Aside from just BTC, ETH and USDT20, now they’re accepting DOT donations and hopefully other coins and tokens (e.g., BNB, MATIC, AVAX, etc.).

In my opinion, it’s better to have multiple options in case others feel that BTC, ETH and USDT20 are expensive in transaction/gas fees for donations.

I am not surprised that Polkadot is now added to the available options to donate to the ukraine in the end it is one of the biggest crypto projects out there and it has very low transaction fees. So in this regard Solana would also be a good option for Donations becaues this way people can also donate very small amounts like 1$ or so which is not really practicable on the ETH network because there you would have to pay 10$ worth of fees in order to send 5$ worth of donations.
For me this crisis shows again that crypto is a very good alternative to the traditional FIAT as it becomes obvious again, that you can never shut down crypto even if you want to and i also read a story about reporters that bought a used car with bitcoin in the ukraine in order to get out of there because they did not receive any more money on the ATM's.

This is how crypto is going to be adopted everywhere around the globe. Because the moment oligarchs in other countries such as China learned that if their money can be taken from them through seizing and freezing bank accounts, theyd start thinking it could also be done to them. Government itself will be using crypto sowhy not them.

It feels good to know that cryptocurrency is gaining more relevance in today's world. With the traditional banking platforms it would take a long time for transactions to completed, considering the situation of things in the country, it may be difficult, if not impossible to process donations using the traditional offline platforms.

It has a very cheap transaction fee, which makes it easier to send as well. Meaning the money that should be at the hands of people who need it most, it won't be going to miners.

Look at ETH, if you want to send like 500 bucks, you may need to spend 6-7 dollars just to send it, that means each transaction of ETH around those levels sent to Ukraine misses 6-7 dollars. Meaning for 5k that is 60+ for 50k+ that is 600+ those all combine to make a big amount.

This is basically paying miners instead of paying Ukraine during a very difficult time. Dot doesn't have that, matic, avax, sol none of them have that and you could easily cash them out as well.

The more options the better. Donators must feel confortable to send the amount they want, through the cryptocurrency they already have on their wallets. This way, the chances of Ukraine receiving more donations increase, as people sometimes get lazy or just don't want to spend extra money exchanging one currency into another to make a donation.

I hope the goal of this campaign is reached and the money well used by the responsible ones.

If I'm going to speculate most likely it will be Binance because if I'm not mistaken, CZ himself donated some according to news that I have read.

I hope not because right now, all they need is sake shelter and safety for the women and the children because as of today there is a 60km convoy entering Ukraine's biggest city and the war will not cease until they get it. They need more support and hope those donations will get to them as soon as possible. I hope they can just give it up for the sake of humanity and looks like that's impossible since Russia won't stop until they get everything they want from Ukraine.

If the Ukranian government wasn't one of the most corrupt governments in the world, this might be a nice idea.

You are much better off donating to an established, reputable charity with operations in Ukraine. Donating to an inauditable cryptocurrency address would be hilarious, if not for the tragedy of this war.

what is happening right now in russia and ukraine is one of the green lights for bitcoin.
the two countries will indirectly enter cryptocurrency as well as ukraine asking for donations with cryptocurrency wallets.
It looks like Russia will also soon enter cryptocurrency because it has global economic problems that make it difficult for Russia to circulate its currency globally, so cryptocurrency is needed. Well if the addresses came from their official social media channels then for sure this is legitimate. And yeah, it is good that with crypto, all of us who wants to support Ukrainian in their war against Russia can really put a small amount to money and send to those addresses. So far though, it has received millions already so thanks to everyone who donated and hopefully the money we send will really help the cause of the Ukrainian government against the aggressor. And we have seen the anti-war sentiments even in our community.

They could have put th necessary tools to convert crypto to either their local currency or USD to buy things needed in war specially medical supplies. And this donations to Ukraine has been set up for months already, prior to the war, it just caught up right now because they are really at war. The thing is that not only Ukrainians can take advantage of crypto donations, even Russia can accept it as well.

I know how important this donation is when war leaves a lot of material and spiritual damage to people. Adding the DOT wallet option to make donations more diverse is also a good move for many parties. And in the future, I believe there will be more optional portals to donate to.

I do hope the money can be used for good reason. Yes they are definitely gonna buy weapons to arm and defend their country. But they should also prioritize their civilian needs not only the weapon for war. Yes its needed but they should equalize it to support people of food and water and medicines.

It is good that Polkadot is being added to payment options to help them in this unnecessary humanitarian crisis, I would want them to be proactive by adding as many cryptocurrency payment options as possible so that no one will feel that one coin is a better payment method than the others and therefore refuse to donate.
This is no time to leave out any coin, it doesn't cost a thin to get a wallet address for every major cryptocurrency.

Well, here we can see the real function of the blockchain system which was initially challenged a lot. I think many people have started donating through crypto for these two countries. This can be assessed as a positive function of technological developments. I just hope that lots of donations go to those in need.

i think the most reasonable is trx if gas cost is very high for ethereum.
But I'm more interested in hearing if the donation is not for the country but for Ukrainian citizens who really
need help with any donations of money or food which are now cryptocurrencies.
FTX exchange will prepare an airdrop for Ukrainian citizens for those who register on their platform.
those who have FTX accounts with Ukrainian citizens will get $25 in each of their accounts as humanitarian aid from FTX.
