With the former, you might actually get something for some of your collaterals, but with the latter, you're just trying to open a nearby "empty" box!

If you're willing to ship those to the lender "first", it might work but make sure to provide a "video proof" for the GPU ^{[a dead one is useless to the lender]} and also include your forum name and the date on a piece of paper.

I can take a video of two GPUs in my main PC, and 6 more in my mining server.  Videos and photos of expensive items are really really nice, but unfortunately they don't make good collateral because photos of expensive items are worthless.  Even a really pretty video of a really pretty GPU won't mean anything to a lender when (not if) you scam him.

Proper collateral is never the same amount as the loan amount, there are two main reasons.
First, for example, if you give 4x or even 2x more in collateral value, it will surely motivate you to make an effort and repay the debt. if it were the same value, the loan would very easily turn into a sale
Next, collateral must be possible to sell without much waiting. the lender is not interested in the sentimental value of your pledge he only protects his investment. this is certainly not possible if the ratio ^{collateral:loan} is 1:1. The lender is not a seller, that is all that you need to understand.

How would a lender not get scammed if you still have the video card and decide not to pay the loan?  Many of the reputable lenders on this board, on the other hand, have a business and reputation to maintain.  Even though they are anonymous they have proven themselves to be responsible and trustworthy with far more money than the value of your video card.

Another thing that you should keep in mind; you're the one asking for something, not the lenders.  No one here is forcing you to send collateral, just like no one here is obligated to give you a loan.  There's no forum policy requiring lenders to give a loan to every scammy newbie who shows up demanding one.  And it does seem like you are demanding one.
