Thats clearly a hype name for a project. Obviously they wanted to benefit on some trending but not all will fall for that and thats for sure. Maybe some will ride it as they can see some viable profits being locked in on such name but If I were you, would definitely look into it deeper before setting up your money into that set up.

Meta is seems a trend but what if a new one comes in? Obviously they will shift and jump on that one.

There are also projects that don't start their names with meta but they're a scam. It still ends up with the content and intent of the project. If they have an intention to scam, they'll scam regardless of their name.

There are plenty of them and you just have to look at what projects are legitimate or else you're buying the projects and believing those scam ones. Just don't look at the name but also what it has, the whitepaper and team that it consists of.

It's not weird a lot of people take advantage of something hype. In the past scammers always find a way to scam new people who just join this crypto space that's why before we jump to cryptocurrency we should be not too greedy to profit and learn how scammers scam other people. We should protect each other from scammers and dont become someone who dont care to other people especially new people.

I would say "not investing" is not the right approach. Due diligence is a better way to approach it. ICO's are the hype a few years ago. Many developers and fake ones created their own project and scammed people.

DeFi's are also the thing a few years ago. Many people created their own DeFi project and scammed investors.
Now aside from Meta-thingy, NFT's are also the hype as of this moment but now decreasing. We've also seen different projects that ended up as a scam.

My point? Whether it is related to metaverse or related to NFT or whatever that is hype, there will be investors who will get scammed anyway. We are always educating people to do research and do this and do that but still there are some who are falling into scammers. Most of them are doing common ways to scam people but there are some who are falling into it. Being knowledgeable before investing will help you not get scammed so learn first.

You can also always end up waiting and getting in a bit later? Most projects that are scam end up showing their true colors in the first 6 months, which is not too bad for most projects to get into. So, if you wait for 6 months on a new project, it turns out to be not a scam, and you want to invest, you could always end up investing into it. Doesn't mean that it will work out, it could always fail, but after 6 months and if it looks legit, I do not think that there are many that will turn out to be scam after that much time.

It means that we are talking about something that will be a bit more profitable. Plus, projects still could go up a lot after the first 6 months, look at the increases after the first 6 months on most projects and they are all still very profitable.
