I just found out about this place, even though it opened in 2017.

It's basically a physical space where anyone can go to buy and sell Bitcoin.

The main difference with any other exchange is that they have real people there talking to the people interested in Bitcoin. This is a huge thing for newbies, as the staff is there to answer any questions about how to start with Bitcoin, in a friendly way.

I think of this as being similar to the Apple Store. Sure, most people can just buy Apple products online, but the store is there to provide real life support to clients. I think we need more of these physical Bitcoin stores all around the world to make Bitcoin available to everyone.

While there is The House of Nakamoto in Vienna, Austria, somewhere in Zurich in Switzerland, there is also the House of Satoshi. And then in Brisbane in Queensland, Australia there is the Living Room of Satoshi. Interesting how Satoshi's living room is located continents away from his house. LOL!

Anyway, I particularly like the idea of real life support for Bitcoin clients and newbies. More often than not, newcomers are having a hard time teaching themselves about Bitcoin with all the available resources online.

Such exchanges already exist for a long time. I believe that you can find something like that if you go to BestChange and choose a purchase for cash in the company office. Then it will show you the list of such places but this one is a bit freaky since CEO probably wanted to get some hype from their name.

For guys from the house of Nakamoto it was a doubtful move to make a japanese design for their service. There is a high chance that real Satoshi is not asian but just took Japanese nickname.

Such physical branches also exist in other EU countries, whether they are specialized branches exclusively for the sale/purchase of cryptocurrencies or are located within post offices. Although some think that Bitcoin must be a legal tender or have some special approval to be present in this way, in fact, it is very simple - everything that brings tax revenue to the state and is supervised by the relevant services can be made available to the public.

For some, this is really a much better option than online trading, because in addition to staff advice, you often have the opportunity to buy a hardware wallet. The only downside is that you can be the victim of a physical assault after making a transaction, in the sense that bad guys monitor such places and then follow you to find out your location.

Hopefully one day I’m gonna visit there. If I hadn’t make any bad financial decisions years ago and was investing and saving smart, I could have afford going to Europe by having a visa and may visit The House of Nakamoto. My Filipina friend was just fortunate years ago that she went to Vienna, Austria because of the all-expense paid opportunity by a crypto company she was working. But I don’t know if she had visited that Bitcoin store though, and I don’t know if that existed last 2019. I’ll put this in my bucket list.

               These type of places should increase more and more. Having these type of places will give opportunities for newbies who know nothing about this industry to ask people who really know what they are talking about and not just trust me bro people who mostly know nothing about bitcoins which only hurts the reputation of bitcoin when shit hapoens to the newcomers or if questions do not get answered satisfyingly. (Having a place like this of my own is actually my dream I wish I reach this dream someday.)

I am in the same boat. I wanted to visit Vienna (and go to Prague as well while I am there), but unfortunately I couldn't. Between financially difficult and then some health reasons, followed by now pandemic, it all resulted with me not being able to visit there.

If I ever went to Vienna, there were two places that I wanted to visit, one was here the house of Nakamoto deal, I remembered it as "bitcoin store" and that is it to be fair . I didn't know the house of Nakamoto part of it, and the second one was Cafe Central where many many famous people spent time in. I believe that it will eventually happen one day. It may not be today, it may take a while, but one day I will go there.

The initiative is good but the most important thing is to have people explain Bitcoin correctly and people with motives other than the quick profit of using Bitcoin.
The use of Bitcoin for speculation and future investment has become more than financial uses for it or as a currency for daily needs.

@Husires, I believe that this information is outdated, because the Bitcoin Store has a branch office in another city (Rijeka), and cryptocurrency trading is also possible in 55 offices of the Croatian Post, in various money exchange offices, and places where gold is sold/bought. It should be emphasized that except in the Croatian Post, it is not necessary to show documents in any other place if it is traded up to the amount of 7500 HRK (around 1000 EUR), or 15 000 HRK, which is the limit in the Bitcoin Store.

I understanding the point of your concern but the fact that stores stores have a notice "bitcoin accepted here" is the compass where to go for those who are lost i.e. physical stores are there waiting.

On the other hand if anyone has a smartphone they already should know how to get started with bitcoin, person customer support for many products or companies are a few years away from demise, so bitcoin should not go in the opposite trend.

And it's not just about the things that might benefit the store in question... I found a video that "in the background, you can hear they're talking about mining-related stuff", even though they're not selling any rigs ^[AFAICS]

I hope they can have branches in many parts of the globe where such a business can be allowed to operate.

Not sure why they haven't included the location of their other branch on their website, but they do have a branch in Amsterdam as well ^{[tweet #1 and #2]}.

If you want to buy or sell Bitcoin in store I wonder do you require identification?

This is very different to have a physical store, it definitely normalises Bitcoin and
brings a degree of legitimacy to it for people in the area.

As Lucius posted about being careful about a physical attack from being in the store,
I guess it would be the same as coming from a bank.

It's a really good thing and I hope to see more of it in the future. It is like a peer-to-peer exchange but the good thing is that you get to see those that you are doing the business with. in my country we also have some stores like this that you can walk in and buy and sell your cryptocurrencies, so it’s really nothing new at all to me.

But, it is good to also know that this is not something that is just in my country and this also in other places. It would make a lot of people to feel safe when they are trading their cryptocurrencies, knowing that they wouldn’t be scammed at all since they are doing the business face-to-face with a trusted exchanger that has a walk-in center.

Selling t-shirts and merchandise is not really their main thing but it will be just another means for them to be making extra income. Their main business is buying and selling cryptocurrency and making it easy and safe for people who do not want to sell or buy their bitcoins by trading online.

There should be more of things like this and I believe that as the government continues to allow the growth of cryptocurrency in their country and making it legal for people to buy and sell it, then they will continue to be more things like this and even better. and I’m looking forward to all that happening.

Judging by the "limits section on this page", the BTM that they're using on that store doesn't ask anything if you're buying/selling BTCitcoin for less than €250.

In addition to @Lucius's comment, there's also the possibility of kidnapping you and bringing you to an unknown location for the interrogation part.
