To all the big miners on bitcointalk your attention is needed right now as i'm planning on building a big mining space in style with 50 pieces of RTX3090 graphic cards what and what is the best advice you can give me? Cheap electricity is available so no advice on that needed.. I will surely drop some pic once it's up and running.

My only advice is to think carefully before buying RTX 3090 graphics cards, because they are very hot. You will have problems with overheating and you will lose hashrate, this is the main problem with these video cards. I'd rather buy more RTX 3070 graphics cards. Or 50% 3070 and 50% RX6800XT.

Yes i am agree, i would not buy 3090 for this high price. Buy some RTX A2000 12GB, RX 6600, RX 6800 or 3070.

4x RX 6600 cost less than an 3090, need less wattage and have the same hashrate and no GDDR6X heat problem.

The cooler your GPU gets the better and more stable your hashrate is, fact is rtx3090 are bad for mining because they get hotter, if you have that insane amount of money for 50 rtx3090 why not go for RTX 3070 and 3060ti only? These two cards will give you 122MH which is just like a single 3090 but less cooler than 3090.

I would go with the RTX 3080 or RTX 3080 ti now as the 3080 ti gets nearly the same hash rate of the 3080 non-LHR with the unlock.Sure they use GDDR6X and they are hot too but if cooled properly then there is no risk, one RTX 3080 ti gets you 92-94 Mhsh with the LHR unlock many miners have.I also agree going the RTX 3090 route if you have proper cooling, just adding extra cooling to such cards can give you an obvious advantage so if you have the space by all means do so as if you have the money to buy 50 3090-s,you sure have the money to offer them adequate extra cooling in order for them not to throttle.

For me getting more cheaper cards can cost in more time spent maintaining your rigs, the less rigs the less maintenance.Of course the route with Rx 6800 XT is also a good one as these cards if tuned properly are really set and forget cards although I suffered a lot because of risers with these cards, once I put them in riserless motherboard everything is running smoothly at the maximum overclock possible of such cards.

An RTX 3070 or RX6800XT will work out of the box in the cheapest open case. In summer, you may need to make ventilation. These video cards do not require maintenance (replacement of thermal pads and thermal paste for 3 years). The RTX 3090 is a problematic graphics card. For colleagues on the mining farm, some video cards work with a hashrate of 80-110 megahash. No need to think that you are lucky, and all video cards will give the maximum hashrate.

RTX3090 will give you issues later on why no buy 3070s instead or if you like AMD cards buy the RX6800XT they are just plug and play with hiveOS, use components that are headache free I believe that's why this forum is here, do not buy 3090 you will thank me later.

I am in disagreement about the 3090's they will work fine but must be set in a proper server case.

I have the following cases.

https://minerdude.com/product/x12012022/

the above case while have 12 slots spaces 3090's too tightly if you buy this case and do 5x  3090's in it with smaller cards it will work fine.

https://minerdude.com/product/minerdude-x12-xtreme-12-gpu-smart-mining-rig-200-277v-only/

the same with this case

I have one with 4 rtx a4000 and 5 3090's zero heat issues.

David from miner dude

now offers this case below it will do 8 3090's with proper power and spacing along with cooling

https://minerdude.com/product/minerdude-x8ultra-plus/

I have yet to test it.

It is shipping to me as I type. I plan on putting 8 3090's into it.

At the moment I have 16 or 17 3090's

I prefer the rtx a5000

https://www.provantage.com/pny-technologies-vcnrtxa5000-pb~7PNY922Q.htm

but they are costly. they do 100mh at 230 watts and are a blower style card

next is the rtx a4500

https://www.provantage.com/pny-technologies-vcnrtxa4500-pb~7PNY9242.htm

they are costly they do 85 mh at 185 watts blower style

both of the above fit and do 12 cards in the 12 card case.

below is a rig with 11 rtx a4500 and 1 rtx a5000
it is my best rig

You should be fine since you plan to build a farm, what's a mining farm without proper coolings? You don't have to be told that those 3090s need extra coolings and gaps when building them up just find a friend that's into this longer then you have, in this case two heads are better than one.

No one is talking about how RTX3090 give room to more space than other GPUs, RTX3090 gives 120MH but using 3070 will take more space more risers and also build more heats, I think going for 3090 is a good choice.

Yes especially if he gets proper cases.

A 3090 will do 108-115 mh in a good case at 285 watts.

If you look  around you can find 3090's under 2100 usd

so 8 in a minerdude case is about  8 x 2100 = 16800 + 1000(case) = $17800 for 850-900mh doing about 8x285=2280+170 = 2450 watts an hour or 60kwatts a day

so 60 kwatts a day at 5 cents = 3 dollars power

and 850 mh earns about 34 a day

so 31 net a day =  11,315 a year

or 31 x 580 = 17980 after 580 days.  not great but the 3090 have 3 year warranty and 580 days = only 19 months

Hi Philipma 1957

IF a RTX3090 does 115MH at 285watt what about going 120MH will this draw more electricity? Also is 120MH the highest a rtx3090 can do? Which brand of RTX3090 is the best in your farm?

they range as low as 105 and best is 121

the evga kingpin hybrid is the best i have
the evga ftw3 hybrid is second best

the asus strix is third best
all of them do 115 to 121 the strix likes 305 watts

I have eight air cooled evga ftw3 they do 108-112 at 280-290 watts

I have three gigabyte they do 105-108 at 285 watts

I have 1 zotac it does 102-105 at 290 watts

none will do much over 120 to 122 do matter how much power with good cooling

they all run better just off the high hash and high power

ie 280 to 305 watts depending on which card.

I have 16 or 17 of them.

would i get more.

yes but I am waiting for 56 rtx a2000 cards once they come i will look into more gear.

I have a few 3090s and you have to be able to do some extra work for the vrams on the backplate (adding more surface area and a fan..) or throw them all on water-blocks with an active backplate. TBH, if I had 50 RTX 3090 it'll be a lot of work because of the vrams on the back but slapping 50x heatsinks and fans would do wonders making them last and keeping them from throttling.

That will be a lot of work and extra spending, I read a comment here saying you will send money on extra risers if you go for smaller RTX cards but cooling those 50 RTX3090 will cost you extra money too, I hope you know what you heading into 3090 throttles easily, RTX 3060, 3060ti, 3070s are plug and play you will set up your farm running in no time.

If you do not have energy problems then perhaps the only difficulty is the cooling of the cards so it is better to abound in additional fans for each rig and powerful air conditioners for the environment where they will be installed then obviously you must also periodically check that all the gpu are online and work perfectly, maintenance in short

Save yourself the whole reapplying pads and extra fans by going after graphic cards like RTX3070s and if RTX3* isn't a must buy those new RTX A5000 but they are too costly.
