In this times of struggle they about to do an airdrop? Sounds suspicious to me, as they already have lots of donations few days ago from the crypto community. I bet their account was hacked and asking more and more donations which very alarming now.

this is something interesting. because it coincides with the tragedy that is happening in this country. and if this donation is handled by the right party, of course this will greatly help the people affected by this incident

You need to remember that it is a donation to support those in need. The way they are building is a program of form rather than meaning. I really find it ironic if they send airdrops to donors, it's their responsibility to make good use of that money, I find it funny when someone takes my money and gives it back to me.

Would be interesting to see how it all plays out, there are speculations that they could be planning to create a custom token/coin, but running a airdrop on this would be difficult as donations were from multiple crypto networks.

I think ukraine has not had time to think about creating a special token for accepting donations.
Because making a token of course requires a programmer who understands blockchain, especially if it is used for donations,
whether you want to use your own chain (it takes time to complete) or a chain like BSC (but there will be
speculation here if it is made modestly, the token price will be played by bad people) .
since ukraine is now in martial law, the most reasonable thing is that they will add wallets with cheap networks,
like USDT (tron network), Polkadot, Solana, etc. In addition, the community needs any immediate funds that
can be sold instantly, not newly created tokens.

Ukraine only accepts donations from donors via the polkadot network , solana Usdt (TRC20) , ETH ,BTC , There is no BNB address for donors , Be careful many scamers pretend to be asking for donations for ukraine , make sure for anyone who wants to donate take a verified address  either on twitter or via direct uniswap.

I worry its really trusted official from Ukraine or not because I found many donation names about Ukraine after invasion by Russia, I don't know which one is true or scammer because found not one donation but also many donation payment using cryptocurrency. What if this was all a plan? I mean they started a war and ended up asking for a donation but it was good somehow because the medium that they chose are cryptos. Not only they can benefit with this if ever it's true but we crypto users can too but let say I am wrong or I am just being paranoid here but this can still be a business to the greedy coin developers because they are using the trend wars and donations, only to create a new project.

The transaction have increased after they said that they will do an airdrop, that only shows that many are interested on the airdrop more than the donation but I think that is better than donating money directly on scam projects.

Do not make a wild assumption, just stick to the basic morality if you are going to donate something. Just think, you donate it because they are in need of help not the other way around, and as of today, they canceled the airdrop.
And the donation is real, confirmed by several people including the vice prime minister himself. So do not doubt it.

It is interesting to see how cryptocurrencies are becoming an important asset during war and protests.

Just a few weeks after the protestors in Canada receive lots of cryptocurrency, Ukraine is now receiving more donations to help their war efforts.

It is also interesting to see Ukraine asking binance to freeze russian accounts. I am happy to see binance deny their request, as Russian citizens have nothing to do with their goverment war.

Question: I was looking at their thread, they accept BTC ETH and DOT, afaik.

The problem is that ETH fees are very expensive. Will BTC users be eligible for the airdrop? As they are listening a token, it will be harder to give bitcoin users the airdrop. I think i will make a test using DOT blockchain.

it's really hard when there's no one to trust, but still donate (if in doubt then donate with a small fund) even though we don't know if the money is right on target (Ukrainians who suffer).

Therefore, we must be careful, that scammers always take advantage of this situation for their own benefit. don't care what happens, because the scammer is only for him. So if you really want to donate, use a trusted alternative. Even then, if you can afford it, give money, if you are able to speak, use it to always inform the truth, if you are able to pray then pray that everything will return to normal.

All donors have their roles according to what they can afford.

It's strange that they take the donation and use it to do an airdrop, I don't understand how complicated this process is. I don't care what I get from them when the giving is to share some economic support for those in need. Don't turn this into a give and take program. I hope those responsible for this need to think more seriously and clearly, don't use money sarcastically.

It isn't a wise move to launch an airdrop using donations because there are other ways to use it. Ukrainians need financial help and not all of them could access crypto. Scammers might only take advantage of it. It would be better to donate it directly to Ukraine than to give it as an airdrop. These donations must reach straight to Ukraine.

I also think so that this may send it wrong message and negative impact. Why are they thinking of airdrop that they have much on their hands to handle. I think they should focus on the means to get support to prosecute the war and not to look for what to give back. Whether airdrop or not, people will show sympathy with them and give to them. Moreover they are yet to make official statement about the legal status of bitcoin in their country and why airdrop now in time of war.

Ukraine received donations more than 33 million dollar worth crypto and that amount is keep increasing. thus they might be realize the importance of crypto and so they announcement for airdrop, they are going to give their own token to their donators. But those who are aware they will not donate money without verification, because this is @Ukraine official twitter handler and here tweeted in details with donation address, Yeah i also see that still they didn’t provided any BNB address. I think who wanna donate they should verify carefully from ukraine official twitter account which is verified then there are no risk to donate.

I see this from two angles, and they are -

First, I see absolutely no reason for this airdrop, I mean they were the ones who asked for crypto and even fiat donations, why did they if they didn't need the money?
Even if they don't need the money, I believe there are alot of their citizens going through hell right now as a result of the ongoing conflict, they can use that money to help this people.

Secondly, this could be a trick to get more people to donate to them if this is true, then am sorry to say but am disappointed, donation should be something one does with a free mind and spirit expecting nothing in return, one shouldn't be compelled or tricked into doing it, it's immoral.

I thought the plan for airdrop has been cancelled going by the information put above. Maybe an after thought they considered that they have alot going on and no need for distraction because airdrop will definitely be a distraction for them. They are getting donation already , EU, US and others have supported with $5.2 billion for the war as they raised the sanctions more. America banning Russian flight in there territory already.
