are so many garbage project that have not used it has become scam as well.

The metaverse trend is being predicted as a new and potential trend for the future, and scammers will never pass up such a good opportunity. Therefore, the thing to do in this market is to equip yourself with knowledge and learn a thorough analysis of the project before investing money. Shouldn't listen to anyone instigating investment and should not trust projects that promise profits will be x5 x10. all of them are scams.

Creation is easy and you don't even need a PhD for it. That's why. It will all be up to us. These scammers won't even get a cent if all investors will do their homework to research about what project they will be supporting or investing with.
Check the team. If possible, talk to them face to face either with Skype or whatever communication that will assure the reality of them and not just fake profiles. Yes, it's a current hype, eventually, it will fade away! But I think some projects will continue to exist and develop, 99% of projects are probably total scams, but there is that 1% that will make something more, it's always like that!
Well, I definitely agree that something new is waiting for us around the corner! We had smart contracts, ICOs, IEOs, NFTs, DeFi, and who knows what else, and combinations of the ones mentioned! So I don't doubt we will see something new, maybe old but improved, mixed, or whatever, we just need to be patient and we will see it!

I think it is ok to attempt it, but must be selective with a little sum of money, since if you fall victim to a rug pull or a scam, you must be prepared to lose. In my opinion, buying crypto that has been listed on a centralized exchange platform is preferable since it has undergone a thorough fundamental assessment, and not just any crypto can be placed there, like for example on Binance.
