With the short time I have been with these forum, I have come across different story on how people have been scammed, Almost all the story so far talks about their experience with scammers on social medias, forgetting that they are other ways or strategies on how people are been scammed.so I decided to list the various strategies on Which scammers practice on, in other to scam people in my own experiences so far.

Online shopping scam__ paying for what you ordered or shopped and not getting it, and also pretending to sell a product  just to get your credit card or debit card information.

Bank credit card scam or telephone scam__ Scammers send emails or text messages that appear to be from your bank claim that your account is having issues  and request that you verify your details by sending them you pin on the front and back of your credit or debit card.

Employment and job scam__ Scammers offering you job with good salaries or large investment returns and at the end asking you to pay some amount of money before getting the job.

Charity scam___scammers pretending to work for a particular charity organization in other  to extracting money from individuals.

 Cyber crime scam or computer hacking___scammers sending you website or link attachment encouraging you to click, once you click on the link attachment sent to you a malicious software will be installed and all you information will be hacked.

Dating and romance scam__Scammers trying to enter into relationship by using a fake details and legit dating sites, building trust and making feel it real then asking for money and your personal details pretending that they are sick, injured, family crisis, traveling and so on.

Lottery or gambling scam___scammers sending emails tell you that you have won some huge amount of money and at the end asking for fees in other to receive your money.

 Hitman scam___ this is a situation where the victim personal details is been gathered by the scammer either by personnel blog, or social network account thereby threatening the victim that if a  random some of money is not paid to them by the time frame provided , they will kidnap a family member.

All these are newbie kind of related scam which has to be on individual's responsibilities and lack of information to know what and what is required, they get to hoot at begginers who easily get freak by flashy or imaginary things that appears not the way it were.

And most of the victims tend to believe in whatsoever thing they read online, but to stay safe is to verify, research and enquire from experience members or users on a particular aspect for more clarification rather than thinking of being smart and opportune in the presence of those who are more smarter (scammers) than you.

There's also the scam that they'll double or triple the amount you'll be sending them and that's the giveaway scam. AFAIK, this has started when Vitalik was the prospect of these scammers and they've used him and as well as ETH. It's close to lottery scam but it's different because they won't tell you that you've won but just with some reasoning that it's likely a giveaway out of good will so they'll be telling people to send this x amount and you'll receive double or triple than what you've sent. That's the scam that they do.

As long as you are using legit sites such as Ebay or Amazon, you have buyer protection. On top of that, you can request a chargeback from your card issuer up to 6 months after making the payment. In case the item was never shipped, you have ways to get your money back.

Bank employees don't know your PIN. The PIN can be changed by the customers at any time. The Bank does know your card's security number (CVV) and credit card number. Together with your other personal details, that's enough to do fraudulent online shopping.

Charity scam___scammers pretending to work for a particular charity organization in other  to extracting money from individuals.

You are never supposed to be contacted by a charity organization or trust people claiming they work for one. You decide and get in touch with a charity you want to donate to if that's what you want to do.

Pay some more attention to the way you present the information. It should be pretty easy on the eyes and without major grammatical mistakes. Before you submit a post, click on the edit button, read it yourself, and correct any mistakes you see. The results will be better.

Online shopping scam is now easier to avoid, we have better shopping stores online that guaranteed refunds and also secure items for the buyers too, the only way a newbie can get scammed trying to buy items online is using going through a wrong link aka fake website link, if you want to shop online always use the most popular websites like Newegg Amazon and few others.

With the technology improvement the chances of hackers finding new ways to scam people also increases but the safety lies in your hand.With the decentralised coins like bitcoin the freedom of ownership of your funds lies with you but also its security remains your responsibility but there are many ways by which people are becoming victims for these.The actual reasons behind this are lack of awareness and in most cases the greed to earn more which lands them into scam trap.

Banks have always said they never demand your personal information or any card related information whether it's pin or card number.They will simply send you notification of visiting the branch to solve it but the scammers will ask you pin and then funds are gone.Supoose it of as safety deposit and somebody ask you to give them code so they could check what's inside there are you stupid enough to give it to them?

Charity scam___scammers pretending to work for a particular charity organization in other  to extracting money from individuals.

These types of charity scams comes into light whenever there are some sort of donations in which the hackers put a false link or say wrong address matching to the original one and the funds are going to their personal wallets which transfer it fast.As the current scenario the Ukraine government has also urged people to double check the orginal address where they will send crypto donations so as to avoid any scam.But there are many cases in which charity has been targeted to these scams.If you are aware about vanity addresses then they also create similar one's to make presence as original address.So be careful.

Dating and romance scam__Scammers trying to enter into relationship by using a fake details and legit dating sites, building trust and making feel it real then asking for money and your personal details pretending that they are sick, injured, family crisis, traveling and so on.

Just recently there was post on this forum where one person was victim of this scam and he lost around $40k to his lover and she was demanding more so this is also honeytrap and the gender is not known in this online world.Still people fall for those whom they have never met and mostly the targets are soft and lonely people.

Scammers are doing everything just to make money now, they are coming up with new strategies on a daily basis so we just have to be very careful so that we won't fall for any of their trick, if you are visiting any website always make sure you double check the website and be sure it's the right website which you intend to visit, their are some scam tricks which they will ask you to send money and after few hours or days you will get double of your money, pls you don't have to fall for all those tricks or the one which you will be contacted on Telegram and you will be sent a link to connect your wallet address, pls always avoid all this kind of tricks and don't even open the link.
You don't have to trust anybody you meet because you won't know the once that are real and the once that are scammers, so just believe anybody you meet online is a scammer I believe that will really help.

To reduce any loss of your money because of scam, if you want to invest, make donation, anything else, you should do it will small money first. Wait to see how it will be used, how that project or charity works after a while sometime.

Because if you invest or donate, others on the world do too. So scammers won't wait for your second investment or donation to do rug pull or scam exit. So if you have enough patience, you will be able to verify that project or charity is good, bad or scam. It takes time and as said, in bad case you will not lose all of your money.

Rugpull was a mass scam strategy at the height of the memecoins hype last year. I have listed them here. And now rugpull has penetrated into NFT which is currently the people's favorite scheme to get profits many times as before.

And currently there are 2 fraud schemes that are popular in my country. First is the investment of fake trading bots and the next is binary options affiliates.

Nice listing many scam ways but most of them are not crypto related scam. In this forum we are more concerned about the crypto scam such as scam ICO, phishing Airdrop, fake trading bots and investment plans.
But not withstanding the type of scam and how dynamic the scamers can be, you may not fall victim if you decipline yourself by:
A. Not trusting anyone online
B. By investing in only something you know about
C. By not paying one to recieve two
D. By not releasing your personal information etc

To an extent, in my own very perspective, those that fall victim to "employment and job scam", are as a result of their greed and impatient. Like how can someone call or text you for a job opportunity you have never in your life attempted to apply not to talk of applying. But out of  greed due to the juicy benefits the scammers might likely cook up as things one will stand to benefit from such a eutopia job, most persons wouldn't even stand to have a second thought asking themselves. How, when and where did I applied for such a job? What are the tendencies for it being a scam?

At least such question obtain out of self_control and with rationality there's a 90% of possibility of understanding where things are going to, and save oneself from being scammed.

If i may ask, is it not even foolish to pay for a job position  you have not even occupied?

Im not hearing this kind of scam more often the common one like hacking phishing site links. If this kind of style scammer do nowadays then they are really desperate for the money. Imagine trying to build a romantic relationship then youll scam her/him later on. What if the other one get in love to you deeply would you still continue the plan of stealing something? This is the worst scam if ever.

Those all are rookie scammers but there are more evolved scammers also there all over the internet and they keep finding new ways or so called strategies to scam people. People with greediness becomes their prey so who realize that there is no quick money making way that will someone tell you, because if there is an actual way they can do that and make money on their own instead of asking people to pay for them.

People must evolve themselves with growing technology to make the best use of it to secure themselves same way hackers are using it against them for such scams.There are so many articles regarding how to enhance your security which they can opt.

Like many people have fall prey through these telegram groups in which they are added without their will and later on they promote fake projects with big promises in that group or say add malicious links to it in order to get some victims.So the best is to use security like add only known one in telegram this way:

1) Open Telegram > Settings > Privacy and security > Groups > Who can add you to groups > My contacts

This way you can avoid them and also opt for 2FA to avoid any further scams.This is your base security but you need to avoid it on bigger scale like you have mentioned above.

1) If the team is not responding clearly or making some big statements without any clarifications on how to do so then avoid the team and projects.

2) Make yourself clear that nobody is giving out free money so avoid being greedy that can save your funds as majority looses because they were greedy enough to double their coins or gain more.

So be careful as with technology advancement there are some risk associated but if we are aware about the consequences then we can be safe.

Good to see this once more here mate, I hate to hear my fund's have been taken or just got scammed, if you have been a victim/scape goat of all that @Dillonhebaust has said, you'll want to help fight against this.
On social media, never you trade your time with fvckers, trying to care will lead to further trust and this is how it goes!
Having said this, women/men should avoid online dating and if not investment you know too well, they're all crap.
Spend your time reading books and don't push yourself on folk's you don't know too well.
