REASON WHY ALTCOIN MARKET HARD TO SPECULATE

I first heard and read about Bitcoin in 2015 and since then I have gained a lot of knowledge about Bitcoin so I was well informed when the altcoin boom of 2017 happened, quite a large number of cryptocurrency users are not aware of this forum but gradually they beginning to be aware of bitcointalk and are coming on board.

It would be amazing if you had time to enter this forum in 2015, so you can be at Legendary rank for now and get a lot of benefits through bounties in 2017. But I saw you enter this forum on December 12, 2021 and that is too late in my opinion.
So how did you find out about the altcoin boom of 2017 because I think it's very strange.

Even though he isn't involved in the forum to reap rewards from the services offered here, I guess he was still earning good outside because he started in 2015 when btc was still cheap and two years later it got boom and ready for a selloff. 2017 hype is the time when crypto especially bitcoin got really popular. Those people scan for information online to get good at it and they eventually discovered this forum.

It is not too late but he can still rank up if he will just post meaningful stuff. Anyway back on the original topic, no one here is easy to speculate. Bitcoin and altcoins, both of them are the same. This is what makes crypto investing risky.

There are two natures of speculation, that is, it can be true and it can be false. It is a certainty and cannot be changed.
Even if what we research will get data that will be very good at creating speculations that can be considered profitable for us to make decisions, but indeed we also cannot be completely sure that the speculations that we do will become reality because again it can happen and can happen. that just can't come true either

Sometimes in speculations we only think what we wanted to happen but not basing in facts or charts of the project. Altcoin is designed to be this volatile, if not then that project should probably have no trading value since no more new investors are buying it. Some altcoins were just tend to added in the list of coins but didn’t give an impact in the market. When it comes in ICO before we can learn how too many projects are coming yet only few is able to keep its phase and keep their project up to now. Only those in top list is still making progress.

I don't really agree with what you say. in speculation I do not see completely what we want there because speculation is only a subject based on Indicators and other data that is used to support how we determine our attitude later.
Even if their results show something we don't want like a decline for example then we can't do anything about it.

Because altcoin world is too large comparing to single currency on top BITCOIN, how can you speculate a thousand currencies when bitcoin is just there always to show what is the movement in front of us.

There are lots of current events affecting Bitcoin and most altcoins rely on it. It's really hard to speculate altcoins because of their volatility and that's its nature. However, there are good coins that we could speculate with smooth accuracy simply because we already know how to deal with its volatility. If you already know a lot about a certain coin, it would be easy for you to deal with its movement and could be considered as an edge.

Altcoins lose value faster than BTC is that's what you need to hear, a 10% loss in price of BTC can tank 30% or more off any altcoins this is why I only invest 30% of money into altcoins and 70% into BTC, the best store of value after stable coins is BTC.

The reason why altcoins move harder is the fact that they lack liquidity and volume. Which means that if you spend a million dollars to buy an altcoin, you may end up doing even 2x on it. This may not work on ETH, but it does work on many smaller cap projects. Which is why there are bigger moves. Change the numbers and you could even have an impact on top 10 coins. So all in all it is not really that easy to finish it all.

I have to say that it is not easy, but also I would like to say that it is more profitable for the same reason as well. Because even though it could drop harder, it could also go up higher as well. This allows people to make a lot more money.

This is based on personal observation and studies of the altcoin market of a period of 2017/22
Altcoins are said to be the alternative cryptocurrency aside from Bitcoin and many of the altcoins are decentralized and also centralized, unlike Bitcoin which is highly decentralized and out of the control of anyone be it the developer or government Bitcoin has a total circulating supply. But Altcoin is developed by individuals e.g Vitalik Buterin Ethereum developer and teams members who are known in the society and the source codes of the coin can easily be updated which have made them not to have a static circulating which is has been the major reason why the altcoin market is hard to speculate because it circulating supply can easily be tempered more coin being minted at will which will render speculators analysis inaccurate in most cases.

Altcoins was never been easy to speculate since from the first place because this market was unpredictable even on those old years.Who are the ones who had predicted that ETH would place itself on 2nd spot in the
market? No one had really anticipated for these things to happen and this is why its really hard and even on traditional markets where currencies/indices/stocks is never been predictable.
You've been having a tug of war with buyers and sellers of course depending on what position you are.This entire market is hard to predict period.

That is not true. Most altcoins that are "shitcoins" or "scamcoins" have fixed rate of coins that can be minted everyday. Again, there are also other altcoins that has fixed supply. Just because the developer wants to change the supply, doesn't mean he can. If the coin is truly decentralized, as long as majority of opposes the change, the supply of the coins cannot be changed. If the developer changes it, then people will move away from the coin because they know its a huge risk when just one person can control the whole supply of the coin.

well it does not need to be legendary  for them to invest here in this market , yeah it is an advantage to us who works here for payment but there are many members here that care nothing about the signature campaign at all.

Yes you are right hard it been I was opportune to know about this forum way back in 2015 I will have indeed be in a better position by now, but that notwithstanding I still consider myself to be among the early bird in this forum as many other cryptocurrency enthusiasts are not yet aware of the existence of this forum and in the next couple of years from now I will attain that rank I don't know how but am certain I will rank up some days.

People are massively converting their tokens to the bitcoin once the bear occured. People are using bitcoin as the place to keep the value from the bear market. The bear market itself was triggering by bitcoin. This is also making the altcoins dropping so hard compared with bitcoin. That means once they are able converting their altcoins to the bitcoin mean they will be a winner as they can buy back at the cheap price.

Agreed and altcoin suffer more lose once the bad news are coming at the same time. I have seen even some lose more than 70% as well. Diversifying our portfolios looks a good idea but remember more risk and more gain.

I do agree that you do not have to be active just because you were once around. You could even ignore most other stuff and still be "active" without much grind. Just be around, and talk about some funny stuff, buy bitcoin alone, and stay away from all the drama and you would be even "active". Hell you could only use the bitcointalk forum for the sports and gambling part, in which case you would not be aware of altcoins aside from which one to use for depositing or withdrawing.

This is why I understand people who do not really have any agreement or not. Doing something like this is understandable, not everyone has to really follow the market all that well like us.

That is mainly the fear of not knowing which coin will survive and which token will fail. This is why most people end up changing their crypto holdings into either btc, or stablecoins. This way you are aware that you will end up with something that will survive no matter what.

Obviously it is not going to be that easy, obviously we are going to end up with some things that will lose us some money. But that doesn't mean that we can't be picking the most careful ones. Even if BTC goes down, even if inflation causes our stablecoins to be "valued" lower (the amount can't go down since it is stable) that means we are at least at the most riskless thing.

Thanks for your comments and also your views, am very happy we are here now and will keep learning to improve our well being, information is power most especially in the cryptocurrency world. Altcoin market has been the most volatile since its boom in 2017 ever since the ico era many projects have come some maintained a long period of their presence in the market others gets dumped quickly. This has made speculation of the altcoin market difficult.

IMO, the crypto industry has a lot of tricks and speculation is one of them, and thats a normal thing in crypto, since the value of coins come from the speculation of the investors, that's why it's not that hard to speculate the hard part was how to maintain that positivity of speculatory value for a particular Altcoin because most of the time crypto prices will fall sharply without warning and for me that one is hard to predict base on the market movement. thats why we must be aware of it.

It is hard to speculate with altcoin, because cryptocurrency market has thousands of them, which are more or less can be seen (from coinmarketcap for example), and even more alts that are not traded and known to anyone, except bunch of lunatics. The powers and funds is spread on the market, like oil on frying pan, and no matter how hard you will try to get it in one place, it will spread everywhere. You can control what is spread everywhere.

The problem with the motivation you may have right now to learn more, is that most people lose it in the future. It may take a few days, or few weeks, few months or even few years. But, unfortunately people end up losing their excitement about crypto in the long run.

This is why I believe that we should not really be focusing on just your motivation, but get yourself habit of doing these things. Learn something about crypto every single day, and make it a habit, just get used to it, just assume that is like part of your life like breathing, eating, drinking, toilet and so forth. I am not even talking about like watching TV level, you may miss that some days and not do that, but like breathing, where you HAVE TO do it. Laziness never brings in any money.

Not being regulated means that people who have the money could manipulate and speculate however they want. I talked about this before in many different places and it is so simple to speculate the market if you have the money for it. When you have like a million dollars, and a fake bad news, all you have to do is talk with some news places both in crypto and in the real world and pay them to release that bad news all together at the same day.

The price would fall because of that bad news and you would have millions of dollars in short futures and can recoup it back. The main reason to trade careful is because of these rich people doing shady work.

Besides that, I think there is something we often forget about why altcoins are not easy to predict, because apart from their declining popularity, there are other new projects with the same scope but better than the project. Then our basic analysis on the altcoin, we trade or speculate on the alt/usdt pair but forget the alt/btc pair, sometimes whales or big funds play with the Alt/BTC pair which makes the altcoin go up and down drastically plus the volatility of the BTC price at that time. it also really determines the price movement on the altcoin (alt/usdt).

Well, I think that most of these altcoins are easy to manipulate due to the hype of someone who's much more influential than normal people. We've seen Elon Musk as one of example who do hype the altcoins by investing on it but we never know when he would take those investment back just like what he did to Bitcoin a few years ago.

And most of the time Bitcoin price movement influence the flow of most altcoins.
