As COVID-19 pandemic slowly lowers down here in the city, mass gatherings are allowed once again provided that we still have to follow minimum public health standards such as wearing of face masks, etc.

A guy I knew for a while who owns a review center for civil service examinees, knows that I am into Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. He called me yesterday, asking if I am available to be a guest speaker to his students in educating them about Bitcoin when the opening of classes starts next month. Not just BTC, but the evolving and expanding crypto industry like DeFi, NFTs, metaverse, etc.

This is going to be the first time I am educating the masses physically after 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Of course, I am happy and excited to finally doing this again in front of many people (not virtually). Hopefully this is a new beginning for me to finally resume being a crypto speaker once again.

What are you going to be talking to them about? I'd personally stay away from talking about the price, its potential to increase, and all other speculation. Rather, I'd probably talk about why Bitcoin was created, what benefits it has to fiat, and the downsides to fiat. I would absolutely try to remain non biased though, don't sell Bitcoin as this sort of miracle cure to all modern day problems, and instead be honest about its short comings, because there are definitely some, especially for a average user who isn't all that interested in the technicalities.

I'd probably mention how Bitcoin allows you to effectively eradicate third parties, and therefore become solely responsible for your money. While that definitely sounds good to most people, there are hidden draw backs to that, such as no in built fraud protection, no safety net, and you're responsible for your security rather than experts that have been hired to secure your assets.

Very cool, thanks for sharing with us. I’m curious what kind of topics you place on discussing in regards to bitcoin. Are you going to go very deep in to the blockchain and how it works or just kind of keep it simple overall? You mention you’re excited to start educating people on bitcoin again via speeches, what did you do before the pandemic ?

Great question. Yes I stay away regarding BTCs price, but rather I focus more on educating them about Bitcoin’s history, real use cases, fundamentals, adoption, awareness, etc. I’ll also gonna mention about dollar-cost averaging (DCA) strategy too. But if they ask something like “if it’s a good time to buy BTC or something like that”, I would just simply tell them that they should only invest or trade an amount that they can afford to lose because BTC and cryptocurrencies are having no astronomical guaranteed returns or promises about gains.

I ain’t gonna force them to buy BTC after the seminar. Just simple education and awareness only, that’s my main goal. I’ll just let them decide on their own if they are willing to try even in just small amount like satoshis. Decisions are always respected, coz’ I am just aiming to build good relationships no matter if they like Bitcoin or not.

Before the pandemic, I have been roaming into some local universities and communities educating the masses about cryptocurrencies as a keynote speaker. Plus, I have been traveling overseas to attend crypto and blockchain conferences.

Right now I am a full-time crypto, NFT and metaverse Youtuber and content creator since the pandemic began. I’ve been reviewing various projects, doing pre-recorded interviews, live AMAs, unboxing hardware wallet, playing demo versions of P2E games, etc. Journey wasn’t easy since the beginning of the pandemic, but it’s all worth it in the end.

If it's me, I'd say "Actually no, you guys just got your beginner's lesson today. I just don't want you to come blaming me the next day for losing." And also at the end of the meeting you should convey a disclaimer that their risk is not your responsibility or something like that. Because not everyone can digest the information in a seminar (1 meeting), they can involve you about their risks which you don't even know.

Good luck with your seminar.

This space for rent.

Well it depends on how good you are in a field that includes Bitcoin. Because after all, don't imply big questions at the end and you are burdened with big responsibilities yourself. If I were you, I would reject it. Why? as far as my understanding of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is concerned, I personally still feel lacking and completely clueless. It's not that I don't want to spread information, but given the diverse thinking of the community and the limited knowledge that only relies on theory, it is clear that I will strongly object.

Come back to how far your mastery is, and if you feel you have had enough, then I will not hinder positive action.

Congrats on this wonderful opportunity to educate people about Bitcoin! I think that given that cryptos are fairly known (I guess by now most people you'll see there have at least heard some stuff about them), perhaps it's a good idea to take a bit of time for myth-busting? I mean talking about the most popular myths, such as Bitcoin is a pyramid, Bitcoin is a scam, Bitcoin is only used by criminals, Bitcoin is an ecological disaster. Maybe even addressing them shortly can be important because when people aren't too familiar with cryptos, myths like that can be the main stuff they know about them.

Give knowledge even a drop of water because it will make people feel thirsty from the dryness of knowledge. Even if your knowledge is limited, you may be considered as someone who has entered the cryptocurrency world, so you should fulfill this invitation. There is no need to talk about it specifically which is beyond your understanding. Convey what you understand and at least the basic advantages of Bitcoin can be conveyed clearly. This can provide new motivation and interest for those who want to know more about Bitcoin.

Of course you should accept the offer because you have a valuable contribution to spread people's awareness about bitcoin. This is a good start for them to understand more about bitcoin and I encourage you to do more activities like this both virtually and face to face.

In addition to mining, using bitcoin, trading, investing, translating white papers, I think spreading information or teaching many people about bitcoin are part of the expected contribution to making bitcoin more exposure in the community. However, it is necessary to implement health protocols considering the increasing number of cases of Covid infection in various countries.

If I were you, I would reject it.

Of course, I would reject if I didn't have any experience yet.

However, I already have lots of experience being invited as a keynote speaker in various universities and communities in hosting and conducting crypto educational events years ago both local and overseas. Of course, that was before the COVID-19 pandemic.

The largest crowd that I have conducted about Bitcoin and crypto education was almost 1,000 in a well-known university within the Philippines. I was energetic and passionate, no stage fright, etc.

It's just that 2 years of hiatus due to the COVID-19 restrictions would make me go out of the rhythm and a lil' bit "nervous" that's all. But I'll overcome that when the time comes.

Of course you should accept the offer because you have a valuable contribution to spread people's awareness about bitcoin. This is a good start for them to understand more about bitcoin and I encourage you to do more activities like this both virtually and face to face.

You're right. Until now, lots of people are still misinformed or uninformed about Bitcoin. Here in my city, it's still fresh in the market despite that some citizens are already aware of Axie, P2Es, NFTs, etc., but they didn't understand about the technology behind it as well as the real use cases and fundamentals of Bitcoin.

And yes, we are not complacent. Despite the decrease here in the country, there's still a chance that it can surge again because no doubt that the sub-variant of Omicron in the UK may likely going to enter, especially that the Philippine elections are coming this May.

This is going to be the first time I am educating the masses physically after 2 years of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. Of course, I am happy and excited to finally doing this again in front of many people (not virtually). Hopefully this is a new beginning for me to finally resume being a crypto speaker once again.
Appreciate on the things you've been doing and it does really help on overall adoption even though it is on small scale but we know that these steps does really counts.

As long you do know on how to speak up with the basics then it is something that would easily be understand by newbies in crypto which would really be creating some curiosity afterwards.
Speaking with awareness then this do really help at least and now that covid situation is lessening then we would really be that easy to approach the public.

Focus more on the basics of bitcoin as its the only thing needed for the first timers to give clarity on what is bitcoin and how it become beneficial on part of the people. There is no need to go deeply as it will only create confusion on part of the students since they are still amateur about this. Let them do the rest of the research since they won't learn actually if you have given them the full information. Just put a little courage and motivation because that will create interest on their part.

I agree on this. This is your chance to share your experience in bitcoin that will make them convey that bitcoin is not that ponzi scheme and having it decentralized is certainly a good thing for us. Not that you are building negativity on fiat but having bitcoin too not only as an asset but as an alternative currency as well will give us more freedom to choose on what to use once it will be accepted by the government. I have confidence on you OP so go and share your knowledge on bitcoin. I guess you won't be this excited and confident if you have no valuable experiences to share with.

I guess the fact that you have been sharing what you know to a crowd or mass before this pandemic, then this is a good time actually to share what you know about bitcoin as well. Though you only need to share the basics of it that will enlighten the minds of everyone, but that will leave them a big impact when they will start making their own way in bitcoin in the near future. So always have the courage to share what you have as long as you are not stepping the rights of others.

I suggest OP to always keep up with the basics first because your audience are probably new to crypto and its hard for them to understand if you go to the very deep part of crypto. Learning is more achieved if you always give them the best information they need, rather than making it more complex. You might be the reason of their soon to be engagement in crypto, who knows? So good luck to you OP, i'm glad that you are back now to what you've been used to do.

Refreshing to hear. I think, us Bitcoiners get way too carried away sometimes, and tend to push Bitcoin onto those that will listen, rather than presenting them the facts, and letting them decide for themselves. I do think a great education point is; why Bitcoin was created, and what problems it solves. I imagine there could be some healthy debate to go along with it too. I also think the reason why Bitcoin is valued so much by the community is often lost on new users. People become so obsessed with the price, and the current news surrounding Bitcoin, they forget why it's where it is.

Good luck with the talk, hopefully you can inspire a few to at least take a look at Bitcoin. I imagine though that a lot will have naturally heard about it by now, and probably have either become interested to it prior or have made a decision to not get into it, because of the NFT/ICO kerfuffle.

Wow , this is very encouraging mate imagine you will be a speaker? this is a chance of a lifetime as we all wanted to participate in making people learn and invest in crypto and with this chance i know that you will be very pleased letting those listeners believe in what you will deliver.
Please consider this as a once in a lifetime chances and i also looking for this opportunity to make myself proud of what i achieve in my crypto venture .

I'm confident that he can do that easily because he's been into speaking engagement based on what he has said.

His experience in the past made this opportunity easy on him and it's a plus if he's really enjoying with what he does. The optimism that he has would make him love this type of activity.

Well, I hope that I've be like him someday and being invited to the topics that I would love to discuss.

Bring back Bitcoin's glory brother, this is a good opportunity to introduce the community to the neophytes. You are somewhat a good speaker and make use of it to uplift the image. Good thing an enthusiast is also a good speaker, hope more professionals like you help out to increase awareness, good out there we fully support you.
