As much as I like the free raffles, I think it's a terrible idea to combine the slogan "Your Anonymity Is Our Priority" with physical items delivered to your doorstep.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, but you can always deliver this cards in simple envelope to PO Box with different name.
I wish there was some better way of anonymous worldwide shipping option, maybe something like I heard about anon shipping in Japan (not sure how it works in real life).

Another cool alternatve would be DIY 3d printed cards, if this is even possible.
In theory you receive the files online and you print them at your home to physical card.
Can someone make my dream ideas into reality please?  Cheesy

Friends, we have published a new article "Satoshi’s politically neutral views" and we hope that you will learn something new and also look at the history of ten years ago from a new angle. Feel free to share your thoughts as this topic is actually not fully covered yet.  Smiley

When I read the title I thought I was not going to agree with what the article says, but let's say, not to give away the mystery to those of you who are going to read it, that what the title says is only partially true.

Anyway, I wanted to comment on one specific thing that is said even if it is not specifically about his political ideology but about his mentality.:

Quote
Clearly, he coded from a love of the technology rather from than a desire for fame. Since the code was open source, unpatented and offered widely to all, acquiring wealth does not appear to be the driving goal either.

I believe, and it's one thing I've said in several threads on the forum, that Satoshi got rid of the private keys to most of the Bitcoins he mined. It wouldn't make sense that such an altruistic person would be keeping them, and even more if we take into account his famous quote "lost Bitcoin is a donation." Obviously, this is something we cannot know with certainty because we do not have the means to verify it, but I think it is the most likely scenario.

Agree on this : Satoshi mined those 1 million BTC ( more than 1.1M  if I recall correctly) at the beginning because they were constantly running around 60% of hashing power with the sole aim of preventing a 51% attack to their newborn network.

So, not only it's the most likely scenario, but the more those  coin remains untouched and the more likely is they will never move.

UniJoin published a new article a week ago, and I'm surprised no one mentioned it.

I think this happened because people are more used to check UniJoin's Medium blog rather than the blog from their website.

In any case, with this occasion I found one interesting article there, which I don't remember to be mentioned:

/en/blog/dark-web-untamed-territory]Untamed Territory: Why Hasn’t the Dark Web Been Banned Yet?

Both articles are on the same subject and are worth reading.

UniJoin published a new article a week ago, and I'm surprised no one mentioned it.

I think this happened because people are more used to check UniJoin's Medium blog rather than the blog from their website.

I think that the visitors of this mixer are mainly users who came to the site to use the mixing service, certainly more than those who came for the blog. Plus, the article is located almost at the bottom of the page and is only noticeable to someone who scrolls down there. Users who have already visited the site do not need to go through the entire page every time.

This is another interesting article and, from my perspective, it is a must-read one. The material does not relate only to the content of the white paper, but presents also a nice piece of history: the emails exchanged by Satoshi with Wei Dai and a comparison made by an ex-forum user (gwern) between the shape of the white paper presented initially to Wei Dai and its final form.

I am more than sure that those interested in Bitcoin history will appreciate this material.

as GazetaBitcoin has already written, it is actually a must as a real Bitcoiner or for one who wants to be one to read through this article. in my opinion, this article also belongs in every thread that deals with the history and origins of Bitcoin.
a very comprehensive medium article written by UniJoin, which is, just like the others, absolutely worth reading

kudos UniJoin!

It's been a while since I have read an article from unijoin and I agree with gazeta as well that this is more than the Bitcoin whitepaper itself but the history that it has included. Honesty, I've read some unfamiliar names and from there, I've already learned something new. It's good as the summary of the 9 page of the whitepaper including the resources. Coming from the worst great depression, into e-gold and now - Bitcoin. Good for the newbies to know the history, concept, came from and all of those ideas that can be taken to for them to know the roots of Bitcoin.

I just noticed that another raffle was held, the award being another UniJoin card. And - damn! - I missed it! I can only congratulate haloxon for his win and I hope that next time I'll see these raffles in time.

And still, I hope that maybe planets will align and some more such cards will be distributed Smiley

For those unaware about it, Unijoin just published a new article :

/en/blog/chinese-users-privacy-deep-dive-into-unijoin-bitcoin-mixer]Safeguarding Chinese Bitcoin Users' Privacy: A Deep Dive into [banned mixer]'s Bitcoin Mixer

Quote from: Unijoin
The financial privacy of the Chinese crypto community has been continually evolving, with the government implementing various regulatory measures to control the use of cryptocurrencies and monitor transactions in the crypto space.

The situation became even more complex with China’s plan to introduce a central bank digital currency (CBDC). While the digital Yuan is intended to enhance payment efficiency and reduce transaction costs, some Chinese citizens perceive it as a means for the government to exert greater control over payment systems and surveillance of users’ activities.

This article provides insight into China’s cryptocurrency landscape and suggests a solution to maintain a crypto user’s privacy and anonymity despite the stringent crypto regulations.

I noticed that we have a translated thread in our local board so I just quoted part of your post there so that my local board members can also get to read the article.

And it also serves as a bump since it’s been a while anyone last posted there.

For those unaware about it, Unijoin just published a new article [...]

Thank you for sharing this article, iwantmyhomepaidwithbtc2!

Indeed, it's good to know (although the reality is very sad) what happens in China. Regarding their intent for CDBC, this is nothing new. I know since 2017 about these intentions they had. At same time, the overall situation is not good, since most of the miners are in China. However, China's approach toward crypto at large was not friendly since the beginning and the situation got only worst during years. I still hope though that their movements will not affect very bad the mining process.

I believe it has already been affected really badly and honestly I don't see any sighs of things getting better there, because the local policy is only continuing to be more strict and stifle crypto initiative. That is why new mining hotspots are emerging, for example in Kazakhstan, where electricity is still cheap enough for this and there are no strict regulatory restrictions. China on the contrary is more focused on tightening up crypto measures and control as much as possible. Miners can not feel good or even just survive in such conditions.

Thanks, you are faster than the publisher.  Tongue
Another great article stating facts and the history of the crypto movement in China. What a coincidence that this article has been published because the other day, I was just getting back and watched a video from Motherboard and Vice Asia about a mining farm that's found there. All factors are on point but I'd like to get into the "Lack of Regulatory Predictability" which is true. China is very unpredictable on their regulations. As it's stated about the bans, the go signals, the sudden changes about their crypto regulations. They truly are an unpredictable country when it's about cryptocurrencies.

Yeap China banned BTC mining in 2021. Most of their hashrate went indeed to Kazakhstan, but taxes policy and electricity accessibility became more and more complex for miners. Today, most of the hashrate is located in the USA and in Russia.

This article in Bitcoin Magazine is interesting : How China’s Bans Are Changing The Bitcoin Mining Landscape

On Bitcointalk, we discussed about it there : Russia Ranked Second As Bitcoin Miners
