What happens now with "Metaverse" is the same thing that happened before with "play-2-earn-games" or "privacy-coins" or "Defi-projects" and so on because the crypto market is still very based around hyped which is not a good thing in my opinion but it is what it is. There is always one or two projects that come up with a new idea and if this idea is good those projects will make the early investors rich. Then other projects see that and try to copy this approach, the first few of those copycats are still successful and then the hype is officially there. Then a lot of people want to profit from that hype by creating projects that are only consisting of a copied idea and nothing more and then the hype begings to go down again and we have 100's of those projects and only a handful of them will still be there in a few years.

I'm just looking for the Hype of the tokens they created, and searched a lot of information on twitter to get the latest Meta projects, some projects are scams, but there are also projects that are still around today and they make products like Sandbox and Mana, I think all of these is a choice because not everyone knows the project is a scam or not because it is only the profit they expect

No one can stop it just like how ICO mayhem was not stopped by anyone. But there is always calmness after the chaos.

They are going with the tide, using the brand image of Metaverse and it's hype at the moment. I have seen this before, so many times that I have been caught on too. It was the same name but different contract address, they are listed on a decentralized address like forkdelta and etherdelta etc. Way back 2017, new coins in eth network are non stop coming to the market and to scam people who weren't aware. Maybe the people behind these schemes are the same way back, they just lie low, change company name and the style is no different. This people are the one who should be shut down once and for all.

That is how the crypto market works. There are hypes, some projects become huge thanks to their own merit and not because of some hype or anything and they grow organically and everyone loves those projects. Then there are thousands like it, a few copycats become good as well, like doge and shiba and floki, doge came first years ago, when that became popular shiba made it big, and now floki is trying the same, not big at all but doing fine at least.

At the end of the day there are hypes, thousands perish and few succeeds and then we move to the new hype and it keeps going that way. Nothing will change, it will always be like that and we have to just accept that.

This is common in the crypto space when a new trend comes and becomes hype then their scammers will also take advantage of this momentum by launching a coin and will name the coin almost the same as the original project name, like the current Metaverse hype then they scammers will name the coin with the name META will thus make some beginners believe that the project launched by the scammers is partnered with the original project.

This is what they've been doing when there will be new trends on social media or in the crypto industry because they actually know how to speak and gather enough data to show to their victims about the theirso-called legit project. That's why there are lots of people who fell on the squid game token scam because they thought it was the real thing but it's not. it's only been used just to get the attention of the newbie investors and guess what? they fell for it, we need to be vigilant and clever when it comes to this kind of project because it has been proven that most of them are actually scams.

Whatever the current trend, it will always be duplicated by scammers.
They even have their own metaverse made like it's the best metaverse.
even anything that starts with the word "meta" is likely to be deceiving us.
I think if you want to invest in a real metaverse project we can go to some of the bigger projects that have their metaverse set up.
They haven't launched yet but when it does launch it will explode, the coins setting up the current metaverse: $AXS, $MANA, $SAND.
My advice is, if you do get into the metaverse project at least you can invest heavily in one of the coins I mentioned.

Yeah no doubt scammers will always be everywhere. Meta is everywhere right now. As far as I know if any trends will be making scammers to use the name that gone viral in the public. Meta has become a viral due to the facebook and scammers try to imitate it and create the new scam meta project for their own purpose. Meta every where. Scammers everywhere. Creation is easy and you don't even need a PhD for it. That's why. It will all be up to us. These scammers won't even get a cent if all investors will do their homework to research about what project they will be supporting or investing with.
Check the team. If possible, talk to them face to face either with Skype or whatever communication that will assure the reality of them and not just fake profiles. Then deepen the research about how far it can get because most of the projects now are getting shorter even if their roadmaps are not yet fulfilled.

And together with that people don't trust projects with a closed source code because they believe it's a scam. But such developers simply want to keep their project safe. I know what I'm speaking about as I use Utopia p2p ecosystem which has a closed source and all the complaints around it is dedicated to that fact. It continues for 4 years already. I am seeing now totally unrelated projects to gaming and metaverse now talking about building NFTs, making games, and making virtual worlds and avatars. Seriously,,, pure DEX and DEFI projects adopting these hype nonsense.
