Hi everyone,

I need your help. I live in a country where the current government dominates everything and suppresses the other parties, the media and everything. There is part of the people, who try to fight against the government and I want to support them. I want to send them money. They accept bitcoin also. I decided to spend 0.3 BTC of my crypto. I know that this is not too much but this is the amount I can afford myself and help our country to be better.
I know that bitcoin is not anonym, my current address can be connected to my personal data because I bought it in a KYC site years ago. Because the government controls everything strongly, I really afraid that they will find me and have to go to prison.
What is the best way to clear this 0.3 BTC to not be connected to me?
I know that there is Chipmixer which sends me chips that was created in the past. I like the principle of this site, but how can I be sure, that they really don`t save the data, and if the site will be hacked and everything revealed, the chips can be connected to me? Or shall I use three different mixer services, and hopefully, one of them will never be hacked? I know that the mixing has costs, especially if I use three mixers. But I pay the price, if they save me.
Which are the best mixers? (Coinjoin, Chipmixer, ...?)
Or is there any exchange, which has no KYC, and I can change the BTC to Monero, send to another address, and then change back to BTC and make it not connected to me?

(I am very careful, I write this message through the TOR network also.)

Thank all of you for the help!

IIRC, chipmixer does not store sessions for longer than 48 hours, so in case of a hack or breach, your data is not available to be leaked.
For extra privacy, you can use it over the For browser and use a .onion address to access the website.

Or is there any exchange, which has no KYC, and I can change the BTC to Monero, send to another address, and then change back to BTC and make it not connected to me?
You can try using a peer-to-peer platform like bisq or hodlhodl which doesn't require KYC.

P.S. if you're privacy cautious, I'll suggest you do not expose your email on your profile

Other than ChipMixer(feel free to ask questions on the ChipMixer ANN thread[1]), I'd only use Wasabi[2] CoinJoins to be honest. With Wasabi, it's kinda unlikely for you to run into privacy problems as long as you don't combine mixed coins to non-mixed coins.

Actually, there is no best mixer but if you don't want someone to track your transaction then Chipmixer will give you the best because if you sent the BTC there you will receive chips which you can split and increase your anonymity and the BTC that you sent to Chipmixer will stay there and receive a clean BTC.

It means the transaction is being cut and ended on that transaction and the Chips that you receive are the new Coins that you can spend without worrying about anonymity and data leaks. Like the above said they do not save any data and it was already tested by many people here on the forum.

(I am very careful, I write this message through the TOR network also.)

I hope your publicly visible email has nothing to do with your real identity - and I suggest you make it invisible to the public in your profile.

And if you want to break the link between the BTC you have now and the ones you will send as a donation, CM is a very good solution (and very simple) in my opinion. If you use TOR and CM, I believe that your privacy will be protected to the extent that your authorities will not be able to link your donation to your identity.

I'm not sure if there is a tutorial for CM in English, but you can use Google Translate for this one written in German.

IIRC, chipmixer does not store sessions for longer than 48 hours, so in case of a hack or breach, your data is not available to be leaked.
For extra privacy, you can use it over the For browser and use a .onion address to access the website.

It became a week but you can destroy your data whenever you want on the site (eg once you've received your funds).

OP is there a reason you want to donate the funds? There might be ways it becomes easier to help them if you live in that country (potentially even while remaining anonymous).

ChipMixer definitely have the strongest recommendation for a centralised mixing service here and it's unlikely logs are kept but funds you send to them will look like they've been mixed (I'm not sure if this is a problem though on your end if they kyc exchange is based in your country it might be).

There might also be the option, if you contact the charity themselves, that they'll be able to offer you advice on how best to donate to hide your funds (maybe buying things for them over tor while hiding your details or by sending them smaller amounts of crypto - still mixed - but harder to trace).

There might also be ways you can donate on other systems such as the lightning network, which is a lot harder to trace.

@jackg
I don't want to help them because I am not so brave. It is easier to recognise my face by the government. But I want the change in my country so I try to support them other ways.

Now back to the question:
I see that everyone is very confident about chipmixer, but how can you trust they really doesn't store the data? There is a chance to store the data to save their ass in the future, if it would help them during an FBI investigation or something.

So I will send the money through the Wasabi wallet and ChipMixer also.
Could you give me one more trustable mixer solution?

Is it ok, if the ChipMixer is the last one in the mixing chain?

Do you think that it increases the anonimity if I change BTC to Monero, send to another address and then back to BTC?

Chipmixer have Tor link, so they wouldn't know your real IP.

Tor v3 link: http://chipmixorflykuxu56uxy7gf5o6ggig7xru7dnihc4fm4cxqsc63e6id.onion (chip mix or fly, new Segwit)
Tor v2 link: http://chipmixerwzxtzbw.onion/ (obsolete, non Segwit)

Converting Bitcoin to Monero is another option, but which exchanges you'll use? This will have concern about your privacy too. If you use centralized exchanges, they will store your data even worst ask your KYC. Bisq is fully decentralized and you can use Tor when set up the software.

for me if i were on your situation probably i will use swap site since the only thing you need to do is to connect your wallet and no any information required in order to covert bitcoin into any assets.

And i will use another non-costudial wallet to make transactions only wherein not store money for long time. Probably that's the safest way as well aside of using mixer IMO.

I don't know what country you live in, but I don't think you should be too paranoid when it comes to the amount you plan to donate. If it was millions of dollars, then maybe someone would invest resources in trying to identify the donor, but in this case, the investigation would cost much more than the donation.

Of course, you will increase your privacy even more if you break the link between your BTC and the mixer you choose, but you can never expect it to be 100% complete privacy. Such things simply do not exist when you are online.

You basically answered your own questions.
BTC mixers and non-KYC crypto exchanges like hodlhodl and localcyptos are your only options.
There's always risk involved. Some BTC mixers might scam you.Do this at your own risk.
Are you sure that you want to send 0.3 BTC to people you don't know? Are you sure that those people will use the 0.3 BTC for good and not for their own needs?
It seems to me that you want to send money to people, who are involved into armed resistance against the totalitarian regime of some country.Aren't those people going to buy weapons with the BTC you want to send them?

My original BTC address is connected to me, and if they store the data, de mixed addressess will be connected also. Doesn`t matter if the ChipMixer works through TOR network.

In my first comment I wrote, that I want to use an exchange without KYC.

Yes, there is something like this that I think about.
Could you please give examples for such a services?

The one zillion dollar question: "Who let the dogs out?".

Have a great day.

PS. Wraps and bridges for the BTC. Possible. fBTC, TRC20 BTC. You name it. Don't get painted up the corner.

Some of the wraps are self compounding. Get on it. Come and get your love.

The best depends on how you are going to conceal your identity and the resources that the state needs to arrest you.
If you are not badly wanted by the government, and the government does not have sufficient resources, then:

  • Buy a hardware wallet, or a computer that is not connected to the Internet.
  • Synchronize a full node using Tor.
  • Broadcast your transaction.
  • use Chipmixer or Wasabi wallet.
  • Send the rest to the party you want to donate to.
  • Do not use these devices again.

The problem remains to trust Chipmixer.
This method is suitable for those who want to hide their identity on average.

I appreciate your thoughts. I don't think you should worry when you are using a mixer like Chimixer. If they store data then no one will use that. Because those people use mixers they are more careful about their privacy. I think first you can move your fund into a fresh address and then mix it. You may use a direct address where you want to send funds. And always use the Tor browser to prevent IP tracking.

my current address can be connected to my personal data because I bought it in a KYC site years ago. ...

If you are afraid you will be traced, you have to consider this information of yours as it's possible to trace from an exchange to any bitcoin wallet you will send your bitcoin. You can use a bitcoin mixer but it does not guarantee you'll be untraceable, AFAIK, it will only delay the tracing as it will go through the different addresses which makes it complicated but it's not full proof that it's untraceable.

I think a mixer is just the best way for you if you would still decide to send that bitcoin to your recipient.

I see that everyone is very confident about chipmixer, but how can you trust they really doesn't store the data?
You can't, in the same way you can't be completely sure that your Tor nodes/VPN providers/ISP are spying on your internet traffic or that this website is actually not an FBI honeypot. However, ChipMixer have mixed hundreds of thousands of bitcoin worth billions of dollars over many years, including some coins which agencies like the FBI were very interested in, and there has never been a single incident of data being shared, leaked, sold, etc.

Do you think that it increases the anonimity if I change BTC to Monero, send to another address and then back to BTC?
If you use two different non-KYC exchanges, you add in a few intermediate transactions, you don't swap the same amount, you do it over a period of days and not just immediately, and you do so over Tor, then yes, that would help.
