If you want further details about his overall progress with materials and etc, you can send him a direct message for it -- if and only if he planned to reply back as well. If you were fond with handcrafted arts, I don't think it would be hard for you to notice or have your own rendition based on what can you see with his artwork. But remember, don't imitate ideas and make your rendition art that looks close enough to where your idea came from!
