Altcoins are hard to speculate, because of the oversupply. There are too many altcoins in the market. This makes potential altcoins less exposure from the public which affect its growth and market movements. There is no fundamental value as majority of the coins were of the cloned ones. With time we'll have better growth with altcoins, and this also gets connected with the market dominance of bitcoin.

This is based on personal observation and studies of the altcoin market of a period of 2017/22
Altcoins are said to be the alternative cryptocurrency aside from Bitcoin and many of the altcoins are decentralized and also centralized, unlike Bitcoin which is highly decentralized and out of the control of anyone be it the developer or government Bitcoin has a total circulating supply. But Altcoin is developed by individuals e.g Vitalik Buterin Ethereum developer and teams members who are known in the society and the source codes of the coin can easily be updated which have made them not to have a static circulating which is has been the major reason why the altcoin market is hard to speculate because it circulating supply can easily be tempered more coin being minted at will which will render speculators analysis inaccurate in most cases.

I think you described the altcoins market too generally. Of course, there are many similar coins, but there are many that are completely different from each other. Of course, there are those that are constantly developing and there are some changes in the code, but the point is that they should be constantly improved.
I think I can agree with you that long-term speculation is more difficult on altcoins due to the human factor - we are just not sure when any developer will want to abandon project, for example.

Because supply does affect the price of altcoins in the market, moreover there are quite a lot of altcoins with excess supply compared to demand.
This makes investing in altcoins much riskier than Bitcoin, where Bitcoin has a limited supply but very high demand. Moreover, based on
coinmarketcap data, there are thousands of altcoins currently circulating, this makes a lot of altcoins circulating without clear functions, so it's not
surprising that we finally find a lot of scam projects. So in contrast to investing in Bitcoin which is much safer, we really have to be much more careful
when investing in altcoins. That's very important don't invest in altcoins because of the hype, but make sure the altcoins that we are going to buy are
really potential by doing research and analysis first. Don't let us regret investing in the wrong altcoins.

Before many people discussed, many businessmen made coins, it was still very easy to predict because there were still few people who cheated or scammers. But now there have been many scammers making tokens suddenly the price goes up and even up to 500%. But after that, when many people came in to join in buying, suddenly they disappeared. it is complicated to analize altcoin price due many factors as trigger for movement  beside its supply. internal factors that come from developers side such as supply ,tokenomic, utility and etc. if dev team could not build it well investors will not give their money to project and offcourse price will stuck in a limited range. but i am agree with alot altcoin number its really make us difficult to find which one of them have potency to growth and give us multiply return. observing and research must upgraded to solve this problem.

i am agree, real project that build problem solving will close by another shitcoin that maybe courage to pay marketing fee to alot influencer. to find one good project maybe need to observe more than 20 projects ,so it really take our time and energy a lot

The utility is one of the greatest assets of any project and if the token is a utility coin it possibility of making it in the market is higher than just a pump project that does not have any physical reality and problem solutions.  This is why many projects such as bnb ethereum with a few other utility base count/token is always relevant in the market

Researching 20 new projects is a very tiring thing and not even all of them will turn out as well as expected so it is still better to research all of them in your spare time so that not much time is wasted on new projects.
Because every project is always competing to be better and so that they won't be considered as Shitcoins like the others.
