The original Bounty pool was 20k tokens as stated in the Bounty thread & many times.

Bounty Link > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5384592

March 6 on Discord >

From the private conversation before the beginning on Bounty

all of a sudden they changed the bounty pool to 2000 tokens.

https://safuu.medium.com/we-just-burned-3-15-million-of-safuu-87a49a5c6a30

18,000 SAFUU worth $3.15 Million Dollars was just burned!!

Fun fact is burned address is not a dead address someone must have the private key!

Update : SAFUU update contact them directly we transferred the spreadsheet to them. We are no longer running that bounty.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Fun fact is burned address is not a dead address someone must have the private key!
How do you know that? This is a serious accusation, if someone has a private key to that supposedly "burn" address, then it means that, sooner or later, the developers of this project will dump their token on the market and exit scam with the money stolen from both users and bounty participants. Have they ever specified how exactly that fire pit address was generated? The normal process would be to either generate an address directly with no corresponding public key or private key or, I guess, you can take some random point on an elliptic curve (public key) and generate an address from that point. You can't just generate burn addresses through the normal process like private key -- public key -- address because you can't prove that the private key used to generate public key was actually destroyed. If they have never mentioned how exactly they created this burn address, they are very shady and their project must be avoided at all costs.

Well, the project were offering a grand 382,945.41% APY in 12 months, that's 3,829 times of your initial investment in one year, I wouldn't be so surpised if they have something fishy like a rug-pull build up being cooked in their kitchen.

Speculation aside and facts first, were there an agreement or statement before the bounty begin that the bounty allocation is USD-pegged, in sense that they're allocating 300,000 USD for bounty that's paid in SAFUU, and not --let's say-- 20,000 SAFUU regardless of its USD rate? If the former is what's agreed, then their decision to burn some of the bounty tokens in assumption that their rate will continue to grow up and matched 300,000 USD on distribution date is rather justified. If it is the later though, it means they cheated agreements.

While for the burn address, just like what witcher_sense said, is there any proof or prior statement that they possess or didn't possess the private key of the address? Although it is rather unusual for project to create their own burn address instead of using the existing usual 0x00...dead, theoritically, it is not impossible to create a wallet "without" private key.

Looking for some materials to get a better insight for this case, I stumbled upon several methods proposed by some people in reddit. Two of them were by creating a paper wallet but not storing the recovery key, and the other is, although the method's efficiency is yet to be confirmed by anyone, by "tweaking" a generated address:

Quote
I created a burn address for a BSC token by taking a normal BSC wallet address and replacing all of the actual numbers with 0's.

example:

portion of Original address: 0xc20bd506d3ac925e5e....

portion of Address after I altered it: 0xc00bd000d0ac000e0e...
[...]

So, unless there is a proof or prior statement about the existence of the private key for Safuu's firepit, we can't just accuse them of possessing the backup for said address.

They call it a fire pit address. They have a special lesson about it on their site. But somehow I still doubt that an address (other than the burn address) doesn't have a usable privatekey.
found this video, but it still doesn't explain the origin of the address.

If a method like the one you pointed out was used in this case, it might make some sense. But still the team had to explain how the address was generated.

This space for rent.

Update : SAFUU update contact them directly we transferred the spreadsheet to them. We are no longer running that bounty.
If you and your team did a proper research on SAFUU CEO, you would never even even accept to run their bounty so all this mess could have been avoided.

So, person behind Safuu is Bryan Legend, but his real name is Bryan Seiler and he is a serial scammer, so this is not his first rodeo. Before Safuu, he had 3 projects that failed miserably: Fitrova, Tagz and Clever DeFi. Feel free to google his name and the projects he was behind. As a matter of fact, there is even a scam accustaion thread here on bitcointalk, that mentions him  and his previous endevours TAGZ is a SCAM

all of a sudden they changed the bounty pool to 2000 tokens.
By the time they finish with this, these 2000 tokens will be worthless. They might have as well keep it at 20000 as in the end its going to be the same thing.

This will of course end up badly, how can someone believe that kind of APY is sustainable in any longer period than a couple of weeks/months. This has scam written all over it and I am surprised to see experienced bounty managers being part of a shitty project like this.

Lol so this is the so called burn addresses  Grin Grin - https://bscscan.com/address/0xaa32c984afdfa6b95e88b8ab7fabfa65de89b98c

And they even admitted it on their article that they did the "burn" manually. I am more than convinced that this tokens are being sent to an address that they have control over and will dump the tokens later.

Here are the "burns"
