Among huobi wallet, trust wallet and Atomic wallet which is the best for a newbie that wants to buy some altcoins? I did research and it says electrum is the best mobile wallet but no electrum for altcoins.

OP sounds like someone who can't afford hardware wallet that's why they give three examples of mobile wallets that supports altcoins only, I trust electrum more but since that only supports BTC the next best alternative is hardware wallet, don't worry they supports altcoins too and if I'm right that you can't afford hardware wallet take trust wallet.

Some altcoins have their own forms of electrum too.

Without knowing what altcoins you're wanting to store/buy it makes it harder to give recommendations (eg some hardware wallets don't have many coins but they have a lot of the major ones).

There is no good open source wallet that support too many coins (multi-coins) so you should download several open source wallets:

If you have little money, buy a hardware wallet.

From your list that represents {Among huobi wallet, trust wallet and Atomic wallet } I prefer trust wallet

For privacy: Bitcoin Core or running your own Electrum server
He said the best wallet for beginners, BitcoinCore wallet is not designed for beginners especially if you do not have any technical experience or fast and stable internet then it is not a suitable choice for beginners.

that wants to buy some altcoins

If buying is your goal, if you do consider spending some good money on crypto, then I'd advise a hardware wallet that works with altcoins too.
Yes, it'll cost some money, but it decreases greatly the chances you get your coins/tokens stolen.

And then you can use even online MEW for ETH and tokens, and you can look farther what software wallet companion you can use with your hardware wallet.

PS. Beware, altcoins are too rarely better investment than bitcoin. Of course, invest as you think, just don't exaggerate.

I would use Metamask for alt coins/tokens i.e, ERC20 / BEP20 and Electrum for Bitcoin. For ERC20 check also MEW - MyEtherWallet.

It's not a must to use hardware wallet before you can buy crypto, trust wallet and atomic wallet are fine but hardware wallet is just more safer than mobile Wallet.

From the three wallets you suggested and based on my personal experience, I would say trust wallet. I've been using the Android version for more than a year with no problems. It is easy to use and supports a good number of coins/tokens and you can easily add custom tokens. Its only disadvantage is that it's closed source.
Atomic wallet is also a good choice you might want to consider.

If the coins you are going to buy will be worth more than $500, than my advice is to buy a hardware wallet.

Yes, I agree.

@OP, the best cryptocurrency wallet is a hardware wallet, so you are not gonna have any issues keeping your bitcoins and altcoins safe. The hardware wallet itself is not that expensive. You can purchase one for as little as $ 45 dollars and I think this is a good investment.
The more coins you will own the more secure you can be with your funds and your hardware wallet will serve you really well. The only thing you have to take care of is the backup and the password.

for a newbie that wants to buy some altcoins?
Newbies shouldn't buy altcoins. Which one are you going to choose if you are new? So you are basically going to buy anything that the scammers advertise the most or is pumped them most so it is staying on top of some arbitrary list and end up losing your coins to the dump, some bug or exploit in its protocol and most importantly you can't figure out whether the altcoin you are buying is useful or have potential or not.

If you can only spare 50$ to buy coins it's better to use trust wallet or electrum wallet but if you have up to 200-300$ then you can afford a ledger hardware wallet and use the rest money to buy coins, hardware wallets are the best choice for newbies and majority of mobile wallets are closed source.

There are many wallets in the market, their company is always developing and making them secure, but there are many apps in them, some security gaps are filled.  Metamask is one of the largest wallets currently securing the funds of all users with the best security.  But hardware wallet is one of the best choice to secure large funds.

Most of your suggested are for bitcoin, OP is asking for altcoins. With the exception of the hardwallet.

OP trustwallet are quite okay for beginner if you plan to play or invest on altcoins. Also you can use metamask for better one it supported variety of altcoins you just need to change network depends on your interest.

Most of your suggested are for bitcoin, OP is asking for altcoins. With the exception of the hardwallet.L
You can read this again:

Most online altcoin wallets like Huobi wallet, Trustwallet and Atomic wallet are close source, you can read more about open source hardware wallet above and check the ones that support the altcoins of your choice.

I can not recommend a close source wallet, if anyone is using it and its source code are not available to the public, the person is at its own risk of any vulnerability included, which can even be intentional which is the type of vulnerability that I am implying like spyware. I can never recommend close source wallet and the only best option I know are open source hardware wallets for altcoins because most online wallets for altcoins are close source.

It can be indirect, if the person that created the OP is a newbie, going for altcoins is not the best, it is better to go for bitcoin, research more and go for altcoins later.

Im not sure if you read OP's question which wallet are the best to use for altcoins. Didnt he mentioned bitcoin? Closed source might be an issue, but why suggest something that OP cant use for what he is asking. I get hardwallet is the best option. But if his starting as a real newbie, bettet to offer him something we can be use for free isnt it? There is metamask.

It can be indirect, if the person that created the OP is a newbie, going for altcoins is not the best, it is better to go for bitcoin, research more and go for altcoins later, I do not see anything bad to also include bitcoin wallets along.
Maybe, but he posted on altcoin section then he is interested on altcoin instead. Thats only a recommendation, but how can you say for investment that bitcoin is always better than altcoins. Have you invested on altcoins before? Ive invested on both and multiplier wise, both of my investment for the two give me a solid gains for altcoins. Im speaking of reality mate and thats what I experienced. Maybe there are some lousy altcoins that shitting some investors but that is the risk and people should learn the way on how to exit and entry depends on the market.

The reason why some say Electrum is the best is that it has been long-established, battle-tested, non-custodial, and open source, a few things that may other wallet lacks. As you reckon it only supports bitcoin. As far as I am concerned, there is hardly a cryptocurrencies wallet that is comparable to Electrum. So if you try to find some alternative, I believe using a hard wallet that supports multi-coin is much a better approach.

Maybe, but he posted on altcoin section then he is interested on altcoin instead. ~
I believe this thread was moved from the beginners & help board.

Among huobi wallet, trust wallet and Atomic wallet which is the best for a newbie that wants to buy some altcoins? I did research and it says electrum is the best mobile wallet but no electrum for altcoins.
Trust wallet had some glitches which made lot of people to lose their money because of the miscalculation happened while allocating the transaction fee on rare occasions and there is no proper response from the wallet provider as well. So if you are just going to start then trust wallet maybe okay but if you are going to invest few thousand dollars then its worth paying a hundred dollar for hardware wallet.

Do not include metamask as a open source crypto wallet, now they are more of a centralised wallet because they block users that are using Iran IP address even Venezuela is also affected, if you make a transaction it won't get delivered If you don't believe search for the news online.
