Wouldn't it be a wonderful move, should there be a rising group of advocates or promoters to push forward for the inclusion of cryptocurrency education in the education curriculum of countries as this might likely  bring about the followings:

(1) Widespread knowledge about the crypto world and it's functionalities. Thereby, quelling the fears of many who ignorantly think the system is ain't working profitably.

(2) create or add to the multiple choices to fresh graduates to pick from due to the dilemma faced by fresh graduates in picking a side hustle while waiting for a job through their certificate.

(3) increase in the number of cryptoprenuers  in and reduce the to an extent the burden of job creations on the part of the government. Etc.

To the house, what do you think? Does this idea makes sense for cryptocurrency enlightenment advancement?
What are your thoughts about this, please flood your thoughts let rob minds together.

I'm not sure if there is an official program somewhere that teaches about cryptocurrencies, I would not be surprised if in some more advanced crypto states we already have it.
what is certain is that such a large market cannot be ignored, especially in education in the economy.
I think the biggest problem is that crypto is evolving very fast and a good curriculum is very difficult to make. it is made in the best case in a year, and for crypto trends this can be a very long period with many changes.

It's something like shitcoin shills, fake trading signal, so called expert speculators? lol. Don't teach about money purpose only, it's a bad start for learning.

It’s already been done in Slovakia.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5374104.msg58578455#msg58578455

It’s a good thing bitcoin is taught in schools. The education system focus on transferring knowledge to students in any area they choose, the teachers do not discuss much about the monetary benefits of a course but they teach the ethics and value of the subject. I think it will help grow a generation of bitcoiners who are more interested in bitcoin as a currency and store value than a money earning opportunity.

School? I'd say not. Maybe introduce it as another "method of transaction" in an Economics class, and students that are intrigued by coming across that name might want to look it up on their own if they want. Forcing it in school isn't the way to go, and I think a lot of students won't really understand/be interested in the technicalities of it at all - they might just look at it, think "oh well" and assume it to be another redundant currency, because a high school book won't be able to point out the interesting stuff that really makes up the essence of bitcoin.

Maybe have it as an elective in college? Absolutely. There are a lot of ways bitcoin can be introduced as a college elective - CS students can get to learn a lot about hashing, its practical uses, and cryptocurrency. An economics major may get to learn about its market influence and stuff like that. I think introducing it in college is much more beneficial, as college students might be interested and that is the prime time they can really grasp the values and do justice. Further, I feel like college students would be much more open to doing some research/background reading on their own compared to high school students.

I think in school they should start teching about Blockchain technology, the benefits of decentralized economy and Bitcoin rather than simply discussing about cryptocurrency education. To justify my opinion let me list  three basic key points.
  • Blockchain technology is the backend of any cryptocurrency project.
  • Decentralization and transparency are the key pillars.
  • Bitcoin is the first crypto and kids need to know from where it all started.

The difficulty level depends on how deep and expansive you would want the courses to be. An introduction into the blockchain world, majorly containing the basics would be fairly easy for an undergraduate to understand.

it's just like students get forced to take a college course. I'd say it's better the cryptocurrency subject for college on IT/computer major, a lot university already have it ['LIST] Institutions offering blockchain courses and programs in the world.
Students already are forced to take a lot of courses which are not directly relevant to their chosen field of study. Having an an elective course on blockchain and crypto would not be a bad idea imo.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful move, should there be a rising group of advocates or promoters to push forward for the inclusion of cryptocurrency education in the education curriculum of countries as this might likely  bring about the followings:

blockhain is a new technology in its infancy, and a highly speculative investment.
before that, students should be studying the basics.

The principles of fiat money, what is currency, etc.
Basic principles of personal finance.

Basic coding education,  lear ing the mindset and principles of coding which applies to all languages .

Blockchain is a very specific niche , and we like it or not it may become irrelevant in future

I think there's reports of a few countries doing it or attempting to do it anyway.

I'm not sure whether I'm fully in favour of the idea as it might not be too useful to some students and getting them all to learn about it might be problematic. I'd fist see it moving into subjects (at school level) like computer science or maths and then extend more mainstream from there where appropriate.

This type of thread has appeared here before, but i could not recall the board in particular we render or rise different suggestions concerning cryptocurrency education and adoption in universities. So the only factor i notices that made cryptocurrency not be included in educational curriculum, is because government have not officially endorse cryptocurrency, even some countries who has legalize cryptocurrency have not embrace it's educational function, but i know in due course cryptocurrency will be a discipline in educational field.

(2) create or add to the multiple choices to fresh graduates to pick from due to the dilemma faced by fresh graduates in picking a side hustle while waiting for a job through their certificate.
To be honest i do not really agree with this part, fresh graduates or whosoever doesn't need to learn about Bitcoin in a school to understand the network or to harness its benefits, there are more than a million materials to choose from in order to learn about Bitcoin, there are books, varieties of them for that matter, one is 'Mastering Bitcoin' by Andreas Antonopoulos, there are so many videos on youtube and other platforms as well, there is also this forum and many more.

Having said that, even if this is to be implemented, in some parts of the world it is going to be somewhat difficult to get teachers on the subject, people who do not have sufficient knowledge about Bitcoin could take up the job and start spreading misconceptions and fake theories which will affect prospective learners.

Another thing is safety, when Bitcoin is learnt in physical groups like a school, people could easily lose personal info of their wallet like their seed phrases and thus lose their funds, for example, since the teacher is prolly going to be teaching novices about Bitcoin, he could prolly be a scammer who will teach them how to buy Bitcoins into their wallet, but he himself would keep a copy of their seed phrase, and with that steal funds from the students, maybe i am being paranoid, but it is possible, i believe Bitcoin should be learnt individually, without the help of a personal teacher or mentor.

.......

I think we have cryptography and other blockchain-related courses under the MIT license, and there are schools that are already investigating the impact of cryptocurrency, both technical and financial aspects, though it is very limited due to the regulations that surround bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
The thing that I want to be an advocate for is trading, trading is more of a technical thing that anyone will want to engage in, and I'm dissatisfied with how finance is taught in school, they teach bonds and securities, but I'm not sure why they don't teach how to use these things in practice. I had no prior knowledge of trading until I began studying bitcoin, and I was a little upset that I arrived late, but better late than never.

Such course, **blockchain related, already implemented on other schools here, but I don't think it should be required on lower levels.
College is good for that as students here is free to add subjects they want as long they are not fully loaded in a specific semester.

Of course, it is good. And timely as well. But since you mentioned about profitability, I don't think crypto should be taught in such a way as to convince the students that it is profitable. I don't think that's a good approach. It should be taught in an objective or technical terms.

Of course, it would highly depend on which approach it will be discussed. So in terms of cryptography, blockchain, programming, security, coding, and the like, it should be introduced under the computer science department. In terms of Bitcoin's economic implications, it should be discussed in economics class. Finance classes could also delve into crypto for its monetary and financial implications.

What are your thoughts about this, please flood your thoughts let rob minds together.

I've always been of the opinion that most of the curriculum used by schools need to be revised and updated to better suit the demands of the present and of tomorrow. unfortunately, some of the things taught in some schools have no real life applications currently and the others may soon become obsolete knowledge. The educational system needs to understand that proper education for a young child about crypto secures their financial future, as cryptocurrency education has the ability to instigate/stimulate interest in other new and emerging fields like NFT's. I'm pretty sure many wise and futuristic person's have seen the need to include crypto education in the present curriculum, but have not been able to do so as a result of government restrictions and regulations... so they go ahead to organise small seminars to educate people. A formal introduction of crypto in schools will be beneficial as it will help facilitate the growth of financially independent individuals in the society.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful move, should there be a rising group of advocates or promoters to push forward for the inclusion of cryptocurrency education in the education curriculum of countries...

To the house, what do you think? Does this idea makes sense for cryptocurrency enlightenment advancement?

What I think is that it does make sense but I am a bit skeptical that this will ever be implemented in most countries. You have to think that it can vary a lot from one country to another. There are some countries where economics and financial education are taught in high school but not in most of them. I am a bit conspiratorial about this and I tend to think that most governments prefer their subjects to be financially illiterate, so they will depend more on the state than on themselves to get ahead.

As for cryptocurrency education, especially Bitcoin education I think much the same. Why are governments going to implement in curricula subjects that teach students how to free themselves from the yoke of governments and central banks?

There will be some exceptions, of course, but I don't think it will be the general rule.

One other consideration that comes to mind would be the approach specifically tailored to places where it has become Legal tender, or are close to it. If we take El Salvador as a case study, it would seemingly be beneficial for the population to be introduced, at school, to wide range of usability and security concepts and practices, probably before reaching college.
I’m not talking about developing the technical skills at this stage in life (pre-college), but rather to inculcate know-how from a user’s point of view, something that has practical outcomes and a potential bearing on day to day life.

In general terms, College or late High School seem like more adequate phases for people to opt-in to this technology from a technical and business/legal point of view, in careers that have an affinity, or as a general purpose optional introduction.

Introducing cryptocurrency in school would not be a bad idea since we are In the digital era. Having them(students) taught about the basics of crypto from the early stage will help a lot in modifying their brains about blockchain.
If many people are paying hundreds of dollars just to learn about the basics of crypto, why can't we introduce it in our schools just to help the young ones to get the knowledge of crypto fast

The curriculums that we have in schools are outdated and literally old school.

But I don't think that these schools are going to welcome to include crypto into it. Like us, we're not able to learn it in school, and just like the rest of the courses and curriculums, crypto has been learned in the real and outside world of school.

It's easier this day because you don't have to be in school to learn crypto. With mass media and with the help of internet, one can learn crypto without going through any curriculum based of studying.

I support the idea of adding it to the school curriculum, even though it not officially or widely adopted yet, the industry is huge and requires to be taught proffionally and not forcefully but to related departments, for example Law students should be taught the roles of lawyers in the Cryptocurrency industry, I.T students, Economic students , Banking and finance should also taught their roles in crypto space.
