Why does the user need to wait to two confirmations? All services require one confirmation, and there is no difference between one or two confirmations. It would have been more convincing if 6 confirmations were requested.
But Unijoin mixer is not "all services" it's an independent mixer  Grin

If once can wait out for 4 or 6 hours to have their coins mixed, then waiting two block confirmations should be a problem.

My interest is in seeing how mixing USDT, a centralized stablecoin which can be frozen in an address, is going to work.

If the mixing service for these altcoins is not ready, do not indicate it on the home page.

I wouldn't say three icons is "a lot".  And I don't see how else UniJoin could highlight what services will be available in future...

Ever watched a movie trailer before?  The movie likely isn't ready yet, but it gets peoples' attention.

I am with DooMAD on this. I think it is quite normal from a business perspective to announce the services that will be offered in the near future. It is a way to create expectation and potentially attract customers to those services. What I'm more curious about is what JeromeTash says:

My interest is in seeing how mixing USDT, a centralized stablecoin which can be frozen in an address, is going to work.

I wouldn't say three icons is "a lot".  And I don't see how else UniJoin could highlight what services will be available in future.  I'd say it depends on the timeframe.  If support for those other currencies is more than a few months away, then perhaps it is unnecessary to show.  But if it's only a few weeks until users can utilise that service, then they should be informed of what's in the pipeline.
I did not mean these three icons, but I will count the things on the home page:

We have an animated bar showing mixer links on some news sites.
Screen shot above.
Key Features: It's good, I don't recommend deleting it.
About Us: Accepted.
How It Works: Necessary and should appear first.
Regain Your Privacy: Hmmmm.
Why People Choose Us: Hmmmm.
News & Guides: Not necessary.
Crypto Tumbling With: It's the end coool.

This is what I mean by that there are a lot of unnecessary things.
Some of these things can be moved to other pages.

If once can wait out for 4 or 6 hours to have their coins mixed, then waiting two block confirmations should be a problem.

I say 2 confirmations not 2 hours, just wondering because 1 confirmations needed (to avoid RBF) or 6 confirmations (to ensure it's impossible to double spend) so why two.

My interest is in seeing how mixing USDT, a centralized stablecoin which can be frozen in an address, is going to work.
I am also surprised by this and even afraid that mixer addresses will be put on Teller's blacklist.

I am with DooMAD on this. I think it is quite normal from a business perspective to announce the services that will be offered in the near future. It is a way to create expectation and potentially attract customers to those services.

It took me a lot to get to tha end of that page. Mixers are mostly light and even work without animation or JavaScript.

Other than that everything is perfect and I am not criticizing the service, I am expressing my initial feeling. Grin

Cloudflare DDoS makes the site very slow, and since you care about customer data and don't want Chainanalysis to collect data, doesn't using coinjoin with Cloudflare provide traceable privacy?

Why don't you use Tor version of the website?

If once can wait out for 4 or 6 hours to have their coins mixed, then waiting two block confirmations should be a problem.
I say 2 confirmations not 2 hours, just wondering because 1 confirmations needed (to avoid RBF) or 6 confirmations (to ensure it's impossible to double spend) so why two.

I guess they wanted to choose a number bigger than zero and small enough in order for the users to not complain. Perhaps, if they required 6 confirmation there would be questions about "why are 6 confirmations needed?". Same would have happened if they required 3 or, like in current case, 2 confirmations. It is what it is Smiley

Heading now to read the article as the current market of cryptos seems to be on a crossroad with price of Bitcoin trying to stabilize around 30k$ and that would be amazing as long as he can keep this position during the summer cycle. The title is also like a glove on the current market situation as the greed indicator is becoming bigger and bigger when there is not real motive for people to be greedy as Bitcoin doesn't seem to drop under 25k again or ever. ( my opinion ).

I shared my opinion about BTC price since last year. And since then I keep saying that I believe its price will constantly grow, on the long term, as halving is coming. Considering that on Jan 3rd or so the price was 15.000$ and now it is greater than 30.000 I guess we are on the right path. Probably the closer we get to halving the bigger the price will be. (Obviously, this is not a financial advice; it is only my opinion about BTC price in the future.)

I haven't seen a "normal" chain reorg with the abandoned loosing chain branch being longer than one block for a long time now. Thus waiting for two confirmations seems almost safe enough to me. It's basically the smallest amount of confirmations that you would stick to without taking too much of a risk.

Maybe I wasn't elaborate enough, but my point is it is just a number, there is no major reason for 2 and not 4 or 6 confirmations. Anything more than 1 confirmation is assumed "safe" depending on the person behind the service. I have seen exchanges accept 1 confirmation in order to credit an account, Others require at least 2, 3 or 6 confirmations.

Is there anyone who has ever lost Bitcoins to a double spend attack after 1 confirmation?  Personally, I have never come across such a case.

2 confirmations will definitely affect the time you have to wait for the coins to mixed, depending on how fast the blocks confirm. This is where I said that if someone can wait for 4 hours for the coins to be mixed, the 2 block confirmations (approximately 20 mins on average) should not be a big concern.

Why don't you use Tor version of the website?
then why Cloudflare? I have not tried managing a site using Cloudflare, but they have many tools and I think [banned mixer] can edit Cloudflare DDoS settings to improve the user experience. I almost need to solve CAPTCHA every time I visit the site. If others do not have this experience, then perhaps the problem is on my end.

I haven't seen a "normal" chain reorg with the abandoned loosing chain branch being longer than one block for a long time now. Thus waiting for two confirmations seems almost safe enough to me. It's basically the smallest amount of confirmations that you would stick to without taking too much of a risk.
A reorganization means that the transaction becomes unconfirmed and not a double spend, in this case 3 confirmations are safe since the reorganization can happen in 2 blocks.

I guess they wanted to choose a number bigger than zero and small enough in order for the users to not complain. Perhaps, if they required 6 confirmation there would be questions about "why are 6 confirmations needed?". Same would have happened if they required 3 or, like in current case, 2 confirmations. This is where I said that if someone can wait for 4 hours for the coins to be mixed, the 2 block confirmations (approximately 20 mins on average) should not be a big concern.
We can reach a compromise, one confirmation to start the mixing process and not be able to withdraw until you get 3 confirmations, here the waiting time is reduced and the coins are still safe. Grin

Why don't you use Tor version of the website?
then why Cloudflare?

Why not? The forum itself also uses CloudFlare. Indeed, perhaps it's not the best option, since many associate CloudFlare with NSA, but it is what it is.

We can reach a compromise, one confirmation to start the mixing process and not be able to withdraw until you get 3 confirmations, here the waiting time is reduced and the coins are still safe. Grin

See? What you wrote above is precisely what I anticipated in my earlier post:

I guess they wanted to choose a number bigger than zero and small enough in order for the users to not complain. Perhaps, if they required 6 confirmation there would be questions about "why are 6 confirmations needed?". Same would have happened if they required 3 or, like in current case, 2 confirmations.

No matter what number they chose, some would still ask why that number of confirmations was chosen.

No matter what number they chose, some would still ask why that number of confirmations was chosen.

Normally we can say that:

Zero Confirmations: unsecure transaction because of RBF Possibility.
One confirmation: a secure transaction, but reorganizations  and double-spending can occur.
3 confirmations: Very secure transaction, no reorganization can happen but double-spending can happen.
6 confirmations: A very very secure and irreversible transaction.

Some services accept zero confirmation transactions if they do not contain a RBF FLAG.
So that I was surprised by number 2.

@[banned mixer] I've tried the mixing service, it's smooth and works well, any plans to release Electrum plugin? As far as I know there is no implementation of Coinjoin as an Electrum plugin and after everything that happened with Wasabi Wallet, providing this option will attract more traffic to your site.

Yet since you insist of the magic of number 2, I can not say anything else than what was given until now as argument. Perhaps UniJoin may explain you more clearly which they chose 2 confirmations.

The fact that this service is available on ToR makes it so reliable and the User Interface is also solid. I would love to use it one day, currently I don't have millions to move around haha.

You don't need millions in order to use the service. Instead, think like this: each time you will feel like moving some money to a centralized exchange -- forget it. Use the mixer instead of the exchange. No matter the purpose of the transaction, I am talking at large now. Like when you want to lose weight and when you feel like eating some junk food it's better to drink a glass of water instead and forget about the junk food.

Similar here: if you are using a CEx -- stop it. Use a mixer instead.

Such approach would also help, in time, the entire community of bitcoiners, improving their privacy and stripping centralized exchanges from their power.

Many thanks to everyone for translating our thread into local languages! It means a lot to us!

We've also updated the OP and added links to local discussions on the main page!

Though I can't find a link to the translation that Kavelj22 reserve (I kind of looked through the entire history of the thread, but I don’t see).

Hey UniJoin, great job with adding the translations to OP!

Regarding the Arabic translation -- perhaps Kavelj22 just reserved it but it's not finished yet? In any case, his answer is essential here.

Other than these, I noticed that you mentioned in OP the "Nigerian" translation (which was made by sokani). I would recommend you to change "Nigerian" with "Pidgin". This is what sokani told me when I listed his translations in a topic of mine, where I listed some personal threads which I wanted to be translated in other languages. Initially I listed his translations as being made in "Nigerian" language, but he corrected me and told me that I should use "Pidgin" instead of "Nigerian". I hope this helps.

Thank you for that. Nigeria or Nigerian is not a language but the Nation and it citizens so when Nigerian is used you should add it with the language and example of that is " Nigerian Pidgin", even you use Nigerian Language is wrong because Nigeria has over 250 languages so if you use language in the suffix it will confused some user who understands the historical languages in the country but when you use Nigerian Pidgin then you specify the language to a particular one and every citizen of Nigeria understand that.
Therefore, you can use "Nigerian Pidgin" or "Pidgin" alone.

Hello

Thanks for pointing out and reminding me of the topic.
In fact, I have been a little busy over the past period and have not been able to devote myself to many of the tasks assigned to me. This forced me to not be active on the forum as usual. I am sorry for my delay in completing the translation as I promised, and I promise you that you will be ready within the next two days.

It is good to see more translations into the various languages of the local boards. I am sure that this will raise awareness of the mixer's functions and help people to take care of their privacy. Which is what encouraged me to volunteer to do it.

Cheers,
Kavelj22

R

I've learned something new today, I was like confused to see what Pidgin is like so it's the language in Nigeria and I didn't know that they've got more than 250 languages. Very informative.

Exactly, more people will understand what Unijoin is all about in the locals and they'll also get to see the value of being concerned with their privacy using it. It's going to attract more translations locally and people that will use it.

We corrected the name of the local translation.

Also we have published a new exciting article! This is the 4 part and the continuation of one big thought!

Thanks for another read-worthy article which brings the apparition of Bitcoin into an interesting context with other society changing events from the far past to some less past events and thoughts.

I don't want to appear too delighted but in fact I find it simply very entertaining and for me it brings Bitcoin into context with things and thoughts that I wouldn't otherwise associate with it. Refreshing!
